  • As reported last night, news broke out backstage yesterday at No Way Out, that Paul Heyman has been removed from his spot as the lead writer for SmackDown!, and will now be a talent on SmackDown!, and what is being termed as "consultant" for RAW and SmackDown!. Bruce Prichard and Dave Lagana will take his place as writers for the show. These changes take effect immediately. Dave Lagana is a former fan who used to go the the ECW Arena shows. Then, he went on to college, and then Hollywood, as a writer for a few TV series, including "Friends." He joined WWE as a writer last year, and has been on the rise since then. He was Heyman's right hand man.

As of now, no official reason has been given for Heyman's removal. But according to sources, Heyman's so called "demotion" could be a result of his personal relationship with Executive Producer Kevin Dunn. Dunn, one of Vince McMahon's favorites, has more power than almost anyone in WWE and has been at odds with Heyman for months now. Last week there was an altercation between the two men, which is believed to have led to this decision of Heyman's removal.

Heyman also has been vocal about the company's disappointing performance on several occasions. He has got in troubles with RAW lead writer Brian Gerwitz, and many other officials, which could have added fuel to the fire.
