Memphis Wrestling: The Home of Rhythm and Bruise
Welcome all, this is Wac, back on the best wrestling site on the internet, the Lords of Pain. We are back for the 11th week of Memphis Wrestling, Live on UPN.
Show starts with usual MW intro, followed by the XWF intro, as we go to Cory Maclin and Brian Teigland standing in the ABC 24 weatherroom. They talk about the bad storm that went through Memphis this past week, knocking out the electricity in over 300,000 homes and businesses. They thank everybody that is still tuning in this week, and note that because of everything going on with the storm cleanup, there will be no matches today, but more of a hype preview show for the August 2nd show at the Mid-South Coliseum. They also state that two wrestlers are returning from suspension this week, that being Jerry Lawler and Brian Christopher!
We then go to the Memphis Wrestling announce table, where Maclin has Lawler with him. They talk about the bad storm that produced 100mph winds, and they joked saying that neither of them still have electricity themselves. They then run down some matches that have been confirmed so far for the Aug. 2nd Coliseum show, with a few being a Buried Alive Casket match with Kamala, Dr. Frank and more, a 20 man Battle Royal in a steel cage, and a strap on a pole match between Shock and Kevin White.
The Naturals then make their way out for an interview with Maclin, but they are sporting a new grunge look with streaks in their hair and face paint, and they kept referring to themselves as the Alternative Express. They talk trash to the Rock 'N' Roll Express about how old and out of style they are, and that their the new and improved tag team of this generation.
After break, Maclin then shows a interview with the Memphis Wrestling CEO, "Handsome" Jimmy Valiant, and Valiant cuts a crazy promo, and ends it by telling Maclin that if he's in trouble too call him, just not collect!
Jimmy Hart and Shock then come out, and Hart immediatley starts making fun of Maclin, and then says that even ESPN realizes he's the greatest wrestling manager ever! He shows footage of a Top 10 list of the best managers of all-time from Sportscenter, and they actually rank him number five!!! Hart then says that he will be in a Dog Food Match at the Coliseum with Jimmy Valiant, where the loser has to eat Alpo Dog Food! Shock then cuts a promo, telling Maclin what he's going to do against Kevin White in the strap on a pole match. Just before break, Brian Teigland runs in with a fax, that states the XWF CEO will make his/her debut at the Coliseum show as well.
After break, they showed a video package higlighting the Kevin White & Bill Dundee fued against Shock and Jimmy Hart. White, Mr. White and Bill Dundee then come out for an interview and Dundee is all excited about the "Rumble in the Roundhouse" and Kevin White says that it has always been his dream to wrestle at the Mid-South Coliseum and now he finally gets that chance, and his dad says he can't wait to help strap Jimmy Hart!
Maclin then shows a video package for Mabel, showing all the matches he has wrestled so far, in which he won all of them fairly easy. We then go back to the weatherroom, where Brian Teigland is interviewing Hart and Mabel. Hart says that he has done it all in Wrestling, except for getting rid of Jerry Lawler, he says now Mabel will be the one to finally get the job done for him. He also mentions that Memphis Wrestling is going to be on a special time this week airing at 10pm CT this Thursday night!
Back on the MW set, Maclin is with Lawler, and he can't understand why Hart hates him so much, since he is the one that got him started in this business. He says he has always brought in guys like Hogan and Mabel to try and get rid of him, but he never can get the job done. Lawler finishes up by stating it takes more than 100mph winds to get rid of him, and that Mabel is in his backyard! Hart then blames Lawler for ruining his music career, and then Mabel says that if Lawler represents Memphis, then he represents nature, and that he will put his lights out!
After break, they showed footage from last week, where Jimmy Valiant introduced Prince Valiant and his match with El Pancho. Prince Valiant won the match is just a few seconds. Prince Valiant then comes out and cuts a funny promo, and he says that he is even looking for Reggie B. Fine.
Maclin then reminds us of the Thursday night special at 10pm CT. Hart then comes back out making fun of Maclin some more, telling him that he doesn't have enough makeup on today, and Shock then pours a bag of flour all over him! They then shown a video package of the Brian Christopher/Doug Gilbert fued.
After break, Christopher is out for an interview, saying that his suspension is finally lifted and that when you can't stand someone, you have a Texas Tornado Death Match with them, and thats exactly the type of match that he is going to have against Gilbert at the Coliseum. He ends the promo by telling Gilbert to bring a bunch of towels, because his blood will be all over the Coliseum before the night is over!!! Very good promo by Christopher.
Brian Teigland is then shown outside the building, where he is standing in front of two brand new Yukon Denalis, and says that the winner of the steel cage battle royal will win both of them!
Back in the studio, a flour covered Maclin is standing with Price Valiant, as Hart, Shock, and the Moondogs attack him from behind, ripping the mask of to reveal that he is Reggie B. Fine. Fine says that he wants Lawler to help him on next weeks show, to get revenge against Hart and his boys. Lawler accepts, but only if Fine starts being serious and quits all the comedy acts.
Maclin then ends the show, by wishing the people in Memphis good luck at getting everything back to normal, reminding us of the Thursday night special, and runs down the confirmed card so far for the Aug 2nd Coliseum show.
