Here are the results of the Ruthless Aggression show from Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The arena was completely packed, which was around 15, 000 + fans, because the WWE weren't taping it the way they usually would (they only had one camera, which followed the action) so there was more crowd space where the cameras would usually go. The crowd was pretty hot for most of the night, except 5 seconds into a rest hold and a "boring" chant would break out.
The show started off with Fink doing all the usual plugs early on, and then Stacy Keibler come out. She went to take her clothes off which then brought out Eric Bischoff, who then proceeded to hit on her. This then brought out Kane, who then chokeslammed Bischoff then went to chokeslam Stacy but Scott Steiner came running out to save the day.
Test came out (it was basically a set-up) and then the first match was underway. Match 1: Scott Steiner W/ Stacy Keibler Vs. Test This match was actually decent and wasn't all that bad to watch, maybe because it's live, anyway after a few nearfalls Scott Steiner ended up winning after he hit his version of the Flatliner. They then did the "in and out of the ropes" thing on all four sides, so we all got to see Stacy's ass.
Match 2: Spike Dudley Vs. Stevie Richards This match was also pretty good, crowd was really behind Spike, except for in my section, where some of the local wrestlers were backing Richards, which led to some funny comments. Spike ended up winning after he hit the Dudley Dog. Spike made his way to the back while Richards stayed at ringside.
Match 3: Victoria W/Stevie Richards Vs. Trish Of course, a “We want puppies” chant broke out, and the match was half-decent too. The ending came when Victoria distracted the ref while Stevie entered the ring and planted Trish with a DDT, Victoria made the cover and it was all over.
Match 4: Rodney Mack Vs. The Hurricane Rodney Mack came out, talked about how the "white man" held Teddy Long back in the States or something to that effect, no one cared. Then Hurricane came out to a rather big pop, he pointed to me and my Hurricane sign on his way down the aisle, which made me happy, and did the usual giving of the mask to a kid in the front row. However, despite Helms' ability, the match both sucked and blowed. Mack just kept applying resthold after resthold and it was at least 5-7 mins before Helms got in any offense at all. Which brought about many “Boring” chants because Rodney Mack just stunk up the ring. But Hurricane hit the "Eye of the Hurricane" so that was good, but no Vertebreaker tease this time (which he did at Global Warning). Hurricane picked up the win with a Shining Wizard.
Match 5: Tag-Team Championship Match: La Resistance (C) Vs. The Dudley Boyz La Resistance came out first and worked the mic for awhile asking, “What the hell is a wanker? Is that an insult?" They then got a "You are a wanker" chant which made them reply with, "If we were going to insult someone, we’d call them Australian”. The Dudleys then came out to a huge pop and worked the crowd well, the match was pretty good too. La Resistance won after they smacked D-Von with a flag pole. After the match, one of the guys from La Resistance (can't remember which one) said one of the funniest lines of the night. He goes, “You Aussie wankers want tables? We’ll show you tables”. They then set up the tables, but Spike did a runner and hit the Dudley Dog on one of them, the other one reversed it but walked striaght into a 3-D, which led to him being powerbombed through a table. The Dudleys celebrated for awhile afterwards, bringing a little girl from the front row into the ring, she posed with D-Von while Spike to a picture, and she got to keep a chunk of the table. Bubba then went into the crowd to celebrate for awhile, so when all that was over and done with, it was time for...
* Intermission * Match 6: Intercontinental Championship Match: Booker T (C) Vs. Christian Both came out to really good pops, which led to mic work over who was more popular. Pretty good match, basically the usual type of match you'd get from these two. We, of course, got the Spin-a-roonie and Booker T retained the IC title after a scissors kick.
Match 7: Val Venis Vs. Goldust Both men got reasonable pops, Val's one liner had him being compared to Golf, and he finished it off with, "But Ladies, When you go around the rim with the Big Valbowski, it's just as good as a hole in one!" Both men were showing respect to each other after finishing a few spots, and then Val went for a leap-frog and "injured" his quad. He had everyone fooled, because it got to the point when Hebner called for the trainers, and then as Goldust sat on the ropes so Val could get out, Val booted him in the head and the match continued, which drew rather big heat as everyone thought he had really injured himself. Anyway eventually, Goldust missed the "Shattered Dreams" and the Val missed the "Money Shot" and then Goldust picked up the win with a "Curtain Call".
Match 8: Rob Van Dam Vs. Kane RVD got a really big pop and Kane got a decent one too despite playing a heel earlier in the night, his Pyros are awesome live as well. It was a pretty good match with all the usual spots hit and the teasing of a Tombstone. There were many Chokeslams being handed out, but RVD won by DQ after Kane went nuts on the refs. RVD then followed up with a Van Daminator using a chair.
Match 9: Main Event - Randy Orton & Chris Jericho Vs. Kevin Nash & Shawn Michaels Orton and Jericho played the heels well as they wouldn't touch any of the fans despite the fact half of them were cheering for them. Jericho got on the mic and basically rehashed what he had said to us last year which drew a nice amount of heat. Nash got an alright reaction but Shawn Michaels got pop of the night. The match was decent, with minimal Nash, which was a good thing as he didn't really look "into" it. HBK picked up the win after he connected with a Superkick on Y2J. Fink thanked us for coming, and that was that.
