WWA 'Expect The Unexpected' Melbourne 23/05/03
    Vodafone Arena

Firstly David Penser came out and hyped the crowd up and gave a run down of
the card. Andrew McManus then came out and talked about what a great show it
was going to be and announced a four way match for the WWA cruiserweight
    title.

McManus was interupted by Disco Inferno who came out to huge heat. he said
he is number one contender for the NWA title and the WWA title and that he
is going to face Sting tonight.

Commentators: David Penser and Andrew McManus

First Match: Mark Mercedes vs. Crowbar (Hardcore rules)
Mercedes came out and told everyone melbourne sucks. Crowbar came out to a
huge pop. Good hardcore match with the use of kendo sticks, chairs, ring steps and
barricades. In the end Mercedes hit Crowbar with a low blow, went for a
chair shot but Crowbar countered and hit a northern lights suplex with a
    chair for the win.

Bret Hart came out to a HUGE pop and siat in the middle of the ring and
talks about his career, his stroke and how he thought he never would return
to the wrestling business. boring with lots of pauses, but left to a
    standing ovation.

Konnan come out and replaces McManus as commentator and makes fun of Penser
saying 'he hasn't had pussy since pussy had him'. Good pop by the crowd

Second Match: TEO w/ Queen Bee vs. Puppet vs. Meatball
Funny match with lots of crowd reaction. TEO won with a botched swanton
bomb, and was attacked by Puppet and Meatball after the match. Puppet and
Meatball then attacked Queen Bee and stripped her down to her bra and
    panties to a huge pop.
    *1/2

Third Match: Rick Steiner vs. Joe E Legend
Legend came out first made fun of melbourne and issued a challenge to any
Australian. Steiner then came out accepted Joe E Legend's challenge.Steiner
beat up Legend.Mediocre match with the Dog Faced Gremlin dominating. Steiner
won with the top rope Bulldog.
    **1/2

Intermission - A Bret Hart Autograph session was advertised, but only the
midgets, queen bee and mark mercedes signed autographs. fans were very
    disapointed and angry.

Fourth Match: WWA Cruiserweight Title Jerry Lynn(Champion) vs. Johnny
Swinger vs. Chris Sabin vs. Frankie Kazarian
before the match Sabin came out and tripped while climbing the ropes, funny
stuff. Great match by all four competitors with alot of near falls. All four
men countered each other and did alot of high risk moves. Lynn won with the
cradle piledriver on Kazarian to retain the cruiserweight title.
Konnan helped Kazarian up and hyped the crowd up saying he deserves a
    standing ovation.
    Match of the night
    ****1/2

Fifth Match: Shane Douglas vs. Sabu
Douglas came and bagged melbourne and said he revolutionised ECW. Sabu came
out to a great pop. The match was for 'who franchised ECW'. Good match with
Sabu hitting all his usual highspots. Sabu hit the triple jump moonsault and
went for a cross body for the win but Douglas caught him and reversed it
into a roll up for the pin.
    ***1/2

Main Event: WWA World Championship Sting (champion) vs. Disco Inferno
Sting came out to the biggest pop of the night. Disco came out to heat.
Slow match with Disco working on the leg of sting. Throughout the match
Konnan kept saying him and Sting were in the Wolfpac, so Konnan has Sting's
back. Sting fought back and got the upperhand. He hit the Stinger Splash and
then went for the scorpion death drop. Konnan then ran in and nailed sting
with a chair. Sting recovered and hit konnan out of the ring then locked in
the scorpion death lock making Disco Inferno tap for the win.
    ***1/2

Well worth the $27 i paid for a ticket and in my opinion it was better than
global warning due to the closeness to the crowd and how cheap tickets were.
The crowd was very small with many spare seats. before the show McManus even
told people they can move around so the audience looks bigger on screen.

    Biggest Pops
    1) Sting
    2) Bret Hart
    3) Jerry Lynn

    Biggest Heat
    1) Disco Inferno
    2) Shane Douglas
    3) Konnan
