HHH Injury Status, Nathan Jones Update, Josh Mathews Reputation

  • Josh Mathews is getting positive reviews for his maturity level backstage in WWE since becoming a regular on the SmackDown! roster. After the first season of Tough Enough, Mathews earned a bad reputation on the independant wrestling scene, and it carried over with him for the early part of his career in WWE.

  • Build-up for Nathan Jones is expected to last a few weeks before debuting him on WWE television on the SmackDown! brand. The character Jones will be portraying is supposed to be somewhat a half-crazy genius who spent a long time in jail. In an interesting fact, Jones actually did spend some time behind bars in Australia. Nathan has already earned a bad reputation in the locker room for being egotistical at times and careless in the ring.

  • Triple H continues to be bothered by a nagging leg injury. "The Game" suffered a partial tear of his right quadriceps muscle (the left being the one he spent 8 months on the shelf for) but it won't require surgery. HHH worked through the injury at Armageddon in his match with Shawn Michaels, which is why he has been taking it easy since then. At house shows his scheduled singles matches were changed to tag, with the other three involved carrying the workload. Obviously WWE has booked around the injury on television, scheduling arm-wrestling matches and muscle pose downs. Triple H plans on working through the injury for the second consecutive pay-per view, working Scott Steiner at Royal Rumble on January 19.
