    IWA Total Impact
Episode #17 - No Different Versions This Week
    Air Date: 10/24/03
By: Michael M. Langan II, mrnewz@newzbytes.org
    AIM/AOL: MrNEWZ

The BIG NEWS: They are no longer chopping up old episodes, but airing them
in full without the proper new sounds and old commentary. These shows also
take place in between shows we've already seen, so it should be exciting!
Next week, RAY GONZALEZ faces MIGUEL PEREZ, JR. for (what I presume as) the
IWA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, however this wasn't specified and GONZALEZ might
not have the belt yet. BANDERAS appeared this week, however, and wasn't
identified as the champion, which would lead one to believe that GONZALEZ
is (plus NORIEGA is JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION at this point, which
occurred two weeks after GONZALEZ' title win). Whew. Also next week, SLASH
VENOM continues his world tour to put over *EVERYONE*... "BLISS" (that's
what MANTEL said)... Plus, "EL LOBO" ANDY ANDERSON & ANARCHY return.

Match Results: "Mr. San Jaun" Tommy Diablo & Stefano (X) d. Anarchy & Super
Mark (O), Classic Match: Kevin Von Erich p. Sheik Braddock, IWA Junior
Heavyweight Champion: Noriega p. El Paparrazi, IWA Hardcore Champion: Ricky
    Banderas & Nord (X) d. Abyss (O) & Shane

    Overview:

Grab your ringside seat and come on down! The best hits! Flips! Slams! and
Pins! are on IWA TOTAL IMPACT! Wow, even gone, BRIAN WEBSTER haunts me.
    Nightmares!

MATCH #1: "MR. SAN JUAN" TOMMY DIABLO & STEFANO v. ANARCHY & SUPER MARK
    with HABANA

"DIRTY" DUTCH MANTEL & MARIO SAVOLDI open the show as "MR. SAN JUAN" TOMMY
DIABLO makes his way to the ring. For thos that care, yes we're still on
the episodes of IWA stuff that MANTEL & SAVOLDI apparently over-dubbed with
English commentary, however all the bells and whistles (like graphics,
uniform sound/music, etc.) were never placed on the footage. It is also
important to note that the 2 weeks of episodes that aired chopped over
three weeks (along with BANDERAS v. APOLO) are now behind us and we're
stuck in between those episodes and what happened between IWA WORLD
CHAMPION, RAY GONZALEZ & APOLO in their contest (which "really" happened in
July). Whew. MANTEL says it's a great week to be alive. He goes on to say
that it's always good to wake up in the morning and know he can fake
another death. Seriously. Anyways, EL STEFANO comes out next for this tag
team match-up... MANTEL, despite in Week 1 & 2 pronouncing it differently
(which in real time had to be dubbed first), is now pronouncing it
STEF-A-NO... Originally he was pronouncing it STEF-AN-O ... I hope that
last sentence makes sense... STEFANO does the WEDDING WATER SPIT. He
apparently wasn't invited... MANTEL says these Junior Heavyweights have
"made the show", but not really... MANTEL rants about the fan clubs and
says that everyone has a fan club even going so far as to say that he had
one once until it disbanded due to the death of the gentleman in it. Wow,
MANTEL is certainly fixated on death this week. This is particularly odd
considering the show was dubbed *FOREVER* ago and yet HAWK & STU HART died
in the last 10 days... Well, to further show how far behind this footage
is, HABANA is with ANARCHY & SUPER MARK (and no, he's not an internet dork
in wrestling trunks)... HABANA has retired from wrestling for some time
now, if I recall correctly... MANTEL puts over that both HABANA & AVBRIELA
have, at some point, been with THE BOSS (SAVIO VEGA)... MANTEL questions
why someone who's bald, "kind of overweight", smokes a big cigar, etc. like
VEGA gets all these "hot women"... SAVOLDI says you get what you pay for...
Well, there was no opening bell, so I' calling the starting point where it
looks like the referee is calling for it. ANARCHY & STEFANO start. They
circle. Collar and elbow into an arm wringer by ANARCHY. ANARCHY works in a
go behind, negotiating a Hammerlock... No mention of STEFANO & ANGEL
(manager who's always with THE BOSS' guys) losing to ANARCHY & HABANA in
Week #2 (taped as a part of Week #1)... STEFANO reverses things and gets a
hammerlock of his own... They break. STEFANO hides in the ropes and makes
faces at ANARCHY as the referee holds ANARCHY back... They circle some
more. Collar and elbow, but this time it's STEFANO with the arm wringer.
STEFANO works into a hammerlock and ANARCHY tries to fight out... ANARCHY
reverses it and begins to slap STEFANO in the back of the head repeatedly,
causing STEFANO to get away. STEFANO points! Stalling. Shove by ANARCHY,
then one by STEFANO. MANTEL tells us that today's main event is ABYSS &
SHANE v. RICKY BANDERAS & NORD... STEFANO slaps ANARCHY. ANARCHY gets all
stoic and the crowd gets behind him as he chases after STEFANO, who runs
about like RICO... STEFANO gets to the ropes, of course and the referee has
to hold ANARCHY back. STEFANO tries a boot, but ANARCHY catches it. He
plays with STEFANO a bit, signalling to the crowd and spins STEFANO around.
STEFANO ducks a clothesline attempt and celebrates, so ANARCHY slaps him on
the ass. You know, this really wasn't what one might expect out of a Junior
Heavyweight Division... Deep arm drag take over by ANARCHY on STEFANO into
an arm bar. DIABLO makes a stink over in the corner and the referee goes to
calm him down, allowing ANARCHY to signal for SUPER MARK to come in and
swap places with him, which he does. MARK works in the arm bar. STEFANO
gets to his knees and MARK drives an elbow into the shoulder. Whip by MARK
is reversed. MARK gets a leap frog over STEFANO, who ducks his head for a
back body drop... MARK goes for something, but STEFANO tells him to stop
and he stalls and taunts the crowd. This of course must be code for "smack
my ass", which MARK does. STEFANO charges and MARK gets a deep arm drag
into an arm bar. DIABLO again makes a stink, and the switcheroo occurs
again, and ANARCHY drives a knee to the arm of STEFANO before locking the
arm bar back in. MANTEL notes this, but doesn't note that now ANARCHY is
technically back in, so he's legal. ;-) ... ANARCHY holds the arm bar on
for a while with not a whole lot going on by crowd taunting and DIABLO in
the corner going crazy... DIABLO gets into the ring and the referee goes to
yell at him. ANARCHY extends his hand for a tag, but MARK is already in the
ring. Double cross corner whip. MARK whips ANARCHY into the corner and
ANARCHY hits a spinning heel kick in the corner... STEFANO slumps in the
corner, so HABANA comes into the ring and hits the worst BRONCO BUSTER this
side of TYGRESS. TYGRESS at least got a corner to corner running start,
though. HABANA just kind of plopped down... I guess. Weird. HABANA gets a
kick to the crotch of STEFANO as she gets off of him. The referee turns
around and doesn't even question why HABANA is standing around in the ring.
Well, that's just bad... DIABLO gets a tag during HABANA's exit from the
ring. DIABLO charges both MARK & ANARCHY (still both in the ring) and
crotches himself over the middle turnbuckle in the corner. Oh yes, it's
    commercial time.

IWA ON TOUR! www.iwawrestlingusa.net is still in Spanish! YEAH!
http://www.mycatsboots.com/endofworld.swf --- however, is not! Would you
like to find out how to have IWA come to your hometown? You can visit that
site (learn to speak Spanish) or call 973-887-2698 or e-mail tvsynd@aol.com
    ! Wow!

OLD BUMPER~! brings us back and STEFANO is on the floor. DIABLO is in the
ring bouncing up and down like one of those weird toy birds that drinks
water. DIABLO, however, is over selling the crotching in the corner,
though. ANARCHY mocks him, which leads to DIABLO trying a clothesline,
missing, and getting an atomic drop for his troubles. MANTEL calls this a
knee drop. ANARCHY misses two clotheslines and hits the ropes when STEFANO
trips him from the floor. DIABLO gets a seated dropkick to the face of
ANARCHY. Up until that point, I was groaning at the thought of there even
being more to this match, as it's been pretty bad... DIABLO nails MARK on
the apron, drawing him in. The referee holds MARK back as DIABLO & STEFANO
put the boots to ANARCHY (which has thus far been established as the only
guy in this match who can actually work, as DIABLO quickly exits, not
getting much of anything in). STEFANO taunts the crowd for a bit, pulls
ANARCHY up and floors him with a forearm shot. More taunting. Here's
another shot for MARK. Referee is distracted and STEFANO just stands there
when DIABLO comes in, picks a leg, then drives the elbow to the leg/groin
of ANARCHY. What, no heel double teaming? DIABLO jaws with HABANA on the
floor. For the love of your God, this match started about 8 minutes ago
(sure 1:30 was commercials, :30 was the promo, but still)... DIABLO pulls
ANARCHY up and hits a turnbuckle smash. DIABLO liked it so much he drags
ANARCHY across the ring and does it there too... DIABLO does another
instead of dragging him and ANARCHY "wakes up"... DIABLO does a third in
the same corner and ANARCHY will have none of it. ANARCHY then turnbuckle
smashes DIABLO. DIABLO flops out of the corner quickly and ANARCHY goes
with him across the ring where DIABLO gets turnbuckle smashed there as
well. For something new, ANARCHY takes DIABLO back across the ring and
turnbuckle smashes him again. DIABLO begs off for a second, which means
ANARCHY starts putting the boots to him in the corner. Cross corner whip by
ANARCHY, but DIABLO gets a boot up on the charge. DIABLO hits a fall away
dropkick from the middle turnbuckle on ANARCHY. This gets two for the first
cover of the contest. MARK breaks up the fall. DIABLO taunts MARK and drags
ANARCHY over to his corner. STEFANO waltzes back in as the referee holds
back MARK. Boots to ANARCHY by both men. STEFANO says in and drives some
fists into the head of ANARCHY. More shots by STEFANO, but I'm not sure
what the hell they are... Whip by STEFANO and ANARCHY leap frogs over
STEFANO again. ANARCHY hits a right to the face, that SAVOLDI calls a slap.
Boot to the gut. Leaping spinning Stunner by ANARCHY. I was even going to
joke "Kick-Wham" with the boot... both men are down and we build to the hot
tag. SUPER MARK & TOMMY DIABLO are tagged in. DIABLO eats a pair of
clotheslines, then begs off. Just end it already. MARK checks with the
crowd, then boots DIABLO (who's on his knees). Whip by MARK. MARK misses a
clothesline, but gets a back body drop off the opposite side. MARK hits a
bulldog after bouncing off the ropes which MANTEL calls (I swear to God) "a
drive in face bust"... You mean to tell me that MANTEL has worked in the
business for as long as he has and has *NO CLUE* what a bulldog is?!? I
mean, he worked in GA/AL for how long? ARGH that's just embarassing... MARK
covers, but gets up from it just after one as STEFANO tries to break things
up. STEFANO goes for an elbow and MARK moves out of the way so STEFANO
nails DIABLO. MARK covers again, and moves off again at one so STEFANO can
drive another elbow into his own partner. Both DIABLO & STEFANO stand back
up and look at each other. MARK tries for a double noggin' knocker, but
DIABLO & STEFANO fight out. ANARCHY comes in and hits the noggin' knocker.
They pair off in opposite corners. ANARCHY with DIABLO and MARK with
STEFANO. STEFANO is eating boots in the corner as ANARCHY plays to the
crowd. Do you *SENSE* a trend here? ANARCHY & MARK both start working over
their opponents with rights. MANTEL says that now we're seeing why these
guys aren't as "up" as they have had a chance to make the pin and they
don't. I just assumed it was the fact that the booker (no names mentioned)
has some green rookies working comedy matches in leui of building an actual
Junior Heavyweight Division. I dunno, could be me (before you e-mail, it's
not)... Both ANARCHY & MARK whip the heels to the center of the ring, where
DIABLO & STEFANO collide. SAVOLDI responds to MANTEL saying that it's lack
of experience. Oh, how cliche... ANARCHY hits a single leg dropkick on
DIABLO, knocking him to the floor. ANARCHY follows him out as MARK boots
STEFANO in the gut, then works him over with rights. IWA TRADE MARK
BRAWLING. STEFANO gets control in the ring as the referee watches ANARCHY &
DIABLO roam about ringside. HABANA comes in and STEFANO catches her. HABANA
slaps STEFANO and MARK spends forever setting up his roll-up for a false
finish at two. DIABLO shoots ANARCHY into the corner ring post. MARK places
STEFANO on the top turnbuckle... DIABLO hits the ring and hits SLICED BREAD
#2!~! on MARK (DIABLO has talent, but it's very obvious from putting all
the work on STEFANO in the match how much experience DIABLO has at this
point)...ANARCHY places MARK in position and STEFANO hits a guillotine leg
drop from the top turnbuckle for the pinfall in 10:09 TV Time. Thank you.
Just not a whole lot there, some nice spots from DIABLO and good work from
ANARCHY, but he could hardly carry the load of three loads in this one
(HABANA, not DIABLO)... The heels work over MARK after the finish as MANTEL
tells SAVOLDI that DIABLO & STEFANO got the win even despite the
interference of HABANA. MANTEL puts over that if ANGEL interfered, SAVOLDI
would be complaining and he didn't hear SAVOLDI say anything when HABANA
interfered (in fact, the entire match was booked ass backwards other than
the heat getting spots as the faces worked as what would have been heels in
the '80s/Early '90s and the heels worked as faces). ANARCHY hits the ring
and levels DIABLO with a nice superkick. Boot to the mid-section, then a
superkick for STEFANO after a whip. The heels live to fight another day.

MATCH #1: "Mr. San Juan" Tommy Diablo & Stefano d. Anarchy & Super Mark
with Habana by Pinfall (10:09 TV Time) when Stefano pinned Mark after a
guillotine leg drop from the top turnbuckle.

MATCH #2: CLASSIC MATCH: KEVIN VON ERICH v. SHEIK BRADDOCK

Ah yes, you can tell they didn't edit any of this footage as they run the
bumpers from those fun DVDs that these matches come from. They barely give
the graphic noting the match any time as VON ERICH comes into the ring. The
only thing I'm trying to figure out is why they want to spell SHEIK
"SHEIKH" in the graphic--- Did I miss some spelling lessons or something
back in the Texas days of the USWA? Ah well. It's always fun to start a
classic match with the announcer pimping the TV main event that the fans
will never see. First start out with "Earlier we saw the footage of that
brutal strapping of JEFF JARRETT by P.Y. CHUI..." then finish with "the
main event today is going to be a leather strap on a pole match!" ... Just
not another "Junior Heavyweight" comedy match and we'll be okay, I think.
They circle to start. I don't think I've ever seen *KEVIN* VON ERICH
wrestle, so this is something different. I swear, he is the pastiest white
guy ever. No boots either and white trunks. Well, other than the boots
thing, I have a feeling the VON ERICH estate will be calling BRYAN
DANIELSON soon... Collar and elbow and VON ERICH gets BRADDOCK to the
corner. Clean break. Circling. They stand off and do the old "slap the out
stretched hand to ease into the match" spot. This goes on for a bit before
BRADDOCK gives up and wants a test of strength. Well, VON ERICH is
screwed. VON ERICH gives it to them and they seem pretty even (WHAT?!?)...
VON ERICH kicks his foot over one of the arm and breaks hit getting a head
scissors take over that would today be called a botched hurricanrana. Right
by VON ERICH. VON ERICH gets quickly to the middle ring rope and drives an
elbow to the head of BRADDOCK from there. BRADDOCK beags off and we go back
to the test of strength. That WACKY KID~! VON ERICH dropkicks BRADDOCK and
he goes to the floor. BRADDOCK kills time on the arena floor. Back in, they
circle. Collar and elbow, which VON ERICH gets the better of, backing
BRADDOCK to the ropes. Whip by VON ERICH into a drop toe hold. VON ERICH
works this in the leg portion of an STF. VON ERICH drives the legs of
BRADDOCK and works with it, then tries an STF, but finally gives up and
moves his body to the side of BRADDOCK holding the cross leg vine. VON
ERICH works this a bit, then works into an STF. BRADDOCK breaks it by
biting the hand of VON ERICH, which the announcers totally miss. My how
times don't change. Boot by ERICH, then an over the head right. VON ERICH
rocks BRADDOCK against the ropes and works in a knee lift. Snap mare by VON
ERICH into a reverse chinlock. They put over KERRY VON ERICH on commentary
saying that KEVIN is trying to make a name for himself in the sport. VON
ERICH negotiates a body scissors and they work the mat a bit with that. The
crowd is chanting something, which is totally the opposite of what you'd
expect when the heel has gotten exactly zero offense in 4:00 in... They
work with the body scissors some more, and VON ERICH gets the crowd into
it. Finally VON ERICH gets a half nelson on BRADDOCK with the body scissors
and gets a pinning combination for the slowest two count ever. BRADDOCK
gets back to a seated position, then VON ERICH drags him back down, trying
to work in a face lock. BRADDOCK gets to the ropes. VON ERICH takes a bit
before break. Right by VON ERICH after they get to their feet. BRADDOCK
with his own, but VON ERICH hits another. A third against the ropes, then
BRADDOCK gets an eye gouge. BRADDOCK gets some shots in on VON ERICH in the
corner. Slam by BRADDOCK followed by a corkscrew elbow drop after bouncing
off the ropes. That's especially funny since they were just talking about
BUDDY LANDELL in the commentary being on USWA next week... BRADDOCK pulls
VON ERICH to his knees and VON ERICH gets a punch to the gut. BRADDOCK
nails an elbow to the head. More shots by VON ERICH, who fights back up to
his feet. BRADDOCK gets a boot to the gut. Another elbow to the head.
BRADDOCK tries a double axe handle, and VON ERICH gets some kicks in. VON
ERICH heads to the top and hits a flying forearm from the top on BRADDOCK
for the pinfall in 6:20. Commentary called it an elbow, but it was pretty
clearly a forearm. Regardless, that was the most one sided 6 minute squash
    ever.

MATCH #2: Classic Match: Kevin Von Erich d. Sheik Braddock by Pinfall
(6:20) after a flying forearm from the top turnbuckle.

MATCH #3: IWA JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION: NORIEGA v. EL PAPARRAZI

OLD BUMPER~! Returns us from commercial. IWA JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION,
NORIEGA is walking and slapping hands with the crowd. But wait! The last
time NORIEGA was on IWA TOTAL IMPACT he was *NOT* the JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT
CHAMPION! What, you say? Well, see... IWA decided to continue their
brilliant strategy of airing stuff completely out of order and aired
NORIEGA winning the title in Week #4 (7/25/03). The downside to that was
the fact that the show they aired on 7/25 was taped just *AFTER* the big
Roberto Clemente Stadium show with BANDERAS v. GONZALEZ for the IWA WORLD
CHAMPIONSHIP. So, when they aired that match in Week #7, they also aired
PAPARAZZI's successful defense of the IWA JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
(over NORIEGA, who'd win the belt just two weeks in BAYAMON)... Just a side
note, in checking my spelling of BAYAMON, I found that HABANA is still
prominently featured on the IWA WEBSITE despite no longer worker there.
Good job guys! Anyways, NORIEGA is walking. This means that PAPARRAZI runs
out and attacks NOREIGA from behind to start the match on the floor.
PAPARRAZI works over NOREIGA with punches on the floor. PAPARRAZI taunts
the crowd for a bit. Another right, which floors NORIEGA and leads to more
taunting of the crowd. MANTEL puts over that he thinks NORIEGA won the belt
on a fluke, but doesn't attempt to explain the commentary that weeks ago
had PAPARRAZI and NORIEGA swapping the JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP a
few times (they never did, NORIEGA just beat PAPARRAZI for it). PAPARRAZI,
complete with a blue gi dances about the ring and works in shots on
NORIEGA. PAPARRAZI taunts the crowd. Nice kick by PAPARRAZI, then some more
rights. PAPARRAZI chokes NORIEGA with the gi against the ropes. Wow, if
only DAMON PERRY was here to scream "baby" and make jokes about BAS
RUTTEN's penis... Whip by PAPARRAZI, reverssed by NORIEGA. NORIEGA drops
down, then back again gets a leap frog... PAPARRAZI misses a high cross
body. NORIEGA's turn this time as he charges PAPARRAZI, but leap frogs over
... off the other side (this time PAPARRAZI drops to his
stomach)... NORIEGA tries and hits a high cross body block for two.
Clothesline by PAPARRAZI... MANTEL & SAVOLDI talk about how they want the
young kids to do well, then when they do well and surprise you, you're not
quite sure they're at the level for what they've done (roughly)... this
leads to an extended chat about NORIEGA being trained (or Big Brothered) by
RAY GONZALEZ... PAPARRAZI gets a low blow head butt. Lots of stalling and
taunting, then a choke from a mount by PAPARRAZI... Mounted rights by
PAPARRAZI... PAPARRAZI pulls NORIEGA to his knees and starts working in
kicks to go along with his gi gimmick... Nice round house kick to the back
of NORIEGA. PAPARRAZI takes forever to cover though, doing guess what
instead? Cover only gets two, of course. PAPARRAZI works in the INFAMOUS~!
IWA reverse chinlock as MANTEL puts over RICKY BANDERAS & NORD v. ABYSS &
SHANE from "another location last night" as today's Main Event... NORIEGA
fights up to his knees and starts driving the elbow into PAPARRAZI's gut.
NORIEGA finally breaks free and PAPARRAZI grabs his hair and slam's NORIEGA
down. PAPARRAZI spends the next thirty seconds taunting the crowd. Poor
NORIEGA is getting the ROCKY MAIVIA push here as he's booked to look like a
total loser, as even though PAPARRAZI is getting in some vicious shots and
NORIEGA is surviving, more than 80-90% of this match has been stalling. I
can only imagine why they happened to skip this week before... Chops by
PAPARRAZI after he pulls NORIEGA up... NORIEGA fights back with one of his
own and they start trading open hand slaps. Whip by NORIEGA, but PAPARRAZI
holds onto the top ring rope as NORIEGA tries a dropkick. PAPARRAZI misses
an elbow drop from the middle turnbuckle (wow! No stalling there before
doing it too!) ... NORIEGA nails a splash after bouncing off the ropes,
unfortunately, PAPARRAZI got the knees up and NORIEGA nailed them... Delay
to the cover and it only gets two by PAPARRAZI. NORIEGA starts slapping the
mat to get the crowd behind him. PAPARRAZI whips NORIEGA off the ropes and
that must mean it's time for a COMMERCIAL.

Old bumper returns us once again. In the center of the ring PAPARRAZI has
NORIEGA in a sleeper hold, so they're at least changing up the IWA
tradition here. NORIEGA makes it to the ropes, but PAPARRAZI pulls him off
and they go back to the center of the ring. NORIEGA gets to the ropes
again, rinse repeat. NORIEGA drops to his knees and starts fading fast. Of
course when the referee checks the hand of NORIEGA the third time, he gets
a second wind and fights to his feet. Elbows to the gut of PAPARRAZI by
NORIEGA and NORIEGA breaks free. NORIEGA off the ropes, ducks a clothesline
attempt and nails a boot to the mid-section. If you read the commentary to
the first match, you of course realize that a leaping spinning Stunner is
next, which it is. Double knock down spot and they both slowly get to their
feet. PAPARRAZI tries a right, but it's blocked and NORIEGA just unloads on
PAPARRAZI. Well, it's the face house of fire offense, so... whip... back
body drop... clothesline... clothesline... heel begs off. Wow, I swore I
saw that in the first match. PAPARRAZI misses with a punch. Weird sit-out
spinebuster by NORIEGA, but he can't follow up as he misses a somersault
centon bomb from the top turnbuckle. PAPARRAZI pulls brass knuckles from
his boots and like *ANY* good heel takes the time to make sure that the
crowd sees him very carefully put them on his fist. HABANA comes out upon
seeing this and grabs PAPARRAZI by the arm. PAPARRAZI wins the tug of war
and NORIEGA gets the SMALL PACKAGE OUT OF NOWHERE (tm) for the pinfall in
6:42 TV Time. That match seemed so much longer than that... Wow, NORIEGA
must be thrilled that he and ZACH GOWEN have the same finisher... HABANA
and NORIEGA celebrate on the floor... NORIEGA even kisses a fan at ringside
on the lips. Ooooh. They make the mistake of posing near the entrance way,
which brings STEFANO out from the curtain. He nails NORIEGA, then grabs
HABANA by the throat and drags her to the ring. PAPARRAZI and HABANA have a
stand off as STEFANO goes back to get NORIEGA. STEFANO tosses NORIEGA into
the ring post on the floor. PAPARRAZI kisses HABANA in the ring. HABANA
slaps him and then gets body slammed. This leads to STEFANO & PAPARRAZI
double teaming her and teasing the DUDLEY BOYZ' WASSUP DROP. STEFANO stands
on the top rope forever then drives an elbow to HABANA's leg and crotch.
STEFANO heads again to the top and AVBRIELA finally remembered what her cue
was and thus bolts through the curtain, tossing her shoes to the floor.
Round house kick to the head of PAPARRAZI, then a low blow kick by
AVBRIELA. STEFANO wiffs on a round house, then catches AVBRIELA's kick
attempt. Double leg by STEFANO. PAPARRAZI & STEFANO start to choke
AVBRIELA. HABANA & NORIEGA finally get to their feet. HABANA has grabbed a
Singapore Cane and starts using it. NORIEGA gets a double noggin' knocker
on PAPARRAZI & STEFANO. HABANA with a cane shot to PAPARRAZI and he dives
to the floor. Wow, if only they had shown NORIEGA's title win a few weeks
ago rather than 3 months ago maybe the post match stuff would fall into
place. Similar things happened then, as AVBRIELA and HABANA hated each
other then, however, and they've since put aside their issues through their
relationship with NORIEGA and their hatred for PAPARRAZI & STEFANO.

MATCH #3: IWA Junior Heavyweight Champion: Noriega d. El Paparrazi by
Pinfall (6:42 TV Time) with a small package.

MATCH #4: IWA HARDCORE CHAMPION: RICKY BANDERAS & NORD with FERNANDO TOLOS
    v. ABYSS & SHANE

It's main event time. SAVOLDI puts over that they wouldn't normally be
taping for television in this arena to put over the fact that they used
footage from a different arena, which is refreshing. MANTEL spends the bulk
of NORD's entrance saying that they've already seen the footage, but
they're going to treat it like it's live (oh, so like the entire show?
Gotcha!) ... FERNANDO TOLOS comes out with BANDERAS... Man, these entrances
are long. BANDERAS has what I *BELIEVE* to be the IWA INTERCONTINENTAL
CHAMPIONSHIP, which would mean that this match was taped well after the
others, but lord knows. The Hardcore, IWA, and IC belts all look pretty
much like the old WWF INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP anyways. For the sake
of sanity and how this show has worked, we're going to say it's the
HARDCORE CHAMPIONSHIP that BANDERAS has at this point, which was the belt
he had during the entire run of the ABYSS saga... Faces hit the ring and
the heels take a powder. MANTEL puts over the electricity through the crowd
and in this match. Heels stall on the floor after the bell, then finally
get on the apron as the referee tries to get one of SHANE & ABYSS to leave
the ring to start the match. BANDERAS and SHANE start off. The bell rang
over a minute ago, to give you an idea of how this week's IWA loves
STALLING! They circle. Collar and elbow into a side headlock by BANDERAS.
SHANE shoves BANDERAS off. BANDERAS hits a shoulder block. MANTEL talks
about BANDERAS and Hardcore Matches, so yup... he's the HARDCORE CHAMPION
at this point... BANDERAS off the ropes, leaps over SHANE who drops down,
then ducks a clothesline off the opposite side. Rinse, repeat, then SHANE
hits a high cross body for one (though DUTCH MANTEL counts "one two!"
despite the fact that the count wasn't made like that)... Deep arm drag
take over by SHANE, who works the arm for a second, then drags BANDERAS to
the corner for the tag to ABYSS. BANDERAS will have none of this and
quickly exits the ring as ABYSS charges the corner. ABYSS and BANDERAS &
TOLOS have a stare down from the ring to the floor. NORD enters from behind
and nails ABYSS. Rights by NORD, but ABYSS fights back with shots of his
own. Whip by ABYSS is reversed. NORD tries a right, but ABYSS holds onto
the top ring rope. NORD charges and gets back body dropped to the floor.
SHANE is tagged in. SHANE whips ABYSS, who reverses, allowing SHANE to hit
a flying forearm to the back of BANDERAS (who is on the apron), knocking
BANDERSAS into NORD on the floor. ABYSS then gorilla presses SHANE from the
ring to the floor onto BANDERAS & NORD. Crowd eats all of this up with a
spooon. SHANE tosses BANDERAS into the ring. BANDERAS goes eye to eye with
ABYSS and takes a powder. NORD rolls SHANE into the ring and works him over
with boots. Whip, then a short clothesline by NORD gets two. NORD tags in
BANDERAS. NORD holds SHANE and BANDERAS gets some shots to the ribs. Ah
    yes, COMMERCIAL TIME.

We're back from commercial (thanks Bumper!) and SHANE rocks NORD with a
shot, then has one for BANDERAS on the apron. SHANE does this again, then
charges NORD, who bear hugs him as SHANE tries to make the tag to ABYSS.
ABYSS gets the tag, but it's behind the referee's back, as BANDERAS has
drawn the referee over towards him. As ABYSS argues with the referee, NORD
stun guns SHANE over the top ring rope with the help of BANDERAS from the
apron. This gets a two count when the referee turns around. Turnbuckle
smash by NORD. Series of right jabs by NORD, then a chop. Whoops, NORD just
woke up SHANE. More chops by NORD and SHANE "GLAMOURS UP!" ... SHANE fights
out of the corner with rights. Corner whip by SHANE, reversed. NORD eats a
boot on the charge. NORD ducks a clothesline attempt, then boots SHANE in
the gut. NORD tries a powerbomb, but SHANE fights out of the set up and
hits a Russian Legsweep. Double knock down spot and both men slowly get to
their feet for the hot tag. BANDERAS is tagged first. BANDERAS charges to
try to stop SHANE, but ABYSS is tagged anyway. Stare down between BANDERAS
and ABYSS. BANDERAS begs off. Right by BANDERAS is blocked, ABYSS with a
right of his own. Rinse, repeat. Whip by ABYSS , but he ducks his head
early and BANDERAS gets a right. BANDERAS off the ropes, but this time
ABYSS gets a gorilla press toss out of it and BANDERAS hits the mat hard.
NORD charges out of the corner and ABYSS hits a gorilla press into a Samoan
Drop. ABYSS signals for the chokeslam. He gets BANDERAS, NORD comes over...
and ABYSS gets him as well. BANDERAS & NORD fight out, however. Double
whip, and ABYSS breaks through the double clothesline attempt, then
clotheslines both men. SHANE hits a high cross body block from the top on
NORD, but only gets a two count. ABYSS and BANDERAS are brawling on the
arena floor. Fireman's Carry into an inverted F5 by NORD (NORD drops
SHANE's legs towards him and his face away)... NORD gets a cover, but ABYSS
breaks it up at one. Whip by ABYSS and NORD kicks ABYSS in the face. NORD
bounces off the ropes, but it caught by the throat. Chokeslam by ABYSS gets
two when BANDERAS breaks it up. BANDERAS with rights. Whip by BANDERAS is
reversed. ABYSS tries a pick-up, but BANDERAS floats over an hits his
double handed face slam. BANDERAS signals for raising the dead and heads to
the top. SHANE hits the ropes and crotches BANDERAS, then one handed
bulldogs NORD. ABYSS & SHANE then Rocket Lanuch BANDERAS from the top onto
NORD. SHANE covers with ABYSS pressing down on top, but NORD breaks up the
count at two. BANDERAS & SHANE brawl on the floor. Whip, then a BLACK HOLE
SLAM corkscrew sidewalk slam by ABYSS, but TOLOS is on the ring apron.
ABYSS goes after TOLOS. NORD is back up and has his chain. ABYSS ducks a
chain shot and gets NORD by the throat. BANDERAS comes in from the floor
and nails ABYSS from behind. NORD hits the ropes and nails ABYSS with a
clothesline with the chain for the pinfall in 6:53 TV Time. The heels
celebrate on the floor. Since last week's "next week" was correct, I guess
it means that next week we're getting SLASH VENOM, "EL LOBO" ANDY
ANDERSON, BLISS(?), ANARCHY, and RAY GONZALEZ v. MIGUEL PEREZ, JR.~!

MATCH #4: IWA Hardcore Champion: Ricky Banderas & Nord with Fernando Tolos
    d. Abyss & Shane by Pinfall (6:53 TV Time) when Nord pinned Abyss after a
    clothesline with a chain.

Best Match: The main event was quite good and the crowd was totally into
it. The time is deceiving as the first minute of the match was standing
around, but it was damn good and could have been best match on a good
portion of IWA shows. The KEVIN VON ERICH match was also quite good and
showed once again how well a company can do working an intense in ring
style. Makes me *REALLY* miss the "olden days", some of which I didn't even
    live through.

Worst Match: Well, this week it was a toss up. I normally hate giving worst
matches, but this week both the Junior Heavyweight Bouts were a joke. The
tag team match had two guys with great potential, but was worked as a
stall-fest with comedy. The title match wasn't any better as it served to
only weaken the champion and make PAPARAZZI look storng. This is
particularly lame as PAPARAZZI starts wrestling women soon after that match
to build for his match with AVBRIELA. NORIEGA's reign, as MANTEL puts over,
is short lived as he drops the belt to TOMMY DIABLO not long after this
match. This is especially confusing as DIABLO was made to look like a fool
and STEFANO's move was the move that was put over strong in the tag match.
Urgh. Brain freeze. MANTEL's main story line in IWA works and is damn good,
but using the Juniors as a comedy troupe gets my worst match nod*s* for
this week. 10+ minutes for tons of stalling is especially disheartening,
despite the decent moves here and there and the nice finishing sequence.

Grade: C+ Usually I really enjoy IWA TOTAL IMPACT, but this week's offering
was the weakest offering since the inception of the show. It wasn't a
horrible show by any stretch of the imagination, but 4 of the segments
featured matches that insulted my intelligence. The other three contained a
classic match and the main event, both of which were quite good. Next Week
sounds pretty good as PEREZ & GONZALEZ should tear things up. Since it'll
be HALLOWEEN and I'll be in AUGUSTA next week, the IWA TOTAL IMPACT report
next week should be available SUNDAY EVENING along with the NWA TNA
XPLOSION report. Until SUNDAY for XPLOSION, enjoy your weekend and I should
be back with a report of NWA WILDSIDE'S FRIGHT NIGHT 2003 on
    Saturday/Sunday (hopefully with pictures!)...
