    WWE SMACKDOWN! - 6/19/03

Location: The SBC Center in San Antonio, Texas (taped 6/17)
    Announcing: Michael Cole & Tazz

Cole and Tazz welcomed us to the brand new SBC Center and told us that Big Show and Brock Lesnar would be having a rematch later in the night.

The Undertaker defeated Nunzio (with Chuck Palumbo & Johnny Stamboli). Nunzio danced around the ring but as soon as Taker made a move towards him, he dove out of the ring. Quick match with Taker hitting the Last Ride. After the match, Stamboli and Palumbo jumped in but also got taken out. A lowblow put down the Undertaker but soon after that, Ron Simmons and Bradshaw (sporting a new blonde brush cut and clean shaven) hit the ring and helped Taker clear the ring.

Backstage, Zack Gowen had a quick word with Spanky and Bill DeMott who directed him to Stephanie's office. Gowen knocked on the door which was answered by Sable who invited him to come in.

Chris Benoit defeated Rhyno in a first round United States Championship Tournament Match. Benoit and Rhyno came out for what looked like a tag match but Stephanie McMahon walked out on the stage with a new United States title (which looks really nice) and said that Benoit and Rhyno would square off in a first round match for the US title to be decided at Vengeance. Benoit and Rhyno shook hands before the match which consisted of a lot of holds and reversals, but was overall a pretty decent match. Benoit worked over Rhyno's shoulder while Rhyno worked over Benoit's neck. In the end, Benoit dodged a clothesline and dragged Rhyno to the mat and locked on the Crossface for the win.

Back in Stephanie's office, Sable was coming on to Gowen. She took his hands and placed them on her body as the camera got a shot of Gowen's surprised face.

Rey Mysterio defeated Kanyon. No entrance for Kanyon, who didn't have too much offense in this match, save for a couple innovative moves here and there. After the 619, Mysterio came off the top to hit the West Coast Pop for the win.

Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas came out next, sporting new gear and coming out to some new music. Benjamin said leaving Team Angle was the best thing they could've done and Haas went on to call for a match next week with Kurt Angle. They were then interrupted by Kurt Angle who came out and said next week was for wimps and crybabies. Angle challenged one of them for right now and after some debate, Haas decided to step in the ring with the Olympic champ.

Kurt Angle defeated Charlie Haas (with Shetlon Benjamin). Benjamin got himself involved when Angle went to the outside but the ref caught it and ejected Benjamin from ringside. After some nice back and forth action between Angle and Haas, Kurt hit the Angle Slam for the win. Benjamin ran back in and the two double teamed Angle until Brock Lesnar came out and helped Angle clear the ring.

Backstage, Sable pushed Gowen down on the desk and told him to beg for her. Finally, she said he never had a chance with her and further made fun of him only having one leg, poor guy. Vince McMahon barged in and Gowen took off. After a moment, McMahon and Sable cracked up and it was revealed that it was all just a setup to furthermore embarrass Zack Gowen.

Billy Gunn (with Torrie Wilson) defeated Jamie Noble (with Nidia). Nidia and Wilson tangled on the outside while Gunn hit the Fameasser on Noble in this quick match.

Sean O'Haire (with Roddy Piper) defeated Eddie Guerrero (with Tajiri). Tajiri and Guerrero rolled out in a Cadillac Escalde lowrider. Meanwhile, O'Haire walked out with a tequila toting Piper. O'Haire more or less dominated this match as Tajiri got a face-full of tequila from Piper. O'Haire hit his finisher, called the Prophecy, for the win. Afterwards, Piper dumped the rest of the tequila on Eddie.

Back in the GM office, Sable and Vince were bragging about what they just did to Gowen as Vince laid down on the desk and made fun of him. Stephanie walked in and told Sable to get out. Steph then flipped out on her old man and said she was ashamed that she was turning out just like him. She said she was giving a contract to Gowen, whether Vince wanted to fire her or not. Stephanie walked out and Vince was left speechless.

Brock Lesnar defeated Big Show by DQ to retain the WWE Championship. To begin the match, Lesnar went up to the top and taunted Show from there but jumped down as soon as Show went after him. A big brawl of a match then ensued. Towards the end, Brock went for the F5 but Benjamin and Haas ran in and caused the DQ. The three beat down Lesnar until Kurt Angle ran in and hit the Angle Slam on Show. Kurt went to work on Haas and Benjamin and then turned around into a chokeslam from Big Show. Finally, Mr. America hit the ring, with everyone down except Show. Hogan decked Show and tried to slam him but Haas and Benjamin recovered in time to put a stop to that. Chokeslam on Hogan and Big Show is the only one left standing to end the show.
