Kurt Angle Injury Update, Billy Gunn, SmackDown Moving To FOX Network? Submitted by Matthew Boone on Sunday, January 19, 2003 at 2:42 PM EST
Kurt Angle will be more than ready for his WWE championship match with Chris Benoit at tonight's Royal Rumble pay-per view. Angle had surgery on his knee following the last pay-per view, which is why he's been kept out of physical action as much as possible on SmackDown! the past few weeks. Angle's leg is pretty much healed up to the point where he can perform at his usual level. In fact, just three days after his surgery, Angle was walking around backstage at WWE events without the support of crutches.
Speculation among wrestlers backstage in WWE is that if UPN stays in the trouble they've been facing recently, and the rumors of them going out of business comes to fruition, SmackDown! would be moved to the FOX network.
Long before suffering what seems to be a career ending injury, Billy Gunn had asked wrestlers not to give him shoulder wrenches during matches because his shoulder was still in bad condition from past injuries.
