Tajiri defeated Kidman to retain the WWE Cruiserweight Title. Kidman set up Tajiri for the shooting star press. Tajiri pushed the referee into the ropes causing Kidman to get straddled. Tajiri spit the mist in Kidman's eyes. Tajiri proceeded to kick Kidman in the head. Tajiri pinned Kidman easily.
Paul Heyman came out insulting the Chicago fans for the demise of ECW. John Cena's music hits, and he cuts a rap about Heyman with a Chicago twist. He was blindsided by Brock Lesnar. Brock kicked Cena several times until Bob Holly attacked Brock from behind. Matt Morgan came down to prevent Holly from continuing his assault. The Big Show also aided Morgan by beating down Holly. Then, Chris Benoit and Rey Misterio Jr. run to the ring clearing the heels out. Heyman says that Bob Holly's suspension has been lifted for the night...as Bob Holly will wrestle someone of his choosing. He sets up a six man tag main event...Brock/Morgan/Show vs. Misterio/Benoit/Cena.
Chuck Polumbo defeated Horshu with a side kick.
Haas and Benjamin defeated Spanky and Paul London via their double team back splash type maneuver...old school oriental express or fabulous rougeous type move.
Orlando Jordan defeated Johnny the Bull with an inside cradle.
Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty defeated Akio and Sakoda when Rikishi piledrived Akio. Yep, there was the worm and the stink face....and the fans went bonkers for both.
Bob Holly defeated Rhyno with the Alabama Slam. Heyman then told him that he would have to leave the building via the building's security force.
Bashams defeated Guerreros. Chavo worked 80% of the match probably due to Eddy's arm injury. In the late moments of the match, Eddy took one back suplex...rolled out of the ring. Chavo fought off the Bashams single handedly. Chavo and Danny were on the outside. Eddy walked back in the ring and cheared on from the inside. Doug rolled up Eddy for an easy three count.
Sable backs down from the teddy beauty contest which featured Dawn Marie vs. Tori Wilson vs. Blind Nidia...and due to fan response...Tori Wilson wins the contest and survives a cat fight with Dawn Marie.
Cena, Benoit, and Misterio defeated Brock, Big Show, and Morgan when Cena gave the FU to the Big Show. Meanwhile, Benoit put the crossface on Lesnar preventing his intereference. Cena did another freestyle or two for the fans to end the show.
Some wild fans in our section made the evening humorous and entertaining...the overall professional wrestling was not too spectacular. There were some signs of good work displayed by Spanky and London in their match with Haas and Benjamin.
I felt some of the matches seemed to be in slow motion. Bob Holly/Rhyno match was very forgetable and lackluster. Tajiri worked well with Kidman.
The tag title match was lacking with limited Eddy Guerrero presence involved. The main event had some good moments...fans enjoyed the offensive flurry by the faces including the 619, crossface, and FU. The crowd of five to six thousand seemed to be very entertained by the lively personalities and performance by rikishi and scotty 2 hotty.
Well, if you go to these shows with the right friends and family, then it can make all the difference in the world. If I had to see this by myself, then I would not be thinking as favorably about the show now that it is over. WWE...thanks for trying.
