    WWE RAW - 7/28/03

    Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado
Announcing: Jonathan Coachman & Jerry Lawler

Just like he said last night at Vengeance, Vince McMahon showed up on Raw and promised to confront Kane. He said Kane was an animal and he promised all hell would break loose before the night was over.

Booker T & Scott Steiner (with Stacy Keibler) defeated Christian & Test. Nothing too exciting here. Steiner got the role of "face in peril" but everytime he was on the offensive, Test would back away from a tag and only get in the ring when Steiner was down. Midway through the match, Test and Christian slammed Steiner face first into the steps and he went down holding his wrist as the show went to a break. When we came back, Steiner was still getting a beat down but eventually the match turned into a brawl with Christian getting clocked by a big boot from Test on accident. After that, Booker dropped the ax kick on Christian for the win.

Highlights from Friday's SummerSlam press conference were shown where the main event was announced. Eric Bischoff was on hand to introduce Triple H and Goldberg who will be facing off for the title at SummerSlam.

Goldberg defeated Steven Richards. Poor Steven Richards, I seem to say that every week. Ah well. Richards tried some chops which had no effect. Goldberg pressed Richards up over his head and brought him down in a spinbuster. One spear and Jackhammer later and Goldberg was your winner.

After the match, Evolution came out onto the stage. Triple H grabbed a mic and said he was impressed over his win against Richards who is "one hell of a competitor." H warned Goldberg he had no idea what he was getting into when he stepped into the ring with him at SummerSlam. From the ring, Goldberg said why wait and challenged Triple H right there. H replied that he was the champ and he does things when he wants and how he wants. Ric Flair grabbed the mic to reiterate the points that Triple H was getting across. Goldberg then challenged Flair who started to head to the ring but was held off by H and Randy Orton. Amidst all the confusion, Eric Bischoff came out and said there was no way he was letting Goldberg vs. Flair go down without any hype, so he booked that match for next week. Goldberg said he'd have Triple H at SummerSlam, and Flair next week so that meant Flair was next.

Val Venis defeated Rico (with Miss Jackie). Entertaining match due mostly to Rico's antics, wrestling-wise it wasn't anything extraordinary. Jackie tried to interfere but Val kicked her away and hit the Money Shot for the win.

Back in the parking garage, Bischoff announced Kane's arrival. Everyone cleared out except Bischoff and a handful of policemen. They opened up the garage door and a police van backed its way in. An officer went to open the door but Bischoff stopped her and said that Kane was to stay locked up until he got the word from Vince to let him loose.

Chris Jericho made his entrance next for the Highlight Reel. Jericho said how appropriate it was for him to be in Colorado tonight since he's been on a Rocky Mountain High all week after beating Shawn Michaels last Monday. Jericho said he accomplished something no other WWE superstar had before and that was making Michaels tap. Jericho went to the JeriTron 5000 where we saw the finish from said match. Jericho then called out Randy Orton who walked into the ring and presented Jericho with a new Evolution shirt. Jericho asked Orton why he interfered in his match last week and Orton said after screwing Shawn Michaels at Bad Blood and taking out Mick Foley and dubbing himself the Legend Killer, he wanted to make Michaels the next legend to kill. With that, Jericho introduced his next guest, Shawn Michaels. Michaels said Jericho may have evened the score but he'll never be able to beat him on his own. Michaels turned to Orton and mentioned how many kids he's had come into the business promising to end his career. Michaels said he was rich because of guys like that and said he would end Orton's career instead. Jerico stepped in and said he and Michaels weren't done. Michaels agreed and said they could go another round right now. Jericho backed off, changed his mind and said his business with Michaels was done for right now. However, he said he'd take on anyone not named Shawn Michaels. Orton said he'd take on Michaels and the two went at it but it turned into a two-on-one as Jericho jumped into the mix and started assaulting Michaels. Kevin Nash ran in for the save and tossed Jericho out of the ring. Orton bailed as Nash challenged Jericho.

Kevin Nash defeated Chris Jericho via DQ. Standard Nash match with Jericho bumping all over and making it look pretty good for him. Late in the match, Nash went for the powerbomb but Jericho lowblowed him which caused the DQ. Afterwards, Jericho tore off the turnbuckle padding but he ended up being the one sent into it. Nash hit the snake eyes onto it and Jericho was busted open. Nash threw Jericho to the outside where he tore off the padding on the security barrier and whipped Jericho into it. Nash then grabbed the steps but Jericho ducked out before Nash could use them.

Backstage, Rosey told The Hurricane he wasn't too sure about this Super Hero In Training thing because it spells out S.H.I.T. Hurricane said not to worry and they talk about masks (half a mask for Rosey, maybe) and capes, (maybe a beachtowel, said Hurricane). Rosey mentioned superpowers and Hurricane said he must crawl before he can walk. Hurricane flew off and then Rosey tried to as well but uh, he obviously didn't go anywhere.

Meanwhile, the police opened up the doors to give Kane some air but Bischoff stepped in and demanded the doors remained shut until he received word from Vince.

After the break, The Dudley Boyz joined Coachman and Lawler in checking out the next match.

La Résistance defeated Mark Jindrak & Garrison Cade. Midway through the match, Dupree came in with the flagpole and tried to use it which caused D-Von and Bubba Ray to storm to the ring, however a few referees came between the two teams before they could brawl. After a break, we came back to see a decent performance by Jindrak and Cade, but it wasn't enough as Dupree and Grenier hit their still unnamed finisher for the win. After the match, the Dudleyz charged the ring and took out La Résistance. They had Grenier set up for the 3D but Dupree came in and whacked both of them with the flagpole.

Backstage, Bischoff gave the order to release Kane.

Molly Holly defeated Gail Kim to win the WWE Women's Championship. Pretty good match, nothing much different from what we saw the week before last. Molly dominated most of it with Kim getting in a few nice moves here and there. Molly hit her finisher (which was named the Molly Go-Round, not sure if that changed) and got the win.

After the break, Vince was in the ring and he called out Kane who walked out in shackles. Vince got in Kane's face and said it would be real easy to beat the living hell out of him with him in shackles but he ordered the shackles to be removed and told the police officers that their work was done. Kane stepped in the ring as Vince berated him, asking him who the hell he thought he was, piledriving his wife into the steel stage. Vince continued the verbal assault but then realized that he had a monster on his hands. Vince proposed a partnership, Kane and McMahon and that's when Steve Austin came out. Austin announced first that he was staying on as co-GM which meant, by Linda McMahon's standards, that he couldn't beat up and WWE superstars unless he was physically provoked, so Austin tried to provoke Kane. Austin offered Kane a free shot but Kane backed off and Shane McMahon came out. Shane got in the ring and then charged at Kane, clotheslining him over the top. Shane was a flurry of fists on the outside but Vince pulled him off and Kane headed up the ramp. Shane then decked his old man, grabbed a chair and went after Kane. On the stage, Shane cracked Kane with the chair a couple times and then Kane fell off the edge of the stage through some tables and other various equipment. After a brief moment, Kane sat up and laughed about what just happened as the show went off the air.
