Shot in the eye slows Mattitude FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. –Dec. 15, 2002 – Ironically, a small twist of fate left Matt Hardy nursing a badly swollen left eye at Armageddon. It seems that Version 1 had a close encounter with Chuck Palumbo’s fist Saturday night during a non-televised live event in Jacksonville.
Post-Armageddon interview with Dawn Marie FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. –Dec. 15, 2002 – Championships went on the line in four blockbuster matches at Armageddon, but the segment that drew the greatest level of interest backstage didn’t involve a single wrestling hold. Virtually every Superstar who wasn’t preparing for a match crowded around the backstage monitor in eager anticipation of the exclusive footage showing Dawn Marie and Torrie Wilson’s hotel room rendezvous. When the two finally kissed, a burst of cheers and whistles broke out in overwhelming approval of the segment. Once Dawn Marie made her way backstage, WWE.com caught up with her to find out what she thought of her close encounter with Torrie Wilson.

Fourway starts off Armageddon with a bang FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Dec. 15, 2002 – Booker T was euphoric after the Fatal Fourway Elimination World Tag Team Championship tonight at Armageddon. He walked around the locker room after he and Goldust won a battle with three other teams – the Dudley Boyz, Lance Storm & William Regal and the now-former champions, Chris Jericho and Christian – shouting “13 times” over and over again. It was a reference to the number of occasions he’s been a Tag Team Champion in WCW (11) and in WWE (2).
Kurt Angle: new father, new champion FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Dec. 15, 2002 – Chris Jericho claims to be the “King of the World,” but right now, Kurt Angle might beg to differ. The Olympic gold medalist and his wife, Karen, welcomed their first child into the world two weeks ago. Then, tonight, Angle defeated the Big Show to become a three-time WWE Champion.

Bret and Santa will be making an appearance at Cochrane Dodge, in Cochrane Alberta, on Saturday, December 21st, as part of a local (to Calgary) charity event. Bret has been declining public appearances while he recovers from a major stroke but in the holiday spirit he is looking forward to seeing everyone who comes out to Cochrane Dodge.
In the near future Bret will do an interview with Dave Meltzer on his radio show, date TBD, but we'll let you know as soon as it's set. Most likely it'll be later this month.
The coffee table book that we told you about a couple of months ago is now in production and due for release around September. 2003. It's a project that Bret's Assistant, Marcy, is directly involved with and she told us, " ... tell everyone on the list that the goal is to produce an absolutely stunning retrospective of Bret's legacy - it WILL definaitely include WWF (WWE) photos of Bret's career. The publisher has previously put out gorgeous photo books on other sports stars."

As many of you know, Bret has been on hiatus from his Calgary Sun column since last June and has not released any of his writing to the public since the statement he wrote about his stroke, from his hospital room, last July. We are happy to report that Bret is now working on an article for The Calgary Hitmen program, which we will send to you as soon as it is completed. He will then be writing a message to all his fans that will be posted on brethart.com - before New Years.
Bret will be resuming his weekly Calgary Sun column just around New Year's Eve and it will be available on brethart.com as well as through this mailing list. The site version will include any photos or cartoons that are published with the column in the newspaper. These have never officially been available on the net before.
