- The WWE are toying around with the idea of bringing in other Japanese talent to be part of the new "Japanese Mafia" group consisting of the WWE Cruiserweight Champion Tajiri, Jimmy Yang, and Ryan "Keiji" Sakoda. The two most obvious candidates would be Kenzo Suzuki of World Japan and the All Japan Pro Wrestling Junior Heavyweight Champion Kendo Ka Shin. Both wrestlers have worked at WWE events before (Shin worked at a TV taping in September, Suzuki worked on the Smackdown tapings yesterday).
- In a couple of updates to the Smackdown-Brand house shows this weekend, Tough Enough 3 winners Matt Cappotelli & John Hennigan will be in in-ring competition against the team of Sean O'Haire and former WCW superstar and current WWE developmental superstar Horsu. The main event for the weekend shows will be Brock Lesnar defending his WWE Championship against "The Crippler" Chris Benoit.
- There will also be some new things happening at the Raw-Brand house shows this weekend. Tommy Dreamer, who has worked as a heel on several house shows lately, will be back on the side of good as he faces Mark Henry. The main event of the shows will feature Rob Van Dam defending his WWE Intercontinental Championship against "Y2J" Chris Jericho in a "King of the World" match. No word yet on what this type of match consists of.
