- The PPV woes for the WWE continue as the original surveys of cable operators placed the buyrate of last month's WWE Backlash PPV between 425,000 and 500,000 buys. While this is above the buyrate for the No Way Out PPV, it is definatly lower than expected, especially considering that the WWE was counting on Goldberg's in-ring debut to help boost sales. However, it now looks like the buyrate is even lower than that, coming in at around 250,000 buys.
There are many backstage in the WWE who feel that Judgment Day will get even lower buyrates than Backlash. Maybe with the decreasing buyrates, Vince McMahon and his writers will finally try to regroup and work out new storylines and new angles for both brands, while trying to push new superstars instead of sticking with the same old ones like HHH, Big Show, etc. One has to wonder if the decline in the buyrates might affect the choice of having specific brand-only PPV's starting next month.
- The original plans for Hulk Hogan after Wrestlemania 19 was for Hogan to fued with Shane McMahon. However, those plans were put on hold when Vince & Hogan came up with the Mr. America gimmick.
- Bruce Pritchard was behind the idea of having Rowdy Roddy Piper be the mentor/manager of Sean O'Haire. Pritchard made the choice after hearing comments that some of the big name stars weren't doing nearly enough to give rubs to new talent or trying to get them over with the fans.
