SmackDown! Time Slot Cut Short, Real Sports Talks About Piper's Firing, more

• WWE will run a 90-minute episode of SmackDown! on September 11th. UPN will be airing the first episode of The Mullets, which will air immediately after SmackDown! is finish at 9:30. The show will move to its regular slot the following Tuesday.
  
  
• Jesse Ventura's MSNBA talk show will begin taping on 7/25 in St. Paul, Minnesota at Twin Cities Public Television's studios. The additional taping dates are on 7/28, 7/30, 8/1, 8/4, 8/6, and 8/8. No airdates for the show have been announced by MSNBC.
  
  
• At the end of HBO's "Real Sports" last night, Bryant Gumbel updated the situation on Roddy Piper since his comments aired last month on the show. Gumbel said "Piper has now paid a price for his candor. Just days after our story aired, a deal Piper thought he had worked out with Vince McMahon's entertainment company was canceled. WWE referenced the remarks Piper made on our show as the reason for his cancellation."
