Recap of Hulk Hogan on MuchMusic
Submitted by William Martinez on Friday, December 20, 2002 at 5:04 PM EST

Hulk Hogan appeared on MuchMusic earlier today. The hosts introduced Hogan to an in-studio crowd chanting Hogan's name. Hogan came out dressed all in black to his theme music and more Hogan chants.

Hogan said the crowd was awesome and the hosts (Rick and Nam) commented on his size. Rick pointed out how a lot of the crowd spent the night outside just to get in and again, Hogan complemented the fan's loyalty. Hogan said everytime he comes to Canada, the fans raise the level of intensity. Mentions of Hogan's match with The Rock at Wrestlemania got huge boos for The Rock and heavy "Rocky Sucks" chants.

Hogan plugged his new book saying it was the best Christmas gift this year. He spoke about what the book is about. Hogan spoke about what was left out of the book due to censorship reasons such as a chapter on Jesse Ventura. Hogan spoke about how he got started in the business thanks to the Briscoe Brothers who saw Hogan while he was still in a band.

After the commercial break, they showed Jimmy Hart in studio with Hogan. Hart brought back memories of the wrestler ice cream sandwiches.

They showed a clip of the incredible ovation Hogan got in Montreal at a Smackdown in May (which I attended). They asked Hogan how he feels about the fans and Hogan said he couldn't believe the ovation he got from the fans in Montreal. He said nobody from Vince McMahon to the wrestlers couldn't believe it.

They asked Hogan about who he idolized growing up, Hogan responded by saying Andre the Giant, Superstar Billy Graham and Rocky Johnson. He said a story of how The Rock caught Hogan's headband in the crowd when he was 13 years old.

They then took a call from a fan. Hogan was asked what his personal favorite Hulk Hogan moment is and he said his Wrestlemania 3 match with Andre the Giant. He also pointed out his match with The Rock at Wrestlemania X-8.

They asked what the future holds for Hogan's future. He said he has a couple more weeks left on his WWE contract and he hopes he can return but he honestly doesn't know.

Rick then wanted Nam, the other host, to give him the legdrop so they laid some mats down on the floor and Hogan instructed Nam how to do the legdrop. Nam gave Rick a very weak looking legdrop. They then went to commercial as Hogan went outside to meet with the hoards of fans waiting there.

They showed a clip of a previous MuchMusic segment where an indy wrestler showed up and Rick did some moves on him. A clip was shown of Hogan's "Real American" music video which got some laughs.

Rick then announced that they had a guitar in studio so they asked Hogan to play a bit which he did. Hogan complained about how badly the guitar was tuned. Hogan said he would have played much better if it had been a base guitar.

They took a question from a fan in the crowd. The question was who is Hogan's best friend in the business. Hogan responded by saying Ed Leslie (Brutus Beefcake) but as far as who Hogan looked up to, Hogan said Andre the Giant and Vince McMahon (which got "He Screwed Bret" chants).

Hogan's toughest opponent to deal with was Paul Orndorff cause he was so stiff to work with. Rick plugged Raw's 10th Anniversary Show but Hogan hasn't heard anything about it. Rick and Hogan then plugged the book one more time.

They went to say goodbye to the fans outside and finished the show with the "We're Not Gonna Take It" video by Bif Naked featuring a bunch of WCW wrestlers.
