Billy Gunn speaks on his injury and his return, HBK honored in San Antonio, more

- Billy Gunn visits SmackDown!
Billy Gunn made the three-hour drive to Jacksonville, Fla., from his home in Orlando and attended SmackDown! this week.
Interestingly, there were two RAW-brand events much closer to his home– in Tampa and in Orlando itself – but Gunn did not appear at either.
“This is my show,” Gunn said of SmackDown! “Not that I don’t have friends over there (on RAW), but I wanted to see my guys.”

- San Antonio city council recognizes Shawn Michaels
Shawn Michaels was honored Thursday by San Antonio Mayor Edward Garza and members of the city council.
The Heartbreak Kid, a San Antonio resident, was awarded a Certificate of Commendation at the city council meeting to recognize his efforts in organizing a major fundraiser for the families of soldiers killed in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

- Palumbo family celebrates capture of Saddam
Chuck Palumbo was sitting in an airport Sunday morning when news broke that U.S. forces had captured Saddam Hussein.
A former member of the Navy, Palumbo dialed his brother, Chris, who joined the Navy at the same time and continues to serve in the armed forces. Chris Palumbo was part of Operation Iraqi Freedom before returning to the U.S. about two months ago.
“He’s just relieved,” Chuck Palumbo said of his brother. “He wants it all to end. He spent seven months over there on the front lines, flying (Blackhawk helicopters). He’s seen it first-hand. So he just wants it to end.”
