WrestleMania XX to be five hours?, Austin's WrestleMania opponent revealed, more

- There is currently backstage discussion to make the WrestleMania XX PPV a five-hour event.
For the past several years, WrestleMania has been four hours, but since WrestleMania XX is set to be a special event, WWE is talking about making it an hour longer.
The extra hour will consist of video highlights from past WrestleMania events. However, instead of running them all during one hour, the plan is for the highlights to be scattered throughout the show.
While this is the idea on the table, it's not confirmed, largely because WWE fears the live crowd may be tired and bored by the end of the show, killing heat on the main event.
- The latest on Hogan is that Vince McMahon is said to be all for having The Hulkster return at WrestleMania. While no deal has been reached, Vince does feel Hogan belongs at the event, contrary to original reports.
Right now, the only thing that could totally sour Vince on the idea of having Hogan return is if TNA runs their big PPV in February, and Hogan headlines the show. Vince would not want Hogan to then appear on WWE a month later, as it would look like he's "coming off TNA", and WWE was his second option.
- The latest talk going around backstage is that Steve Austin will indeed be wrestling at WrestleMania XX.
While it's not definite, as WWE will need to see how his health holds up, the current plan is for Steve Austin to take on Vince McMahon. That was pretty much WWE's defining storyline in recent memory, and WWE feels that a match between the two at WrestleMania XX would make the night even more spectacular than it's already shaping up to be.
It is not known whether his upcoming return to WWE TV will set-up the match storyline, or if WWE will wait on setting it up until February.
Steve Austin vs. Vince McMahon is looking most likely, but the other obvious rumors for opponents are Goldberg and Jericho. We'll have to wait and see how this plays out, but McMahon's name is what keeps coming up backstage for an opponent.
