WWE Up Close and Uncensored (Smackdown roster) 8-30-03 Boston, Mass
There were quite a few changes to the card from the original one posted at Fleetcenter.com.
Match #1 WWE Cruiserweight Championship Match Rey Mysterio vs. Nunzio
A hot opener to get the crowd pumped. Mysterio hits the 619 followed up by a springboard splash on Nunzio for the win.
Winner and still CW Champ: Rey Mysterio
Match #2 Jamie "By God" Noble: The Redneck Messiah and Billy Gunn vs. Basham Brothers w/Sheniqua
That's how Tony Chimel announced Noble which I thought was cool. Shitty match. Noble was the one who actually got the hot tag. The end saw Noble with a roll up on Danny while the ref was distracted with Gunn and Doug. Sheniqua enters the ring and I believe hits Noble in the face, but it was so sloppy I couldn't tell what it was suppose to be. This allowed Danny to reverse into a school boy for the win. Noble and Gunn argue about it afterwards and make up while they walk back through the curtain.
Winners: Basham Brothers
Match #3 Mortis vs. Matt Hardy w/Shannon Moore
One of the best matches of the night. Mortis now wears purple and is announced to be from Singapore. Good back and forth action. Hardy attempts a Twist Of Fate, but Mortis sends him into the turnbuckle. Mortis goes up top, but Hardy stops him dead on his tracks and attempts another Twist Of Fate. Mortis pushes him off and the ref gets occupied with Hardy. Moore pulls Mortis' leg and crotches him. Mortis walks into a Twist Of Fate giving Hardy the victory.
Winner: Matt Hardy
Vince and Sable make their way to the ring. Vince says that he was originally the guest referee for the No. 1 Contender's main event tonight, but he decided not to do it. Instead it will be someone to make sure Brock Lesnar is the winner. John Cena is announced as the referee. Vince then goes off on how everyone wishes they were him and that Labor Day Weekend is actually Vince McMahon Weekend. He then has Sable do something to him that all the men and even some of the women would want her to do. He says "Kiss me bitch". Sable kisses him. This is then followed by a passionate kiss. Vince says to hit my music as a pointless segment comes to a close.
Match #4 Billy Kidman and Spanky vs. Chuck Palumbo and Johnny Stamboli w/Nunzio
Nice match with Spanky playing the face in peril. Kidman gets the hot tag and we see some nice spots involving all 4 men. The end had Spanky and Palumbo taking each other out of the ring while Kidman hit the Shooting Star Press on Stamboli.
Winners: Billy Kidman and Spanky
Match #5 Orlando Jordan vs. A-Train
Pretty much the shitty match you'd expect with Jordan getting in some offense. I got a couple laughs after I made my "Hit him with the powerful force of air" comment following A-Train's bicycle kick. A-Train finished off Jordan with the Train Wreck for the win.
Match #6 WWE Tag Team Championship Match APA vs. World's Greatest Tag Team
Very shitty match. Bradshaw takes the mic at the start of the match and asks Benjamin if he's getting double pay cause he was out earlier in the night. He went off about how Benjamin and Sheniqua were the same person as been going on for a couple weeks now. Some funny stuff with Benjamin checking himself to make sure he was male. Even asked that the ref and Haas to check it, but they refused. Match starts off with Haas and Faarooq, but Haas takes the mic and says he's tired of everything Bradshaw has said to his partner and wants a piece of him. Bradshaw tags in and Haas tags out. Bradshaw plays the face in peril in this tag match. At the close of the match Faarooq sets up the Dominator on Haas, but the ref is distracted with Bradshaw so Benjamin comes in super kicks Faarooq allowing Haas to the roll up victory. Following the match, Haas and Benjamin celebrate and decided to dish out more punishment on the APA. Benjamin and Haas send Bradshaw into the turnbuckle. Haas charges him, but he moves. Haas gets a clothesline from Faarooq while Benjamin gets a Clothesline From Hell.
Winners: World's Greatest Tag Team
Intermission
Match #7 Tajiri vs. Rhyno
The best match of the night. Great action packed match. The end saw the two of them try to hit each other with their finishers. Rhyno eventually hit the Gore and got the win.
Winner: Rhyno
Match #8 4 Diva Bikini Contest Torrie Wilson vs. Dawn Marie vs. Nidia vs. Sable
This was hosted by Romero, The Freakin Puerto Rican of Jamn 94.5. Nidia did her white girl dance. The other 3 divas did their usual routine. Romero goes to the crowd to determine the winner. Nidia was first, but Sable said Nidia was looking a little stuffed tonight and pulled something out of her bikini. Nidia left after Sable did that. Romero continues with the judging. I swear Dawn Marie had a louder pop than Torrie did yet she came out the winner. Torrie shakes hands with Dawn Marie and Sable. Sable actually slaps her and Dawn Marie tackles her with a catfight ensuing. Sable just leaves watching them, while Torrie rolls Dawn Marie off of her to the outside.
Winner: Torrie Wilson
Match #9 No. 1 Contender's Triple Threat Match Special ref: John Cena Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar vs. Big Show
Cena comes in and raps about how he's in Boston and appeals to the crowd. He raps about the 3 guys in the match. Funny stuff about Brock and Big Show. He says something good about Taker and then gets a Yankees Suck chant going. They did a lot of the same spots as their match on Smackdown. The end had all of them hitting their finishers. Brock hits Show with the F5. Brock grabs a chair to finish off Taker, but Taker boots the chair into his face. Taker smashes Brock and Show with the chair. Covers Big Show and gets the win.
Winner: Undertaker
Following the match, Brock and Cena get into it. Cena is about to leave while Brock starts to pummel him. Cena makes a come back and hits the FU on Brock. Cena then follows it up with an ankle lock as Brock taps to it.
All in all a decent show.

I attended the Smackdown Brand House Show in Boston, MA on August 30th. It was a pretty good show with a lot of the matches they have been having on the show lately. The Fleetcenter was pretty packed. No seats sold at all for the balcony, but other than that the arena was pretty full. The announcer came out and gave us the usual run down, no throwing things, no touching the guard rail, etc.... And then it was on to the first match. Rey Mysterio (C) vs. Nunzio (Cruiserweight Championship) Match starts out pretty good with Nunzio taking a lot of heat from the crowd. A lot of good high flying moves with Mysterio giving Nunzio an insugeri (spelling?) kick, setting him up for the 619 followed by a splash, picking up the win and retaining the title. Winner : Rey Mysterio Doug and Danny Basham (W/ Shanequi) vs. Billy Gunn and Jamie Noble Pretty quick match with a lot of deceptive "tags" by the Bashams. Towards the end Shanequi whacks Jamie Noble with the whip, allowing one of the Bashums to get the win. After the match, there is an argument between Jamie and Billy, with Billy eventually leaving looking very pissed. Possibly another feud between these two coming up? *sigh* Winners : Basham Brothers A-Train vs Orlando Jordan A-Train actually got some cheers, being from Boston and all. No one really cared about Orlando. All of those cheers he gets on Smackdown are so edited in. Anyway, total squash match with A-Train hitting the Trainwreck, the Derailer, AND the bicycle kick to put Orlando away. Winner : A-Train Chuck Palumbo and Jonny Stamboli (W/ Nunzio) vs. Billy Kidman and Spanky Spanky jobbed for the first five minutes of the match, getting killed by both members of the FBI. Kidman spent a minute or so in the ring before letting Spanky get back in. Somehow Billy got tagged back in and hell broke loose, with Palumbo accidentally superkicking Nunzio and Spanky and Stamboli spilling to the outside while Kidman hit the Shooting Star Press on Palumbo. Good move to see live. People here REALLY hate the FBI. People were yelling obscenities at them the WHOLE match. Winners : Billy Kidman and Spanky Charlie Hass and Shelton Benjamin (C) vs. Faarooq and Bradshaw (Tag Titles) Bradshaw starts the match by accusing Shelton of actually being Shanequa. This leads to the ref checking out Shelton's package and Shelton forcing the ref to touch him. Faarooq spent a total of about 30 seconds in the ring before getting kicked and pinned by Shelton. After the match, the APA tore into the World's Greatest Tag Team, giving both of them Clotheslines from Hell. Winners : Charlie Hass and Shelton Benjamin Rhyno vs. Tajiri Despite Rhyno's heel turn, a lot of people gave him cheers. Not much for Tajiri. Tajiri nailed Rhyno with some pretty good kicks but eventually fell victim to the Gore. Rhyno stomped Tajiri a little after the match and then left. Winner : Rhyno Bikini Contest Nidia vs. Dawn Marie vs. Torrie Wilson vs. Sable Local rap station DJ is hosting the event. All of the girls do their thing and when it comes time to judge, Sable reveals that Nidia stuffed her bikini top, so she is DQ'd. Torrie ends up winning and shakes the hand of Dawn Marie and is slapped by Sable. Dawn Marie and Torrie have a quick cat fight while Sable leaves. Personally, I thought Dawn Marie deserved to win. Big Show vs. Brock Lesnar vs. Undertaker (#1 Contender's Match; Triple Threat; No DQ with special guest referee John Cena) John Cena comes out rapping about how the Yankees suck. He then goes onto rap about how each of the match's combatants suck. Lots of pops for the hometown boy. During the match, all signature moves are hit. Undertaker picks up the win after nailing Big Show with a chair. After the match, Cena and Brock have a stare down and Cena gets the crowd chanting "You tapped out". Brock goes nuts and attacks Cena, only to receive the FU. Poor Brock. Sometime during the show, Vince McMahon came out with Sable and talked about Labor Day and the main event. He basically said Labor Day should be named "Vince McMahon Day" for one reason or another and drew some serious heat. Surprised to see him show up. Overall it was a good show. I was supposed to be on the floor in section F, row 6, but there was a problem in that area so I was upgraded, for free, to floor section B, row 3. Very good. I'm glad I saw a house show as opposed to a televised show as all matches were of very good quality with no non-wrestlers going at it, no interruptions, and no bullshit.
