In a further update on Spike TV... TNN hopes that by specifically saying they are a channel aimed towards men, that they can get a "leg up" on the upcoming Maxim Entertainment Network (MEN) coming sometime soon.

TNN currently has 2/3 of their audience as males, but its prime time shows go on average of a little more than 1 million viewers per night, and that's with the WWE "spiking" the average for 2 hours on Monday nights for RAW.

According to the Nielson media research, WWE RAW on TNN is down 22% in their ratings, with its lead in show, Star Trek: The Next Generation being down 32%, probably from a previous quarter or year's numbers.

The name change comes about after Viacom didn't change it before, making viewers to believe that TNN remains a country music television channel.

WWE Smackdown was UPN's top rated show, once again. It came in 81st among the prime time shows, and it had approximately 5.4 million viewers.

UPN actually beat its rival, WB, in viewership with an average of 3.2 million per prime time show against WB's average of 3 million. WB has dominated the UPN network for most of the television season.

On another example of UPN has continued to lose money, they have reportedly lost $50 million from bringing over "Buffy: The Vampire Slayer", which has been a bust in the ratings and will be ending soon.

UPN actually finished 3rd on Thursday night, fueled by Smackdown, beating out several networks holding repeats this week. UPN finished behind CBS and NBC, while defeating ABC, FOX, WB, and PAX.
