Edge not working WMXX, RVD’s contract, Goldberg/WWE negotiations, more

  • The latest buzz on Edge’s return is that WWE officials do not want to bring him back to the SmackDown roster until after WrestleMania XX. Critics have said that this is unfair since the company rewarded Bob Holly after his long term injury by giving him a main event program with Brock Lesnar, however, won’t even give Edge the big WrestleMania payoff even though him and Holly had the same surgery.

  • Despite publicly criticizing the creative team, WWE officials are still very high up on Rob Van Dam. The company is going to make a strong effort to re-sign him when his contract expires in a few months. Those close to RVD say that he will not pass up a strong financial offer.

  • SmackDown is going to face even stronger competition in the coming weeks and months. The show will not only be running head to head with "Survivor All-Stars" and "CSI" on CBS, but NBC announced that “The Apprentice” will air at 9 pm on Thursdays as well as the series finale of “Friends” set to take place on May 6th.

  • As you have probably heard, all things still point to Bill Goldberg leaving WWE after WrestleMania XX once his contract expires in March. It is unknown at this point if the company is even trying to re-sign him; one source said that if they are, they are not doing it in an aggressive manner.
