WrestleZone Radio 3/25: Special Guest - Randy Savage!
Submitted by Matt Boone on Tuesday, March 25, 2003 at 2:23 PM EST
The March 25, 2003 edition of WrestleZone Radio with Matt Boone and John Hartnett is now online.
Matt and John start things off with some quick show notes. "Macho Man" Randy Savage is on today's show, #1 Middleweight contender in PRIDE Quinton "Rampage" Jackson will be on Wednesday, and PRIDE announcer as well as Fight Sport and Black Belt Magazine editor "The Fight Professor" Stephen Quandros will be on the show this Friday.
From there, the two jumped right into it with the one and only "Macho Man" Randy Savage. Macho talked about his newly opened website that will feature an online wrestling promotion. Basically, he's got a group of wrestlers and a ring, his TV outlet will be the internet. Much more on that over at MachoMan.com. He also talked in-depth about his hatred and why he dislikes Hulk Hogan including a few challenges to the Hulkster. Savage talked about coming out with a rap music CD in the near future to the hosts surprise. Since everyone has WrestleMania fever, Macho Man ran down some of his more memorable WrestleMania moments including the match against Hogan, winning the title in a tournament at WrestleMania, and of course the classic match with Ricky Steamboat. Macho talked about his movie roles lately including Spiderman which we all saw, and a scoop on him completing his work in the Tarzan II movie. Randy talked about where he came up with his "Woo Yeah" catch phrase, managing Brian Adams in boxing, his charity match challenge to Hulk Hogan a year ago and why it never came off, his workout and diet regimine, possibility of working for NWA-TNA soon which he says is good, his thoughts on being portrayed as "Nacho Man" when he originally left WWF, what's going on with Gorgeous George and Miss Elizabeth, his thoughts on WWE buying out WCW, politics and disaster in WCW, who came up with his crazy ring attire, and the angle where he was literally bit by a snake in the Jake Roberts storyline. Macho also discussed advice for up-and-comers in wrestling, his heat and three legit street fights with Road Warrior Hawk, his baseball career, why he never worked the WWA PPV as advertised last year, if he plans on writing his own book, world records his father is doing, what his brother Leaping Lanny Poffo aka The Genius is doing, and a lot more information on his website (MachoMan.com). Instant classic interview on WrestleZone Radio, easily one of our best ever.
WrestleZone Radio for March 25th also had the usual RAW Rundown and Mailbag segments, in addition to the news segments where more information on Goldberg signing with WWE was talked about, among a host of others topics.
