WWE House Show Results from Hamilton Ontario: 8/17/03

  August 17th, 2003 SmackDown House Show
  Copps Colliseum - Hamilton Ontario
  
  - John Cena comes out to a huge pop, informs us Vince McMahon will not be in the house (thank god). Cena will be the special referee tonite 4 the title match, and battle raps a DJ from the local radio station. DJ bombs,
  John Cena disses him up and gets mad pops. Cena wins due to crowd reaction 100% towards Cena.
  
  - Basham Brothers defeated Jamie Noble & Billy Gunn in the opener. Crowd solidly behind Jamie Noble, and lots of cheers for gunn. Noble was WAY over. Boring match until noble cleaned house, noble does a elbow drop from top rope, Shaniqua hits him in the face with the whip and Doug rolls him up for the victory.
  
  - A-Train defeated Funaki in a squash but funaki got in more offense then usual in squashes. A Train for an odd reason got quite a few chants, A train hit's the derailer for the win.
  
  - Matt Hardy w/Shannon Moore defeated Zach Gowen (Tenacious Z).
  Matt was really over in Hamilton, and Zach was cheered alot and booed by some. Some really rude chants of 'amputee" and 'handicapped' were heard during this match. Very good match, a lot of high flying by zach. After Shannon gets involved Hardy hit's the twist of fate for the win.
  
  - Chris Benoit & Tajiri beat Eddy Guerrero & Rhyno
  Match Of The Night w/o a doubt. Crowd was so into this match. Eddy & Rhyno played great heels working the crowd good. Lots of knife edge chops. Very good wrestling, all finishers and signature moves were hit.
  
  - World's Greatest Tag Team defeated A.P.A via pinfall to retain tag team titles. Bradshaw did a bit where he refused to wrestle Shelton Benjamin cause he "knows" its really Shaniqua. Shelton pulls down tights to Brian Hebner, and the ref tells Bradshaw he saw something big in there. Ok match
  
  - Cruiserweight champ Rey Misterio beat Nunzio, Shannon Moore & Billy Kidman when Nunzio was pinned to retain the title. Very good match, lots of counters and high flying action, at one point rey had all 3 guys ready for 619's but Shannon broke that up. After 4 way chaos, rey and nunzio left in the ring, 6-1-9 and leg drop for the win.
  
  EDGE makes a surprise appearance and says a speech about having his first match here as sexton hardcastle and talks about his injury.
  
  - Torrie Wilson defeated Nidia, Sable and Dawn Marie in a bikini contest. EDGE was the mc for this contest. Awesome to see live, all ladies looked amazing. Edge got some action from all the girls.Torrie won but I felt Dawn should have cause she got by far the loudest pop for her posedown. Cat fight afterwards, Edge leaves with Sable and Nidia and says he has a hotel room to go to.
  
  - WWE Champ Kurt Angle defeated Brock Lesnar & The Big Show when Brock was pinned cleanly after an angle slam and angle slam to big show. Good match. Angle came out and Angle Slammed Cena b4 the match and cena was escorted to
  the back. Lesnar received a good standing ovation after the match.

  1) Worlds Greatest Tag Team (Shaniqua chants to Shelton)

  Notes: Noticeably Spanky was not in the house, I started a WE WANT SPANKY chant, Good show with 4 good matches, MOTN goes to benoit/tajiri vs eddy/rhyno and the other standout match was the 4 way cruiseweight which was a little too short for me. overall
