I Know What You Did Last Monday- Bret Hart Song "SS '97"

Hello, and welcome to a rather quick edition of I Know What You Did Last Monday. This is something to get something up and sort of give a preview to something I’ll be aiming to do starting this Wednesday. I’ll explain more later!
I’ve started a new job, so I’ve been busy as of late, but this is good! I’ll actually have money now, which is always a plus, and hopefully I’ll get to do a follow up of my wrestling video give away that I did a couple of years ago later this summer!
In the meantime, this is more of a preview column to just show everyone that I’m still alive, I’ve received your e-mails and I do have things in the works. Lately, I’ve noticed not only has wrestling news slowed, but also has column productions unless there’s something BIG to talk about! Well there have been a few things I’ve wanted to talk about, something I really wanted to do is what I’ll be doing this week.
What I’ll be doing is analyzing the RAW and Smackdown rosters in separate columns. I’ll be doing this in the form of classes, and how they’ve done this year, and where I see them heading into what LOOKS like it will be the worst summer in wrestling history (at least of the last 5-10 years or so.)
I’ll go through the rosters, and talk about where I place each wrestler in the graduating classes…it’s rather hard to explain without spoiling things, or getting into greater details that will be shown in the columns later, but I believe it’ll be fun.
Readers rants will also continue during those columns, or right there after. Depending on time. Speaking of, with me aiming to get into screen writing I’ve been hitting up the theatres to catch the summer blockbusters (which is part of the studying to become a screenwriter if you believe it…though just like school, I have to pay for it)…but let’s do a quick run through of some movies that I’d highly recommend if you’re a movie fan.
Matrix Reloaded- Obviously! If you’re a FAN of the first, you’ll love this one! The scenes are amazing, the fights are once again revolutionary and it’ll just blow you away! Neo is the man.
Identity- Great! Top notch thriller! I won’t say anymore, but see this movie!
Bruce Almighty- Hilarious! Jim Carrey is back in TOP form! Back to you fuckers!
Anyway! I’m getting off track…so today I actually just wrote a song while I was at work so I thought I’d post it and give the ‘preview’ to this week’s double feature column! They’ll be up Wednesday night, and Friday night, hopefully they’ll go over well!
Now, onto the song! It is to the beat of “Summer of ‘69’” by Brian Adams…while I don’t always choose songs that are in the now, I choose ones that most people will know the beat too. Hey, if you want to get really into it, download the song and sing to the beat, it should match up well! This is about Bret Hart, and the Survivor Series screw job…something us damn Canadians just can’t let go…beat the hell outta Shawn, Orton, beat the hell outta Shawn…sorry! Off track again, anyway, on with the song!
“Survivor Series ‘97”
I had debated taking a break Had already won the title five times. Fought until I bladed and bled It was the fall of 97.
My wrestling style was old school Had my morals and I tried real hard. Almost quit, before I was buried I shoulda known that I wasn’t their star.
Oh then they asked me to stay Offered a contract that would last forever And since I had the choice Ya - I chose to stay there Those were the days wrestling was my life.
Never did I do any complainin, When I had a JOB to do, Until I was told to drop the belt to a pretty boy, Something I just couldn’t do!
Standin' in Vince’s office He told me that we’d have a run-in Oh and when he gave his word I thought I knew that I could trust him That was one of the first mistakes of the night.
Oh yeah, Back at Survivor Series 97.
Man we were fighting hard We kept the young crowd restless Then it began to unwind Soon nothing would be the same ever - no never, no!
The pace of the match started changin The halfway mark had come and gone Sometimes when I watch wrestling with shadows I think about why it had all gone wrong
The Sharpshooter was applied as I laid there on the canvas, Oh when I heard the bell ring I knew my life would change forever That was one of the worst days of my life
Oh yeah, Back at Survivor Series ‘97. It was Survivor Series ‘97. Me and the screw job in ‘97 It was Survivor, Survivor, Survivor Series ‘97.
Well that does it for this quick preview/returning column! Hope you enjoyed the song and I’ll be back with the “Classes of 2003” later this week! Until then, feel free to write me back Clicking Here!
Until next time…
