Two weeks ago Mick Foley walked out on his match with Randy Orton to end, as detailed by the video package complete with sad music. Tonight, however, Shawn Michaels challenges Triple H for the strap and the board of directors decides the fate of Stone Cold Steve Austin. Foley’s music hits, and out walks the Intercontinental Champion Randy Orton to the ring. He calls Mick a coward, but a smart one – because he was running from the Legend Killer. Orton asks Lillian Garcia, looking particularly pleasing tonight, to announce him the winner. She does, and Randy Orton makes her extend it that he is now the new Hardcore Legend. Booker T’s music played his entrance to the stage. Booker T says he made his resolution already, whipping Randy Orton’s ass and become the Intercontinental Champion. From behind, Mark Henry assaulted Booker T, slamming his head into the set. Randy walked up the ramp to the hurt Booker T and accepted the challenge. Backstage, Mark Henry and Teddy Long were bragging over the attack, and Bishoff came over livid. He talks about how important tonight is, with the two title matches and the board deciding on Austin’s fate. Eric says that no one is going to interfere with tonight’s events, but Teddy Long says he wants to collect on the Survivor Series favor. Bishoff accepts, provided they take the night off and let him give it to them next week.

Christmas comes a few days late for the fans the King exclaims when the team of Lita, Stacey Kielber and Trish Stratus take on Molly Holly, Ms. Jackie and Victoria tonight.

Rob Van Dam vs. Scott Steiner
The hot crowd popped to everything Rob through at Steiner. This match was full of impressive spots, including Scott giving Rob a belly to belly off the top rope and a fan waving an NWO shirt in Steiner’s face. Rob would eventually hit his flying side kick followed immediately with a Five* Frog Splash to get the clean victory.

A classic HBK moment aired, Royal Rumble 1997. Shawn stares down and super kicks Sid Vicious (Who they do not name on air) to win the title.

Backstage Christian and Chris Jericho argue over their dispute from two weeks ago. Christian says Chris ditched him for a girl when he has always had his back. The Coach is supposedly back at WWE headquarters, awaiting the meeting of the board. He says that it is rumored that one member, perhaps Linda McMahon, is set to argue for Austin’s return. Vince walks out, invading Raw I suppose, and claims that the member set to argue against Stone Cold’s return is both articulate, very influential and knows Austin very well, himself of course. He likes Coach’s hat. JR brings up Austin embarrassing Vince in Baghdad, which leads to a long music video of the WWE trip to Iraq. Of course, the crowd has a healthy USA chant when the show came back.

The WWE is releasing a CD of wrestlers singing… again. The Dudley Boyz hope their song is the best on the CD. In a previously taped interview segment the Dudleyz say that last week Foley turned into a coward.

The Dudley Boyz vs. Russel Six and Eddy Craver
Ric Flair came down in a striped shirt and Khaki pants to be the guest referee. Bubba taunted Flair during his match with the jobbers, but the Nature Boy had the last laugh. He called for the bell while Bubba was going through his punching combination, saying the Dudleyz used a closed fist punch! The Dudleyz attacked Flair but Batista came down and laid out both the Dudleyz in moments. The Tag Champions posed in the ring.

A classic HBK moment aired, Summerslam 2002. Shawn returned to the ring for a fight and defeated Triple H.

Eric Bishoff had the referees assembled and told them that Ric Flair did exactly as he commanded. Bishoff said he wanted law and order to reign in the WWE. Back at WWE HQ Coach interviews Vince, who said that his speech to the board went relatively well. Vince says that he made it clear that Stone Cold did big things for the WWE, but you cannot live in the past. He says that there is simply no place for Austin anymore. Vince says that he has given the fans everything they have ever wanted, but he treats his beloved fans like children. You cannot give children candy for breakfast, because it is not what is best for them. What is best for the fans, claims Vince, is for Austin never to return. Terri is backstage, interviewing the team of Lita, Stacey and Trish who are decked out in skimp holiday outfits. Stacey dressed up means that Santa got my letter, he is real! Suddenly a car horn sounds and the ladies jump out of the way before Stone Cold backs up over them. Stone Cold says he is here, waiting for a phone call from the board of directors.

Another replay of Mick Foley leaving Raw before his match is shown. Meanwhile, back in his pickup truck the Texas Rattlesnake is drinking, watching his cell phone.

Intercontinental Championship Match, Randy Orton(C) vs. Booker T
Booker T starts the match off in control, showing no signs of wear and tear from the assault by Mark Henry earlier. When Orton takes control, however, JR claims that perhaps the attack did take its toll. The King and JR picked the match apart, which was very basic, looking to see if the referee would disqualify either contestant for just about anything. Booker T looked to have the match won when Kane’s pyrotechnics hit and the Big Red Machine walked out. This distracted Booker long enough to Orton to recover and hit the RKO for the victory. After the match, Kane proceeded to attack Booker T.

A classic HBK moment aired, Survivor Series 2003. Shawn Michaels overcame HHH one more time in the very first elimination chamber to win the WWE championship. Once more we return to Titan Towers, where Linda McMahon has just argued on Austin’s behalf. She says that the WWE listens to its fans, and the fans have spoken. The Coach asks if this has to do with her vendetta against Bishoff. She claims that Austin is there to balance the power of Eric, who does things without any rhyme or reason. Backstage, Jericho approaches Trish Stratus. He gives her a Christmas present, which she asks is supposed to make her forget the bet he had over her, or forget that she had her heart broken. She begins to cry, and Chris says he made a mistake. She made the mistake, she corrects, and walks away.

Still in the pickup truck sits Stone Cold Steve Austin, still drinking behind the wheel of a car. His cell phone rings, but it is not the board of directors.

Six Women Happy Holidays Match: Molly Holly, Ms. Jackie and Victoria vs. Lita, Stacey Kiebler and Trish Stratus
The face side looks absolutely gorgeous. Lita wore the most revealing of the outfits, and showed that all the crushes from the geeky boys of the world have not been misguided. I will not comment about Stacey, I do not have enough space to do so. The match was exactly what one would expect, some harmless T&A. Trish pinned the women’s champion, but after the match Victoria was the one who cleaned house and posed with the belt, acting more than a little insane.

Backstage Austin gets his phone call and it turns out he is back on Raw but as the Co-General Manager. He grows livid, claiming that is not what he wants. He tells them to take their job and shove it before driving off.

A replay of Austin driving off is shown. The King calls Vince a genius, because he knew that Austin would never come back as Co-GM.

WWE Championship Match: Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H(C) w/Ric Flair
The two contestants entered the ring just in time to go to a break.

We return to the match, just started, and the Heartbreak Kid takes control. With the hot hometown crowd behind him Michaels was on fire. He took Hunter out of the ring and skinned the cat back in. From the ring apron Shawn hit a spectacular springboard cross body onto both the Nature Boy and Triple H. Flair was a bit frustrated during the match, as Michaels was in firm control. When Hunter draped a foot over the rope to break an arm bar Michaels kicked the rope into Hunter’s groin. Once more Shawn through Hunter outside and proceeded to give the Champion some vintage Ric Flair chops. Back inside, Michaels has a sleep hold on. Hunter escapes but HBK reverses into a roll up. The Game tried to go on the offensive, but Michaels would counter everything the Champ threw at him. Finally the Game got something to work, launching Michaels over the top turnbuckle to the outside.

    ---Commercial---

During the commercial break Michaels fought his way back to the ring but now Triple H has control. Apparently Shawn hurt his back on the landing outside. Triple H used closed fists to continue his advantage over the challenger. Michaels had a hope spot, but Hunter went to the well again and found water, tossing Michaels over the rope once more. After Hunter impacted HBK into the ring steps the two reentered the ring but HBK kicked out of a pin attempt. Trying to injure the back of HBK further a lateral stretch is applied, with Flair giving Hunter leverage. Michaels hip tossed his way free, but was too hurt to capitalize. Hunter scored a near fall off a knee to the gut (Called a Harley race knee by the King amazingly enough) but just a near fall. Going for a tilt-a-wheel slam HHH ended up on the receiving end of a knee break…. Followed by the Figure 4 Leg-lock! Flair broke it up, not allowing Shawn to win with his move. Once again Triple H threw Michaels outside. When he returned the Heartbreak Kid went to the top rope, but got kicked in the guy one the way down. A Pedigree is reversed into a back body drop though, and the ten count is on. Both men returned to their feet, and Michaels hit a spine buster and literately fell into Hunter’s crotch headfirst. Once again both men are down, but when Michaels returns to his feet he is the one in control. A top rope elbow drop scores perfectly, and it is time to tune up the band. Flair interferes and HBK decks him. The referee is knocked out by HHH, and sweet chin music is blocked into a DDT. Taking the championship belt Hunter decks the challenger, but the count was too slow and Shawn’s shoulder got up. Going for a Pedigree, Shawn reversed into a Boston Crab attempt. Triple H kicked him back and into the referee. Bishoff came down, trying to revive his official. A steel turnbuckle is exposed, but Shawn reverses Triple H into it headfirst. Shawn falls on top of the Game, but the official is still out. Eric Bishoff jumps into the ring and slowly counts a near fall before Hunter gets his shoulder up. Ten punches in the corner from Michaels to the Champion, and another near fall is counted (This time not so slowly) by Eric. Again Bishoff nearly counts the shoulders of Hunter. Triple H got enough momentum to go to the second rope, but ate Shawn’s boot. Hunter tried an Irish whip but Shawn flipped up and down, killing the inertia of the blow. When Hunter charged he ate another boot, this time in the form of sweet chin music. Atop the Champion the challenger fell, and this time Bishoff would count one, two and three! Yet after the match…

Bishoff declared Hunter the winner! He says that both combatants had their shoulders down, so the champion retains. More than a little pissed at the dusty finish Shawn attacks Flair and Bishoff. Eric takes the microphone and fire Shawn for hitting him. Suddenly, Stone Cold’s music hits and in walks the Texas rattlesnake. He says he is back, on his terms and conditions. He immediately rehires Michaels and gives him a rematch. There is a new sheriff in town… and his name is Stone Cold Steve Austin!

    ---End---
An interesting show headlined by an excellent main event. Unfortunately, the Mick Foley storyline was left hanging. The odd thing is, I want to watch next week to find out what happens next. The WWE has done something for the first time in a long time - they left me wanting more.
