Out of the Ashes - Anything Can Happen

    Out of the Ashes

Howdy, all, and welcome to an extremely short version of Out of the Ashes. I am Blazing Phoenix, and there’s really not much that I can talk about today.

See, a lot of people are doing Year-End Awards, and I just can’t bring myself to do that. There are two reasons.

The first is that, obviously, everyone else is doing it. I’ve always prided myself on not giving into “the cool thing” of the moment, and I don’t intend to start now.

The other is that since I’ve spent the majority of the year away at college, I haven’t gotten to watch as much wrestling as I would have liked. So I can’t judge as well as I’d like to.

So I’m put into an interesting quandary. So let’s thank the NFL.

Fanning the Flames – Anything Can Happen

I was watching my beloved Patriots today. Their playoff hopes were on the line. Since they lost last week to the Jets (at a game I was at, no less), they were put into a must win situation against the Dolphins.

And win they did. In a stunning 4th Quarter comeback, the Patriots tied up the game to bring it into overtime, where they won the coin toss and marched down the field to kick a field goal and win the game. But they still needed the Jets to lose to Green Bay.

It didn’t happen. The Jets won, and that put them in first place in the AFC East, and gave Cleveland the Wild Card spot.

Cleveland? CLEVELAND?!?! Where the FUCK did they come from? In the AFC East, you have 3 teams that are 9-7, and then Cleveland comes out of left field and claims the Wild Card? Where’s the sense in that?

It just goes to show that anything can happen. Just like in wrestling.

This year, we saw Brock Lesnar come pretty much out of nowhere and jump to the top. Shawn Michaels made a triumphant return to the ring. Eric Bischoff surfaced in the WWE, along with Hall, Nash, Hogan, and Steiner. Steve Austin walked out.

    The list goes on.

And what’s going to happen in 2003? Who knows.

Oh sure, everybody has their wishes. Lord knows I do. But I’m not going to bore you with the details. If you’ve been reading long enough, you know what I want from the WWE.

Now we all just have to sit tight with bated breath, and hope that they deliver.

    Dousing the Blaze

Told you it was short. I bet you’re thankful. Consider it a belated Christmas gift, if you’d like.

Love it? Hate it? Send me your feedback.

Hope everyone had a nice holiday season. Have a happy, healthy, and safe New Year’s. Even if it is one of the most overrated celebrations of the year.

Don’t mind me, I’m just bitter because I have noone to spend it with.

    Til next time…
