WWE House Show Results from Portland, Maine 10-19-03

    • The arena was a little less then half full, which is a normal mark for a show in Portland, Maine.

    We begin the evening with the typical announcements by The Fink. We are greeted by Eric Bishoff, who says that all the women in Portland, Maine are ugly and that he doesn't want to be in New England and can't wait to head back to California. He introduces us to his two "best friends," Y2J and Big Poppa Pump Scott Steiner. They insult the crowd in Portland. Bishoff orders a match, giving us Match 1 -- Steiner & Y2J vs Booker T and Maven. Maven takes a beating during the match. He makes the hot tag to Booker T who cleans house, eventually ending the match with the Bookend on Steiner.

    Winners -- Booker T & Maven



    Match 2 -- Lance Storm vs Rico w/Miss Jackie -- This was one of the best matches of the afternoon. Lance Storm, I maintain, is one of the best workers on the Raw Brand. I wish he would get a push and a title shot. Rico is funny to watch, acting gay during the match, even taping Storm and referee Earl Hebner on the rearend. Storm wins with a top rope splash.

    Winner -- Lance Storm

    Match 3 -- Cade & Jindrak vs Richards w/Victoria & Tommy Dreamer -- Dreamer and Richards play the fan favorites in this one. Victoria is very friendly the crowd. However, Cade & Jindrak win this one, pinning Dreamer.

    Winners -- Cade & Jindrak



    Match 4 -- Mark Henry w/Theodore Long vs Val Venis -- Funny spot in this one as Long challenges the Fink to a match. However, Fink retreats to the outside. Val Venis comes out and Long wants to take Henry's place because Mark's "injured." Henry laughs when Long takes his shirt off to reveal the smallest arms that I have ever seen. The match was short as Henry made short work of Val in this one.

    Winner -- Mark Henry w/Theodore Long



    Match 5 -- Kane vs Shane McMahon in a Street Fight -- Kane comes out for our first main event and announces that he's going to treat Shane 'Like the Bitch that he is." Shane comes through the crowd with a kendo stick and gets the early advantage. Kane stops that and beats Shane with the kendo stick. Shane eventually wins with the Van Dominator in this short match.

    Winner -- Shane McMahon



    Match 6 -- Lita & Ivory vs Molly Holly & Gail Kim -- Our one diva match begins the second intermission. No surprise here as Lita dominates after the hot tag, eventually scoring the pin on Molly Holly with the Twist of Fate.

    Winners -- Lita & Ivory



    Match 7 -- Randy Orton w/Ric Flair vs Rob Van Dam for the Intercontinental Title -- Flair is truly loved in Portland. The fans were into him and even though he insulted the crowd, the fans still gave out the respectful Wooosssss. Randy Orton is a big man and will one day be "The Man" in the WWE. Orton even gave Van Dam his RKO, however, Van Dam kicks out. Van Dam hits all of his spots during the match and wins after a kick to a chair that Orton had, knocking out the Legend Killer. Van Dam didn't do the Five-Star Splash, but the fans were definitely into the match.

    Winner & Still Intercontinental Champion -- Rob Van Dam



    Match 8 -- Rene Dupre' and Rob Conway vs the Dudley Boyz for the Tag Team Titles -- The Fink says that Stone Cold Steve Austin has allowed the fans to vote on what kind of match this will be. No surprise as everyone wanted to see a Table Match. The Dudley's controlled most of the match, however Dupre' did get some of his power moves in. Conway is put through the table as the Dudley's keep the titles. They bring a young fan into the ring and present him with a piece of the table as the show ends.

    Winners & Still Tag Team Champs -- The Dudley Boyz


    Overall, not a bad show. The fans were into it and there were not too many boring chants.
