Early tonight I attended the WWE Smackdown! brand
house show from the Augusta Civic Center in Augusta,
Maine. Just a suggestion to the WWE audio workers.
Stop playing the Anthology CD before the event and
during intermission. Anytime a noticable theme came
on there were lots of people looking towards the entry
way, and even popping for the superstar that wasn't
there or who was even retired. Christian's old theme
came on and a good portion of the crowd went nuts!
Anyways, the arena was about 3/4 full with a couple
empty sections in the higher levels. I was in section
47 on the floor, fifth row. Now to the results.

Tonny Chimmel comes out and gives the usual Spiel
about don't throw crap in the ring and that all
matches are sanctioned to the Maine State Athletic
Commision standards, which I booed. MSAC does not
allow Blood, Dye Packets, Vulgar language, pretty much
anything you would see on a RAW or Smackdown! show.
    MSAC sucks!

Basham Brothers w/ Shaniqua DEF. Chris Benoit & Rhyno
This match was slow to the start, and like most
matches were back and forth. Benoit executed most of
his repotoire including the Crossface & Headbutt from
the top rope. Match ended when Rhyno un-intentionally
Gored Benoit, and one of the Bashman brothers covered
him for the pin. Benoit & Rhyno argued after the
match, and I got some good heat from my section for
yelling out to Benoit to kick Rhyno's ass. Face it,
they have to turn Rhyno heel, he is doing good as a
face, but he's at his best when he's heel. Linda
Miles looks a lot prettier in person and a lot taller.

Ultimo Dragon DEF. Jamie Noble w/Nidia
The match started off with Jamie Noble putting down
the crowd and Nidia offering Dragon a check to get out
of the match. Dragon refused and the match is on.
Basic cruiserweight match but Dragon performed some
great moves and even performed an old school Dragon
Sleeper. Dragon picked up the win after a backflip
    reverse DDT. Very neat move.

    FBI DEF. APA & Spanky
Good to see that Bradshaw & Simmons are back together.
Can't remember much from this match, nothing too
special. FBI picked up the win and after the match
Bradshaw & Simmons cleaned house and celebrated.
Bradshaw did perform the Clothesline from hell, which
was the best part of the match.

    WWE Cruiserweight Championship
    Rey Mysterio DEF. Billy Kidman
The crowd really wasn't that much into the match,
there were a few good spots in this match but not as
many as I expected. Rey picked up the win after the
619 and a springboard Leg Drop. The two showed
respect for each other after the match and left.

Bikini Contest: Torrie Wilson DEF. Dawn Marie &. Nidia

Local DJ "Rushman" Chris Rush from "The Mountain Of
Pure Rock, 105 WTOS" was the special MC filling in for
Sable. This bikini contest was pure eye candy, all of
the Men in the building were just going nuts, but
notably so were a good amount of Women. Nidia looked
pretty good in what she was wearing but Dawn Marie
looked better in her teeny weeny pink bikini(with
thong!). Next was Torrie and she took the victory,
but she could have shown more thong! But it's not like
we haven't seen her in one before, or without one! As
everyone was walking out all of a sudden Sable's music
came on, and out she comes in a robe! Sable was upset
she wasn't part of the Bikini contest and said that
all the men were there to see her. Sable took off her
robe wearing an Incredible black bikini and a very
tiny thong. Sable and Torrie eventually got into an
argument and started a cat fight. Torrie ripped off
Sable's top while she was on the floor and Sable ran
out of the ring with her hands covering her breasts,
but she forgot to cover one of them up for a second or
two! But then again, it's not the first time I or
anyone else has seen it. Not a bad segment, very
entertaining for the Men & Women in the Augusta Civic
    Center.

    15 MINUTE INTERMISSION

"Mr. Ass" Billy Gunn w/Torrie DEF. Matt Hardy V1
Decent match between the two, Billy Gunn pulled off a
Diamond Cutter midway in the match, never seen him do
that before. Hardy pulled off most of his moves
including the "Side-Effect". Match ended when Billy
reversed the Twist Of Fate into the FameAsser. Billy
Gunn after the match mooned the section of the crowd
rooting for the heels. Not a pretty sight!

    Triple Threat Tag Team Championship
    Eddie Guerrero & Tajiri DEF. Sean O'Haire & A-Train &
    Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin
Very entertaining match. Eddie gets on the mic and
asks Tajiri what team Angle still does. Tajiri in his
Japanese accent said "You Still Suck!" crowd went nuts
and then Eddie asked him what he thought of O'Haire &
A-Train. Tajiri then said "You Suck Too". Again the
crowd bursted out laughing. O'Haire & Train were the
first ones eliminated by DQ. The ref got knocked out
and Eddie brought in the belt and tossed it to Haas,
while Eddie layed down on the floor looking knocked
out Haas passed it to A-Train and the belt was then
passed to Benjamin who passed it to O'haire when the
ref woke up he DQ'd them because it looked like he hit
Eddie with the belt. Pretty funny game of Hot Potato.
O'haire and A-Train were pissed and stayed in the ring
and beat up on Eddie and Tajiri. Eddie received the
"Train Wreck", and Tajiri received the "Cruel
Intentions" from O'haire. I know that's what he used
to call his move, can't remember what it's called now.

Tony Chimmel then announces our special guest for the
evening.....BROTHER LOVE! Everyone in the crowd was
like WTF? because we were expecting McMahon. Brother
Love introduces a "Blind" guy into the ring and claims
he can perform a miracle and cure him which he does.
Brother Love then wants to introduce our next guest,
and builds it up pretty good. Mr. Vincent Kennedy
McMahon is then introduced! "No Chance" blares over
the loud speakers and hear he comes strutting out to a
massive pop! Brother Love states that Vince started
taking his risks here in the State of Maine(which is
true!) and he did it right down the road in Bangor.
My brother and I cheered when he said Bangor cos we
live 10 minutes from there, the rest of the crowd
booed. McMahon then got on the mic and started to
make fun of Brother Love but then of course gets in to
his heel character and calls the crowd a bunch of
maniacs who have a screw loose in the head. McMahon
does some more talking and then Brother Love
eventually introduces Zach "Tenacious Z" Gowen.
Pretty much everything that was said on Thursday's
Smackdown! was said tonight. Zach wants a Smackdown!
wrestling contract. Vince makes fun of Zach and rips
off Zach's fake leg and has Brother Love walk "Three
Legged" which was pretty funny. Vince then gets in
Zach's face and strikes him down and says he will give
Zach 10 seconds to get out of the ring. Love & Vince
turn their backs and count to ten. During that time
Zach climbs to the top rope. When they turn around
Zach does a moonsault crossbody on to the two of them
taking them down and then took his fake leg and used
it for a leg drop on McMahon. Vince struts to the
back, and Zach stays in the ring to celebrate. Good
segment. Very nice of Vince to make an appearance in
    Augusta.

Now it's time for our Main Event:
Brock Lesnar & Kurt Angle Def. John Cena & Big Show
Cena comes out first and cuts an OK freestyle. He
says something about Angle being an imitation of Mr.
Clean, and Lesnar's tattoos being smarter than he is.
Decent main event, Angle pulled off an Angle lock and
also Angle Slammed Big Show. Match ended when Angle
held back Big Show while Brock F5'd Cena for the
pinfall. The two celebrated after the match and then
left. Say what you want about John Cena but heel or
face he knows how to entertain.

Excellent event for Augusta, ME. TV Quality I would
say. This is the best card that we have had in years.
Check the records for last year's show and you will
    see.

    BIGGEST POPS:
    1. Vince McMahon
    2. Brock Lesnar
    3. Kurt Angle
    4. Chris Benoit
    5. Rey Mysterio/Zach Gowen

    MOST HEAT:
    1. McMahon(After ripping the crowd)
    2. Basham Brothers(Yes, it's true)
    3. Jamie Noble
    4. Haas & Benjamin
    5. Big Show
