This week, on The No Holds Barred radio show the voice of MLW Joey Styles joined us and here are the highlights.

Joey put over the MLW show Friday, May 9th in Orlando, FL.He said his start with MLW began with a meeting with Court Bauer. Joey felt he is a bright, straight forward guy and he has a great vision of the wrestling business. He also liked the fact he could head back to his old ECW stomping grounds to do voice overs for MLW.

Joey said it is unfair to compare any Indy company to ECW, However, he feels the start of MLW is better funded, better organized and more professional then the start of ECW.

With the exception of a few rough spots he feels the feedback so far of the MLW product has been positive. He feels the production will only get better as they go along.

Joey said he is very impressed with Court Bauer's ability to book and he was never worried about the talent level MLW had to offer.

Joey said his departure with XPW is a private matter and he would not go into details. He said he remains very good friends with Shane Douglas and mentioned company image as a possible setback. He said he took no money from XPW or deposited any checks.

When asked if his brief stint with XPW hurt his image.Joey said no because nobody ever really saw the product.

On the topic of the WWE, Joey said that If the WWE purchased the ECW video library he would not work for them. He also added that the WWE could use their money the way they want and if they bought ECW it would be good for them but if they decided to use his voice or his face, it would be in their best interest to get in touch with him before doing so.

Joey said the WWE product is not as bad as some people may say right now. He feels the writing has become stale but the talent have been fine. He thinks that if the writing is against the company grain, even if it is good, it is not rewarded but instead flushed down the toilet.

Joey talked of how difficult it is to score a television deal, espicially now with WWE's ratings being down. He feels good with MLW being on the Sunshine network in Florida and feels that is a great place to build a company.

Joey said MLW is open to expanding on to additional stations provided they are willing to work on a barter agreement. He noted that if MLW was able to do so he'd love to see the company run a show again in the New York area.

Joey joked with us talking about Hulk Hogan's movie career and why we would name our radio show after a horrible Hogan flick (definetly not the reason for naming the show "No Holds Barred"). He named almost all of them and then went on to talk about Hogan's television series and then talked about the horrible reality TV craze.
