WWE RAW - 5/19/03
Live from Greenville, SC Announcing: Jim Ross & Jerry Lawler
Much like last night's show, Stone Cold Steve Austin came out to kick off Raw. Austin commented on last night's event and said he ate a lot of food, drank a lot of beer and had a hell of a time. Austin said Eric Bischoff also ate a lot of food and drank a lot of beer but made a complete jackass out of himself. Austin has the TitanTron show the clip of Bischoff barfing out the window of the skybox last night. Just in case we didn't see it, we see it at a few different angles and in slow motion. Austin then mentioned the June 10th Bad Blood pay per view which is the first Raw-only event. Austin said he would be presenting that show and added "satisfaction guaranteed."
Austin then said he would get to the bottom of the situation concerning Goldberg nearly getting rundown by a car last week. Austin said when he finds out who did it, they'll be taking on Goldberg in the ring. Austin then called out the current World Heavyweight Champion and out came Triple H alongside Ric Flair. Austin cut off Triple H's music just before the Game could do the great water spit and said he didn't have time and told him to bring his ass in the ring. Austin said H didn't deserve to have the title over his shoulder because Kevin Nash kicked his ass last night. Austin said H would be wrestling tonight. Triple H agreed in saying he had his ass whooped by Nash but said he was still the World Champion which meant he too had a little stroke around here. Triple H said he was beat up and tired and said he wasn't wrestling tonight. Austin put it to him another way, he said Triple H could pick his opponent, just as long as it was a former World Heavyweight Champion. Austin ran down the list, Kane, Shawn Michaels, Chris Jericho or Kevin Nash. Triple H thought about it a second and then said he'd take on the greatest World Champion of them all and chose Ric Flair as his opponent. Flair looked surprised as H's music fired back up and Ross proclaimed that the Game thought he may have outsmarted Austin.

The Dudley Boyz defeated 3 Minute Warning (with Rico) at 6:08. A little back and forth action early on until the Dudleyz took control with the "Whassup" headbutt and Bubba Ray called for the tables. While bringing in the table, Bubba Ray was taken out and Jamal did a baseball slide into the table, knocking it into D-Von. Rosey and Jamal then brought in the table and set D-Von on it but as Jamal came down for the splash, D-Von rolled off and Jamal crashed through the table. The Dudleyz then hit the 3D on Rosey and that was it. Afterwards, Rico jumped in the ring with a mic and said he was fed up and that he was leaving them.

Backstage, Bischoff was in his office trying to recover from his hangover when Austin walked in and said they had a show to do. Austin tried to get Bischoff fired up but Bischoff said he just needed some time. Austin took a beer and wiffed it under Bischoff's nose which caused him to puke all over his own picture hanging on the wall.
Austin left the office and was approached by Kevin Nash. Austin said Nash had no reason to seem unhappy, he kicked Triple H's ass last night and he'll get the winner of Flair-Triple H.
[Break]
Chris Jericho came out next for the Highlight Reel. Jericho's set was improved upon again, this time it had a pretty cool rug and a plasma screen TV hanging up which Jericho referred to as the JeriTron 5000. Jericho got in the ring and said he was betrayed last night by Christian. Jericho rolled the footage of Christian shoving him over the top last night during the battle royal. Jericho then introduced Christian who came out sporting a new short haircut and some new clothes. Christian stepped in the ring and Jericho acted upset but then said he would've done the same thing. Christian said he was a new man. Jericho then said that people were saying that Christian won the title under some dubious circumstances and we saw what went down with Christian actually getting eliminated first while the ref was out but then coming back in, clocking Booker T with the belt and dumping him over the top as the ref came to. Christian said the referee's decision was final and said he did it right under the noses of the co-general managers.
Christian then tried a new catchphrase which brought out Rob Van Dam. RVD said Christian's catchphrase was terrible and told him to try one which led the crowd into a "Christian sucks" chant. Van Dam said the fans appreciate a fighting champion and challenged Christian for his Intercontinental title. Christian declined and then decked RVD as he and Jericho began a beat down. Kane ran in for the save and helped RVD clear the ring but as Christian and Jericho were backing up the ramp, Austin appeared on the TitanTron and said they needed to clear the ring because there was a tag team title match coming up next.
[Break]
Rob Van Dam & Kane defeated Chris Jericho & Christian at 11:13 to retain the World Tag Team Titles. Christian wrestled the match in his street clothes in what was a pretty good match. Kane chokeslammed Christian near the end and RVD went up for the Fivestar as usual but Jericho shoved him off the top and to the floor. Christian then hit Kane with a lowblow as Jericho brought two chairs into the ring to set up a conchairto which led to the DQ. Booker T then ran in and helped RVD and Kane clear the ring.
Backstage, Shawn Michaels approached Ric Flair and reminded him of what Flair said 15 years ago. Michaels said that Flair set himself as the standard in the business and told him he shouldn't lay down for anybody, let alone Triple H. Flair asked Michaels if he really thought he could go with a guy like Triple H. Michaels said he believed he could but said Flair needed to believe he could as well.
[Break]
Theodore Long and Rodney Mack made their way out and Long made a white boy challenge to any established WWE superstar. After a bit, Spike Dudley answered the call.
Rodney Mack defeated Spike Dudley at 4:59. Spike was pretty much dominated for most of the match but got a few shots in as Ross and Lawler watched the five minutes tick away and speculated that Spike just might last the whole time. With about 30 seconds left, Mack locked in a Cobra Clutch which Long said was called the Blackout and with only a second left, Spike tapped.
Back in the co-GM's office, Austin walked in yelling through a megaphone and banging on a trashcan lid. Austin then said he had the cure for Bischoff's hangover and said he needed some women. In came Mae Young and Moolah which Bischoff quickly ushered back out.
[Break]
After the break, Flair had his robe on and looked himself over in a mirror and gave us a "Woo!" before exiting the locker room.
La Résistance defeated Scott Steiner & Test (with Stacy Keibler) at 2:07. Test did most of the work in the ring while Steiner was beatdown on the outside and tossed into the steps which prompted Stacy to go check on him. In the ring, Grenier rolled up Test for the win. Afterwards, Steiner and Test shoved each other a couple times and Test grabbed Stacy and tried to leave. Steiner then grabbed Stacy's hand and tried to get her to come with him. Finally, Stacy had had enough and left without either of them.
Backstage, Steve Austin headed into a room which was marked (with a cardboard and magic marker made sign) the Interrogation Room.
Meanwhile, Ross and Lawler showed the results of a WWE.com poll that they had announced earlier in the night. The poll was to see who the fans thought tried to run down Goldberg. The Rock led the pack of suspects which was followed up by Christian, Triple H, Austin and then Jericho.
[Break]
In the Interrogation Room, Lance Storm was being questioned by Austin. When Storm didn't answer, Austin said he had ways of making him talk. Finally, Storm cracked and said he did it but lost control of his car. Austin pressed on and Storm slipped and said it wasn't his idea. Austin then booted Storm out and told him to get in the ring to face Goldberg.
Meanwhile, Triple H was having his ribs taped up when the Nature Boy walked in and said that in all his years as a champion, he never asked anyone to lay down for him and said he wasn't laying down for Triple H tonight. Flair said he was coming with everything he had.
[Break]
Goldberg defeated Lance Storm at 1:11. Pretty much a squash, poor Storm. Goldberg attacked Storm as he got into the ring and quickly hit him with a spear and then the Jackhammer. After the match, Goldberg grabbed a mic and grabbed Storm around the throat and demanded to know who put him up to it. Storm confessed and said it was Jericho.
[Break]
In the parking lot, Jonathan Coachman caught up to Chris Jericho who was trying to leave. Coach asked Jericho if what Storm said was true. Jericho fessed up to it and said he would rundown Bill Goldberg face to face next week because he said Goldberg would be the guest on the Highlight Reel.
Triple H defeated Ric Flair to retain the World Heavyweight Title at 7:26. Triple H tried to tell Flair that the plan was for him to lay down but Flair offered his hand and then pulled it away as H went to shake it. Flair dominated the early going, hitting a bunch of chops, a vertical suplex on the outside as well as in the ring. H took control for a moment when he hit a spinebuster but Flair came off the top rope and hit a double ax-handle. Flair then slapped on the Figure Four but H made it to the ropes. Triple H was on the comeback when he had Flair in a sleeperhold but the two squashed the ref in the corner which prompted H to head out and grab the title belt. However, Flair countered and hit H with a lowblow and then clocked him with the belt while the ref was still down. The ref came around just in time to count a near fall for Flair. After trading backdrops, Triple H hit the Pedigree to retain the title. After the match, Kevin Nash ran out and chased Triple H out of the ring. H collapsed on the stage when Austin came out and said that Triple H had to face Kevin Nash at the PPV in a Hell in a Cell match.
