NWA Total Nonstop Action Xplosion
Episode #Lord Knows At This Point
1/17/04 (Nashville), Weekend of 1/17/04 (Elsewhere)
Since I've got 3 show reports every weekend at this point, we're going to
try a new, shorter format. Let's see how this works. Any
feedback/comments/whatever can be directed at mrnewz@mindspring.com ...
onto the show!
Match Results: Sonny Siaki (X) & Trinity d. Chris Hero & Poison,
3 Live Kru ("B.G." Brian Gerrard James, Ron "The Truth" Killings, & Konnan)
v. Delirious/Dylan Kage (X)/Vordell Walker, Chris Sabin p. Gutter, Shark
Boy p. Jimmy Jacobs
Let Us Take You Back... EL LEON (Apolo) and NWA WORLD CHAMPION, JEFF
JARRETT brawl outside the arena to start NWA TNA! DON CALLIS screams on.
JEREMY BORASH & MIKE TENAY hype this week's NWA TNA. We've got the debut of
JONNY FAIRPLAY (their spelling on screen), as well as JEFF JARRETT v. EL
LEON in a Street Fight... AMERICA'S MOST WANTED against RED SHIRT SECURITY
to determine the Number One Contenders to the NWA World Tag Team
Championship... plus GLENN GILBERTI & DAVID YOUNG meet SIMON DIAMOND &
JOHNNY SWINGER. Whew. Let's take it to the ring.
MATCH #1: SONNY SIAKI & TRINITY v. CHRIS HERO & POISON in an InterGender
Tag Team Match.
Heels jump to start. Eventually leaving HERO & SIAKI. HERO gets a nice deep
arm drag. POISON & HERO try the hold open/double axe handle double team but
SIAKI just shrugs off POISON. SIAKI takes some shots from POISON and floors
her before tagging in TRINITY. TRINITY tries a running Shooting Star Press,
but it doesn't come out like an SSP and gets a two count on POISON. HERO
takes a nice corkscrew head scissors on HERO. SIAKI back in and TENAY &
WEST talk about the communication. SIAKI presses TRINITY into a splash on
HERO for a near fall. HERO gets a somersault swinging neck breaker out of
the corner (THE MOORE-GASM~!) and we have TRINITY and POISON with the hot
tags. POISON gets two off of a running power slam. Duck clothesline, then a
spear by TRINITY. TRINITY to the top and POSION crotches her. SIAKI pulls
HERO off when he goes up. SIAKI tosses POSION. Hurricanrana from the top by
HERO. SIAK-OLYPSE. See ya. Post match, KID KASH meets SIAKI and TRINITY in
the aisle way and they both walk away. Poor Kid Kash.
MATCH #1: Sonny Siaki & Trinity d. Chris Hero & Poison by Pinfall (3:34)
when Siaki pinned Hero after "The Siak-olypse" swinging neck breaker.
Mr. Number One Takes A Number Two: They've at least removed the quotation
marks, so that's a bonus. Needless to say, KID KASH enters the bathroom
where TRINITY is talking to SIAKI through a bathroom stall. TRINITY is
asking SIAKI if he's upset that he didn't win BABE OF THE YEAR. SIAKI: "Do
you mind if I take a doo-doo in private?" (Seriously)... KASH slides SIAKI
the clipboard to sign and he continues to refuse. TRINITY asks him to just
sign it. SIAKI finishes and says he was advised not to sign anything. He
tells everyone not to worry about who it is. KASH gets TRINITY to sign,
finally.

Let Us Take You Back... DAVID YOUNG defeats SIMON DIAMOND with a little
help from referee GLENN GILBERTI. Post match brawl with SWINGER involved is
also included.
No More Back Seat For David!: GILBERTI & YOUNG talk about how GILBERTI made
a decision. GILBERTI calls DIAMOND/SWINGER nobodies. GILBERTI says now they
want a match and no one disrespects him. Young closes with "and I don't
have to ride in the back seat anymore."
JEREMY BORASH & MIKE TENAY return to repeat the stuff we heard already. 3
LIVE KRU is next.
NWA TOTAL NONSTOP ACTION only on Pay-Per-View.
MATCH #2: NWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: 3 LIVE KRU ("B.G." BRIAN GERRARD
JAMES, RON "THE TRUTH" KILLINGS, & KONNAN) v. DELIRIOUS, DYLAN KAGE, &
VORDELL WALKER
You might not have noticed much of a difference in the first match, but you
will in this recap, I gather. 3LK try to sing their new song, but poor
KILLINGS' mic is sort of dead and he doesn't seem to notice. Ack! KONNAN
does his schtick. Poor DELIRIOUS is back for another beating. DELRIOUS
exchange with JAMES, leads to a shaky shaky knee drop. DELIRIOUS gets a
sort of rope walk into a corkscrew moonsault plancha onto JAMES. Drop toe
hold by DELIRIOUS allowing VORDELL WALKER to join in. Standing moonsault
splash gets two by WALKER. KAGE tagged in and JAMES gets the hot tag.
KILLINGS takes KAGE and DELIRIOUS out. KAGE eats an axe kick. Rolling
Thunder lariat for WALKER. KILLINGS gets his break dance back flip out of a
corner charge by KAGE. KILLINGS splits and KAGE's clothesline misses. JAMES
catches KAGE right away into a waist lock pick-up leading to the leaping
side kick for the pin. Let's dance.
MATCH #2: NWA World Tag Team Champions: 3 Live Kru ("B.G." Brian Gerrard
James, Ron "The Truth" Killings, & Konnan) d. Dylan Kage, Delirious, &
Vordell Walker by Pinfall (2:32) when Killings pinned Kage after a waist
lock pick-up/leaping side kick double team.
Up Next? All Hail the X DIVISION CHAMPION! (CHRIS SABIN~!)
BEST OF THE X DIVISION is on DVD. $24.95 plus shipping and handling on
www.nwatna.com
JEREMY BORASH & MIKE TENAY back for segment 4. Be sure to log on to
www.nwatna.com because there is late breaking news apparently. Probably
dealing with FAIRPLAY swerving CALLIS or something, which is a shame since
he should obviously be a heel. TENAY talks about who the NUMBER ONE
CONTENDERS are (we saw 3LK "earlier in this broadcast")... as well as
seeing 2 Members of TRIPLE X take on SHANE DOUGLAS this Wednesday Night. Oooh.
MATCH #3: NWA X DIVISION CHAMPION: CHRIS SABIN (no longer the Future,
apparently) v. GUTTER in a Non-Title Match.
Prior to the match, JEREMY BORASH introduces ANTONIO PENA with ARMANDO
QUINTERO coming to the ringside area for this match up. TENAY puts over
that both SABIN & GUTTER were trained by SCOTT D'MORE and puts over BOARDER
CITY WRESTLING. The commentary basically puts over the AMERICAS' CUP
between AAA and TNA on FEBRUARY 11th. That show will be a one night
tournament. QUINTERO is on commentary shilling it as PENA apparently
doesn't like to speak ENGLISH. Nice exchanges to start in the ring. GUTTER
gets a nice slide through SABIN's legs when SABIN charges the corner that
leads to a hurricanrana by SABIN. GUTTER drops SABIN face first onto the
corner on a charge. GUTTER hits a Cobra Clutch into a Fall away Inverted
Jawbreaker (Flatliner), but we almost totally miss it. MR. AGUILA, HEAVY
METAL, LATIN LOVER, CIBERNETICO, and ABISMO NEGRO are mentioned as
possibles to come into NWA TNA. Nice slingshot springboard clothesline by
SABIN in the ring gets two. Snap mare by SABIN, then a slingshot
springboard guillotine leg drop gets two. Kryptonite Krunch reversal by
GUTTER off of a power bomb attempt by SABIN gets two for GUTTER. Fireman's
Carry into a sit-out forward slam (sort of like the old Michinoku Driver
only starting with the Fireman's Carry) by SABIN gets the pinfall.
MATCH #3: NWA X Division Champion: "The Future" Chris Sabin d. Gutter by
Pinfall (4:13) after a fireman's carry into a sit-out forward slam. Non-Title.
Time To Make Some Noise: THE NEW FRANCHISE ("THE FRANCHISE" SHANE DOUGLAS,
MICHAEL SHANE, & TRACI BROOKS) talk about this week and last week. DOUGLAS
tells ELIX SKIPPER & CHRISTOPHER DANIELS that someone in the NWA Political
machine must hate them because they are the next to get their asses Franchised.
Up Next! SHARK BOY throws down the gloves. AK! He dropped the HULK HANDS! Boo!
MATCH #4: SHARK BOY v. JIMMY JACOBS
Four matches? My god, they must like me this week. Ah yes, THE HUSS man
cometh to NWA TNA. No mention of JACOBS goofy schtick at the onset of the
match or how these two frequently work IWA-MS, which is funny because TENAY
is usually really good at that stuff. I guess this week is ONLY the week to
put over D'MORE since he works there. SHARK BOY works a double leg take
down a few times and they work some variation counters. SHARK BOY tries to
suplex JACOBS to the floor, but JACOBS brings him back in. SHARK BOY
catches JACOBS up top and hits a superplex into a power slam from the
middle turnbuckle (Jackhammer). Not sure if they really had a clue where
they were going with that one. SHARK BOY tries a power bomb, but JACOBS
back drops out of it, allowing SHARK BOY to sunset flip. SHARK BOY eats a
HUSS~! boot, then takes a modified camel clutch. Crowd starts to rally a
bit, but before they get too into it, SHARK BOY breaks free. Corner mount
and bite by SHARK BOY. Face slam variation after an exchange in the corner
by SHARK BOY leads to the DEAD SEA DROP for the pin in 3:02. Two in a row.
Score.
MATCH #4: Shark Boy d. Jimmy Jacobs by Pinfall (3:02) after "The Dead Sea
Drop" reverse front face lock into a somersault forward jawbreaker from the
middle turnbuckle.

Let Us Take You Back... THE GATHERING defeat THE SANDMAN (sans RAVEN) in a
SINGAPORE CANE ON A POLE MATCH. Now start the debating as to whether this
goes as a handicapped win or a tag win because RAVEN was originally
scheduled. Hmmm. Finish airs.
Let Us Take You Back... THE SANDMAN is bringing BALLS MAHONEY to help him
against THE GATHERING. Wasn't that RAVEN's feud though? This includes DON
WEST & MIKE TENAY at ringside's follow up.
A Gathering Of Evil: FATHER JAMES MITCHELL & THE GATHERING. MITCHELL puts
over that the GATHERING have beaten RAVEN and SANDMAN at their own game.
MITCHELL puts over MAHONEY, but says that anyone who sides with RAVEN is
screwed.
Bumper has the JOHNNY (yes, that's the spelling here) FAIRPLAY graphic.
Okay, so WHY does these errors keep occurring? It's not like the
controversy of JONNY/JOHNY/JOHNNY STORM and the fact that he spells his
name differently everywhere... it's just a SIMPLE NAME. Kind of like their
repeated screw ups spelling MICHAEL SHANE "MICHEAL" in some graphics. I
don't get it. Consistency is key.
NWA TOTAL NONSTOP ACTION only on Pay-Per-View.
Let Us Take You Back... MIKE TENAY & DON WEST continue their shill and are
interrupted by DON CALLIS and ...
Let Us Take You Back... a JOHNNY FAIRPLAY video. He'll be THERE Wednesday
Night. Goodie.
JEREMY BORASH & MIKE TENAY put over JOHNNY FAIRPLAY and the card we've
already mentioned. TENAY talks about the NWA BOARD having a very important
decision to make in regards to the main event from this past Wednesday Night.
Let Us Take You Back... A.J. STYLES & ERIK WATTS defeat ABYSS & NWA WORLD
CHAMPION: JEFF JARRETT in a Title Shot v. WATT'S CAREER AS DIRECTOR OF
AUTHORITY Match. We start just prior to the false finish, see all of
BEHRENS run in to re-start the match, then to the finish ... including
GOLDYLOCKS' interference which is exactly why the match was restarted in
the first place (well, a foreign object)... alas. Hypocritical crap. EL
LEON brawls with JEFF JARRETT through the crowd. Post match promo airs as well.
Just Get It Done!: DON CALLIS & RED SHIRT SECURITY. CALLIS yells and
screams at the RED SHIRTS to get the tag titles. NORTHCUTT says they were
hired to do a job and next week they're going to do it.
It's Me Or You, Callis!: Camera man asks ERIK WATTS with GOLDYLOCKS what
will go down next Wednesday. WATTS talks about what happened TONIGHT and
says that JARRETT's belt will be gone when A.J. STYLES takes the belt from him.
Unsportsman Like Conduct: MIKE TENAY & DON WEST are talking in the back.
WEST says that TENAY was out of line with what down at ringside during the
main event match. TENAY says that too much was on the line and he wasn't
going to sit there idly and let that BLEEP go down.
Party In The Limo!: ABYSS, DON CALLIS, NWA WORLD CHAMPION: JEFF JARRETT,
KID KASH, & RED SHIRT SECURITY are partying in the back of a limo. JARRETT
congratulates everyone on a fine job (well, sans KASH--- they all did. HA!)
... JARRETT says WATTS' job is done and next week... JOHNNY FAIRPLAY.
Hardsell It Don!: DON WEST shills this week's card, which if you missed it
earlier is:
-JEFF JARRETT v. EL LEON in a Street Fight
-THE GATHERING v. BALL MAHONEY & THE SANDMAN
-AMERICA'S MOST WANTED v. RED SHIRT SECURITY in a Match To Determine The
Number One Contenders to the NWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
-CHRISTOPHER DANIELS/ELIX SKIPPER v. SHANE DOUGLAS in a Handicapped Match.
-SIMON DIAMOND & JOHNNY SWINGER v. GLENN GILBERTI & DAVID YOUNG
-Oh yeah, and JOHNNY FAIRPLAY will be there. Yippe.
See you next week. Remember, questions/comments/concerns to
