  • Austin comments on Iraq visit, book tour

    There’s a saying that some people throw around in the sports-entertainment business: “out of sight, out of mind” – meaning that fans will quickly forget about a Superstar if he or she is not on television.

    This does not seem to be the case for Stone Cold Steve Austin.

    “It’s like I keep saying, I was lucky enough to build up a hell of a fan base,” Austin told WWE.com. “I’ve always said that WWE fans are some of the most loyal fans in the world, but the Stone Cold fans are even more loyal. With everything that has ever happened in my career – the injuries, the walkouts and everything like that – they keep sticking with me when they could have dropped me.”

    Several thousand troops on hand at Camp Victory in Baghdad didn’t seem to mind that the Texas Rattlesnake had been gone from WWE television since Survivor Series in November.
