The Big News: If you watch this show on replay, go ahead and skip it this
week. Other than that, HULK HOGAN is injured and BOUND FOR GLORY is
postponed. JIMMY HART is bringing someone to the Asylum on Wednesday to
take out JEFF JARRETT, plus RAVEN faces VAMPIRO in a GALLOWS OF RETRIBUTION
MATCH, which basically will end when one of the guys in hung from the ring
    and passes out.

Match Results: David Young p. Jimmy Rave, Abyss p. C.B. Cane, "The
Franchise" Shane Douglas p. Brian Gamble

    Overview:

Let Us Take You Back... JEFF JARRETT beats up JIMMY HART then takes a page
from the GUERRERO family playbook and cheats to win the NWA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP.

JEREMY BORASH & MIKE TENAY are chatting. They talk about HULK HOGAN. HOGAN
has signed with TNA, but was injured when JARRETT attacked him. TENAY tells
us that BOUND FOR GLORY has been rescheduled. This of course is a segway to
the six man tag from Wednesday...

Let Us Take You Back... 3 LIVE KRU defeats EKMO, JOE E. LEGEND, & SONNY
SIAKI with TRINITY. Only the finish airs.

Let Us Take You Back... SCOTT HUDSON interviews EKMO, JOE E. LEGEND, SONNY
SIAKI, & TRINITY. STYLES won't talk to them. For shame.

NWA TOTAL NONSTOP ACTION video montage. They love airing this thing. The
nice rip of SYSTEM OF A DOWN plays to highlights. Goodie.

Back from Commercial with JEREMY BORASH & MIKE TENAY. BORASH shills us on
buying NWA TOTAL NONSTOP ACTION on pay-per-view. They talk about JIMMY
HART's surprise for JEFF JARRETT... well, if it's anyone but MENG or THE
BARBARIAN, I think it'll get a weak reaction and come off pretty oddly. I
mean... BRIAN KNOBS? BRUTUS BEEFCAKE? HONKY TONK MAN? The "biggest" and
"baddest" guys HART managed (well in WWF/WCW) are under WWE contract right
now (BIG SHOW, BILL DEMOTT)... This segways to the tag title stuff from
    Wednesday.

Let Us Take You Back... NWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: SIMON DIAMOND &
JOHNNY SWINGER defeat DANNY DORING & ROADKILL. The finish is aired starting
    with ROADKILL's Dirt Road Slam.

Let Us Take You Back... SCOTT HUDSON interviews NWA WORLD TAG TEAM
CHAMPIONS: SIMON DIAMOND & JOHNNY SWINGER with "GIFTED" GLENN GILBERTI (is
he still Gifted?) & DAVID YOUNG. They air the interview in full. THE
NATURALS are set to take on AMERICA'S MOST WANTED...

Let Us Take You Back... AMERICA'S MOST WANTED defeats THE NATURALS from
Wednesday. They air more of this match than they normally would, starting
with the NATURALS win thanks to GILBERTI & YOUNG leading to the restart.
This match is also important because of the post match brawl which sets up
RED SHIRT SECURITY v. DON HARRIS & ERIK WATTS.

Exclusive Footage: GOLDYLOCKS is walking! Wow! She walks up to TERRY TAYLOR
and MIKE POSEY and thanks TAYLOR, hugging him for whatever he did for her
on Saturday. RED SHIRT SECURITY stops and corners SKANKYLOCKS. KEVIN
NORTHCUTT says that WATTS isn't in charge, but CALLIS is. NORTHCUTT tells
SLUTTYLOCKS that he's going to turn WATTS into a missing person. The end.

MATCH #1: DAVID YOUNG with "GIFTED" GLENN GILBERTI v. JIMMY RAVE

Woo! WILDSIDE explodes on TNA. JIMMY RAVE, obviously, was too busy with his
RING OF HONOR commitments to show up at FRIGHT NIGHT 2003 on Saturday
Night. The show was a blast, if anyone cares. I should have all 120ish
pictures from the evening sorted through soon, so look for a pimp in my MLW
report... YOUNG starts off with clubbing blows to the back of RAVE's head.
Then fires away with rights, flooring RAVE. Right. Whip, but RAVE gets a
sunset flip for two. YOUNG gets a clothesline. YOUNG with a whip again.
YOUNG tries a hip toss, but RAVE reverses it into an inverted body scissors
into a victory roll for two again. DON WEST on commentary puts over that
YOUNG is working a totally different style of match in order to impress
GILBERTI. Kick by RAVE, then a nice snap mare. RAVE hits a nice running
knee to the face of YOUNG. YOUNG rolls to the floor. GILBERTI & YOUNG chat
on the floor, looking pretty heated. Back in, YOUNG misses a clothesline
and eats a boot to the gut. RAVE tries a Tornado DDT after bouncing off the
ropes, but YOUNG reverses it into a release German suplex! YOUNG then hits
a spinning spinebuster for three in 1:24. Wow, that was short. GILBERTI
nails RAVE with the tennis racket as the music plays. TENAY & WEST still
both think that GILBERTI is using YOUNG until someone proves otherwise.

MATCH #1: David Young with "Gifted" Glenn Gilberti d. Jimmy Rave by Pinfall
    (1:24) after a spinning spinebuster.

THERE'S NOTHING ELSE LIKE IT TODAY! TNA TOTAL NONSTOP ACTION on PAY-PER-VIEW.

Back from Commercial with JEREMY BORASH & MIKE TENAY. TENAY puts over RAVEN
    v. VAMPIRO for this coming Wednesday Night in a HANGMAN'S HORROR MATCH.
They talk about JARRETT & HART some more, then TENAY talks about ABYSS &
    KID KASH leading to...

Let Us Take You Back... KID KASH defeats SONJAY DUTT from Wednesday Night.
They air the finish (ummm... ow) and then the complete post match where
ABYSS makes the save for DUTT, then kills him anyways. But hey, based on
that loss, DUTT faces MICHAEL SHANE on Wednesday! Loss = Title Shot! YEAH!

    MATCH #2: ABYSS v. C.B. CANE

During the ring introduction of ABYSS, TENAY says that he has held every
title in IWA (Puerto Rico). This would be false, as ABYSS obviously
couldn't hold the JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP. Other than that,
however, ABYSS has never held the IWA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP or the IWA
INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP. Despite being a "major" player in IWA, ABYSS
was never really given a big run as a singles competitor in terms of a
title hunt or a run. He did hold the HARDCORE BELT & TAG BELTS there, but
those are like holding them in WWE--- everyone holds them. The bell rings.
ABYSS tries a clothesline and misses. Rights by CANE. CANE off the ropes.
CANE ducks a clothesline by ABYSS and tries a dropkick off the opposite
side, but ABYSS swats it away. Another dropkick, which ABYSS just swats.
ABYSS misses a short clothesline, but hits one as CANE comes off the ropes.
ABYSS poses. Boots by ABYSS. KID KASH comes down to the ring. TENAY:
"Almost if on cue..." Oh come on... Turnbuckle smash by ABYSS. Then an over
hand slap to the chest in the corner by ABYSS. ABYSS stares down KASH for a
bit, then chokes CANE in the corner. More staring by ABYSS. He turns around
this time and eats a series of rights. Whip by CANE is reversed. ABYSS hits
a big boot. Whip again by ABYSS then a BLACK HOLE SLAM, corkscrew sidewalk
slam for the pin in 1:43. Wow, they're on speed this week. After the fall,
KID KASH hits the ring and attacks ABYSS. ABYSS fights back and tries to
nail KASH with the Torture Rack Back Breaker, but KASH bolts out and the
    chase is on!

MATCH #2: Abyss d. C.B. Cane by Pinfall (1:43) after "The Black Hole Slam"
    corkscrew sidewalk slam.

JEREMY BORASH & MIKE TENAY are back with us and it's time for THE MOVE OF
THE WEEK (TMOTW). This is new. TMOTW is brought to you by "MACHO MAN" RANDY
SAVAGE's "BE A MAN" CD. Seriously. It's available now at MACHOMAN.COM. They
move of the week is KID KASH's finish of SONJAY DUTT, so they've aired this
move twice in the same segment.

This leads us into an advertisement for SAVAGE's CD. Odd that they'd let
SAVAGE pay for this considering his obsession with HOGAN. Anyways, his CD
is available at K-MART, of all places...

Back from Commercial with JEREMY BORASH & MIKE TENAY. They shill us on
http://www.nwatna.com for all the latest news & gossip. BORASH puts over
the JIMMY HART surprise for JEFF JARRETT this week. BORASH talks about the
X DIVISION situation heating up as well. TENAY mentions SHANE DOUGLAS, then
tosses it to the tape from Wednesday...

Let Us Take You Back... NWA X DIVISION CHAMPION: MICHAEL SHANE defeats
"FALLEN ANGEL" CHRISTOPHER DANIELS and "THE FUTURE" CHRIS SABIN. The last
minute or so airs. SHANE retains and continues to be a pretty lame duck.
Alas. I'm sure we'll all be SHOCKED! and AMAZED! when SHANE ends up being
apart of DOUGLAS' franchise. If it takes TENAY more than five minutes to
mention that DOUGLAS *HATES* SHAWN MICHAELS, then something is wrong...

MATCH #3: "THE FRANCHISE" SHANE DOUGLAS v. BRIAN GAMBLE

DON WEST didn't talk over the introduction this week. I guess he learned
his lesson. They circle to start. WEST says he's pretty sure that either
SABIN, SHANE, or DANIELS would be the guy DOUGLAS wants. TENAY mocks this
saying "Why don't you go out on a limb?" ... Collar and elbow and DOUGLAS
picks an arm, eventually working an arm wringer. DOUGLAS holds a top wrist
lock/arm bar on GAMBLE and even puts pressure on the back of the knee to
drop him to his knees as DOUGLAS stays vertical. GAMBLE fights up to his
feet and DOUGLAS knocks him down and starts choking him with the middle
ring rope. Weak turnbuckle smash by DOUGLAS, then an elbow in the corner.
Then another. Snap mare by DOUGLAS. This leads to DOUGLAS' weekly "rip
apart opponent's face against the ropes" portion of the match. DOUGLAS
works over GAMBLE in the corner some and chokes away. GAMBLE reverses
things in the corner and hits a right, then a series of boots. Rights
again. GAMBLE gets a whip, but DOUGLAS reverses it. On the charge, DOUGLAS
eats a boot. Arm wringer by GAMBLE, then a whip. GAMBLE gets a nice bicycle
kick off of this for two. Whip again by GAMBLE is reversed. GAMBLE ducks
under a double shot by DOUGLAS... and eats a belly to belly for the pin.
Well, looked more like an overhead release, but lord knows what the move
really is when DOUGLAS does it anymore... This gets the pin in 1:54. Of all
the matches, this one got the longest? Is this a sick joke?

MATCH #3: "The Franchise" Shane Douglas d. Brian Gamble by Pinfall (1:54)
after a belly to belly suplex.

TNA TOTAL NONSTOP ACTION on PAY-PER-VIEW PROMO... is cut off. Hmmmmm.

Back from Commercial with JEREMY BORASH & MIKE TENAY. More pimping for
NWATNA.com. More specifically, BORASH is pimping the three DVDs on the site
as well as the other merchandise. BORASH keeps pushing that "still to come"
is STYLES v. JARRETT from Wednesday. TENAY talks about the HULK HOGAN
situation. This leads to us getting the answers from JIMMY HART.

Let Us Take You Back... MIKE TENAY interviews JIMMY HART about HULK HOGAN.
The short? HOGAN has signed, but has a knee injury. BOUND FOR GLORY shall
be rescheduled. JEFF JARRETT shows up and beats up JIMMY HART until A.J.
STYLES makes the save. They air 7:00 of this stuff. I was worried what they
were going to do with like a half hour left.

Back from Commercial with JEREMY BORASH & MIKE TENAY. BORASH shills us on
ordering the pay-per-view. More HOGAN talk. BORASH then chats about RAVEN's
mission to destroy FATHER JAMES MITCHELL & THE DISCIPLES OF THE NEW CHURCH.
TENAY says that RAVEN has completed two steps and all that is left is EL
VAMPIRO. In order to explain the rules, TENAY tosses it to the footage...

Let Us Take You Back... SCOTT HUDSON interviews FATHER JAMES MITCHELL &
SLASH. The entire interview is aired. We find out that RAVEN did something
to MITCHELL in the past... only like months into this feud.

Let Us Take You Back... RAVEN defeats SLASH in a DOG COLLAR MATCH. The
finish airs, then RAVEN choking SLASH post match. Notably, SLASH had a
pretty large bandage on his head for his match at WILDSIDE on Saturday
night. EL VAMPIRO attacks RAVEN post match and blinds him with mist. THE
GATHERING make the save and RAVEN is pissed off.

Let Us Take You Back... DON WEST & MIKE TENAY are hard selling next week,
when RAVEN shows up and puts over the DOG COLLAR MATCH saying he's going to
take it the next level. Despite being shilled as something else, the
graphic calls the match a GALLOWS OF RETRIBUTION MATCH, as RAVEN does.
Urgh. Consistency is all I ask. Quote The Raven... Nevermo--- commercial.

Back from Commercial with JEREMY BORASH & MIKE TENAY. BORASH again calls
the match between RAVEN and VAMPIRO "HANGMAN'S HORROR" ... This leads to
TENAY talking about A.J. STYLES and JEFF JARRETT. TENAY says that VINCE
RUSSO & STYLES have "lots of power as World Champions." Urgh. No RUSSO this
    week.

Let Us Take You Back... SCOTT HUDSON interviews NWA WORLD CHAMPION: A.J.
STYLES. STYLES plans on doing this on his own. EKMO, JOE E. LEGEND, SONNY
SIAKI, & TRINITY show up and they say they're all behind him. STYLES asks
them to stay out of his way.

Let Us Take You Back... SCOTT HUDSON is in the back and eventually
interviews JEFF JARRETT. "THE AMERICAN DREAM" DUSTY RHODES offers to stop
any interference for JARRETT. Again, the entire interview airs.

TNA TOTAL NONSTOP ACTION on PAY-PER-VIEW PROMO

Back from Commercial with JEREMY BORASH & MIKE TENAY. Another shill for the
Pay-Per-View. They run down the card: DON HARRIS & ERIK WATTS v. RED SHIRT
SECURITY (KEVIN NORTHCUTT & RYAN WILSON), RAVEN v. EL VAMPIRO in "HANGMAN'S
HORROR" (which RAVEN is calling a GALLOWS OF RETRIBUTION MATCH)... plus
JIMMY HART is bringing someone to the Asylum to take out JEFF JARRETT. This
leads to BORASH setting the stage for the NWA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP Match.

Let Us Take You Back... JEFF JARRETT defeats NWA WORLD CHAMPION: A.J.
STYLES to win the NWA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP for the second time. The last 90
seconds or so airs, starting with STYLES trying to guillotine leg drop
using the chair. They clip to the interview to close the show and stuff
with JIMMY HART talking about how he'll be bringing someone to TNA for revenge.

DON CALLIS & RED SHIRT SECURITY come to congratulate NWA WORLD CHAMPION:
JEFF JARRETT. JARRETT wants CALLIS' word that the RED SHIRTS will be
    watching his back. End show.

Grade: C. Three matches, 6 minutes. The rest of the show was almost
ENTIRELY recaps this week with very little in the way of exclusive
material. Catching BORASH & TENAY shilling the same stuff for an hour
doesn't count as new material either. All this excitement about getting
XPLOSION in so many new markets, but I don't really think that the show
really accomplishes what they wish it to. The JIMMY HART thing is fine, but
other than that the show didn't hard sell anything other than VAMPIRO v.
RAVEN for the show. This show just really did nothing for me this week. I
don't think it did as good as a job of putting over all the story lines and
the importance of everything going on as in the last couple of weeks.

Best Match: Slim pickings, but YOUNG v. RAVE was pretty decent as far as
    matches under 2 minutes go.

Worst Match: SHANE. DOUGLAS. RETIRE. NOW.

    This week's NWA TNA:

    Hyped:
-RAVEN v. EL VAMPIRO in a GALLOWS OF RETRIBUTION MATCH/HANGMAN'S HORROR
-DON HARRIS & ERIK WATTS v. RED SHIRT SECURITY (KEVIN NORTHCUTT/RYAN WILSON)
-JIMMY HART is bringing someone to take out JEFF JARRETT. Odds are that
they won't have a match this week, however. So...

Matches You Couldn't Tell From This Show:
-MICHAEL SHANE v. SONJAY DUTT for the X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP
    -ABYSS v. KID KASH
-AMERICA'S MOST WANTED v. "GIFTED" GLENN GILBERTI & DAVID YOUNG

    See you next week...
