None other than Vince McMahon was on The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn tonight. Before McMahon came out as a guest, Kilborn mentioned McMahon's failed XFL project and then showed a skit with McMahon on a home shopping channel. Vince was trying to sell an XFL helmet and said the entire XFL league would come with it for only $29.95. Vince said the phone lines were open and they showed a guy waiting for a phone to ring but no one was calling. Vince then said he'd toss in former XFL announcer and Minnesota governor Jesse Ventura. Still no calls. Vince said the XFL would be a great buy for someone in the Los Angeles area where there are no football teams, and now with this great offer they could have eight. Still no calls. Finally, Vince said he'd throw in the running back "He Hate Me" and a WrestleMania t-shirt and finally the phone rang. It was a pretty funny skit and it's cool to see that Vince can joke about what happened with the XFL. Report by Bryan Newell This is a basic summary from my memory of watching the show.....not word for word. Before Vince even comes out as a guest, Kilborn shows a skit of Vince on the home shopping network selling an authentic XFL football helmet for $29.95. Vince says he'll throw in the whole league for the same price, that's a 35 million dollar deal for $29.95. He says if you call now he'll include former announcer Jesse "The Body" Ventura (he's not doing much nowadays anyway, he says) and the former running back "He Hate Me." They show the operator and no one is calling. Vince says, come on, the helmet, the entire league, cheerleaders and all, Jesse Ventura and He Hate Me. He finally throws in a Wrestlemania T-shirt and someone calls. Good Stuff. They show some footage of Vince's recent confrontations with Hogan and then he comes out. Kilborn mentions some older names in the business such as Bobby Heenan, who Vince says is still around. Kilborn asks if Vince walks around like he was in the footage all the time. Vince jokes and says it's fun to be an arrogant BLEEP, but he says no. Kilborn asks if he walks into church like that, Vince says he doesn't go to church. Kilborn asks if people try to pick fights with him and he says not often, but he's always been a troublemaker. Says he enjoyed fighting as a kid. Kilborn asks if he ever got beat up, Vince says sure, it's good for the soul. Kilborn comments on Vince's age and Vince says he's 57. Kilborn is shocked that he's still wrestling and Vince comments that Hogan is 50, so it's not that big of a difference. Kilborn asks if he was an athlete in college or high school, did he wrestle, play football, etc. Vince says all of the above. Kilborn says that Hogan should kick his butt then since he's not really a wrestler and Vince says you would think. Kilborn asks about when Hogan left in the early 90's. Vince talks about how Hogan didn't want to wrestle him and they had their differences so he went to work for Ted Turner, but says they had an off and on relationship the whole time. Says Hogan has always been talented and charasmatic and that he only helped make him what he is. Kilborn asks about Wrestlemania, Vince says it's our Super Bowl and hypes the Lesnar/Angle, Rock/Stone Cold, and HHH/Booker T matches. Kilborn asks about the name change from the WWF to the WWE. Vince says they had some problems with the World Wildlife Fund out of Switzerland. Kilborn laughs and then asks if Vince actually owns the WWE or is he just a promoter. Vince says he owns the company but is also a promoter. Kilborn comments that he must be well off finanicially and Vince says I'm doing OK. Kilborn asks about competing promotions and Vince says he put them all out of business. Kilborn changes topic to the XFL and comments that Vince can laugh about it now. Vince agrees and Kilborn asks why it didn't work. Vince says he could make up an excuse and not blame himself jokingly, but he says he doesn't know. He talks about how he had hoped to make an alternate league for the NFL players because he didn't like how some were being treated. He said it just wasn't accepted, but it was fun competing against the NFL. He says he wouldn't try a football league again. Commerical. After the break, Kilborn plays his 5 questions with Vince. First Question: What's your favorite Celine Dion Song aside for the one from Titanic? Vince says he doesn't have one and Kilborn says it's the right answer. Second Question is What Film did Morissa Tomei win an Oscar for, and Vince says Titanic....I have no idea. My Cousin Vinny was the answer. Third Question: Name five things you can do in a match while the ref isn't looking. Vince says pull hair, kick in the groin, rake eyes, choke, and throw them down. Kilborn gives him credit (though you can do some of those while the ref is looking). Fourth Question is name a breakfast cereal that doesn't end in S. Vince thinks and then says who eats that crap and that he can't think of one. Raisin Bran or Life are possible answers. Final question is will Vince let Craig put him in a headlock and get a picture taken to which Vince agrees. Vince leaves for the next guess, Actress Roselyn Sanchez. He comes back at the end to play a game called Yambo against Sanchez. Kilborn walks around and quickly asks questions. The first to get three right or not get three wrong wins. First question for Vince is who won the world series last year and Vince has no idea, doesn't follow baseball. Second was who was his 3rd grade teacher and Vince says he failed the 3rd grade and it's supposedly true, so he gets one right. Final question is to come up with a wrestling name for Kilborn and Vince says The Stick and gets that right, but Sanchez gets her third question right and beats Vince. That's it for Vince. Pretty good appearance. Not as entertaining as Stone Cold on Kimmel last night in my opinion, but definitely watchable and some interesting topics were discussed. *NEW GALLERY* Amazing!
