“It’s about the wrestling,” he said. “There are no silly gimmicks. You’re not out there cutting these 10-15 minute interviews and setting up these long, laborious angles. You’re going out there and wrestling. The people come to see the wrestling just like they did with ECW. They didn’t care why Sabu or Mike Awesome was wrestling. They just wanted to see them wrestle.” Clear it off my Chest Mike Awesome cannot state it any better. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to work out what is wrong with the industry. Things need to change. Not immediately, but very soon. Never has there been a time where nearly the whole of the WIC agree in unison that the wrestling "product" is failing. If for example, it was a television sitcom, it would have been canned by now, ie. - if it ain't popular anymore, it won't be on. Would the WWE be taken off the air? Unless something is initially done to garner more interest in the product, then it could become a rare and unusual prospect. I was reading an article the other day, about what effects would ensue if the brand extension was to be scrapped. Could it be a good thing, or ultimately a bad thing? Smackdown has obviously benefited from the split, but it could be argued that maybe the show uses a different approach to what we see with Raw. I mean, I don't particularly want to see Triple H twice a week, stinking both shows up. One appearance per week, should suffice for even hardcore "Trip" fans. It's almost the smallest of things that need to be changed. I think Steve Austin returning will help, but ultimately, should not be relied on as the saviour of interest. HE was still around when things were going pear-shaped. Hogan should be back. Rather have Hogan walking at a snail's pace in the ring, than putting huge heaps of crap like Albert on the main event of Smackdown. - Also as a side note, what the hell is going on with that? - First he gets to "cripple" Rey Rey, then he's feuding with Edge, he also has a PPV match? Vince is also rumoured to have banked on a Taker-Albert feud in 2003. I swear to god Vince is having a field day with the Internet.. Rock coming back is also not to be dependent on. He has a very limited role now in the WWE. Though I think if Rocky is brought back as a heel, he could do some great stuff. Maybe stop re-pushing slugs like Big Show and Albert. They’ve had their chance and they’ve dropped the ball every time. Start pushing the wrestlers that matter. The wrestlers that we all enjoy watching wrestling. Why does everyone get excited at the prospect of Benoit vs. Guererro? – Because they are both excellent wrestlers. We don’t want to see Show and Albert being put over by guys like Angle and Edge. Making sure that PPV cards are prepared, not pissed on. Armageddon is a terrible attempt at "booking on the fly". Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the WWE do a superb job with Summerslam, including the build-up, preparation, promotion and the actual event itself? - Then each PPV that has gone by since, all that hard work has been lost again. Surely, the writers don't occupy themselves all day to write these quality and stimulating storylines we are witnessing nowadays. These are not sudden radical changes. By suggesting these aspects, it's not requiring that the WWE scrap everything we have, and start again. I remember back in the Year 2000, towards the end of the year, many people were stating that wrestling was about to create a transition, but nobody was sure in which direction it was heading towards. With WCW and ECW about to hit the wall, nobody was even sure then whether it was going to help or hinder the WWE. Ever since that time, it has been downhill since and no sign of it halting. I was a fan of the brand extension to some extent, in it's early initiation. What transpired after with the elimination of many of the singles title's, and worst of all, the IC Title, I began to have my support questioned. I have not watched Raw for many a month, because I've been away from home at Uni, and have only caught Smackdown once or twice. I have seen the last 2 PPV's, which I have to admit, I've enjoyed. So I should. The talent and matches should be the "cream of the crop", especially if fan's are asked to part with their hard-earned cash to purchase these show's. I am now back home for the Christmas holidays, and hope to get 3 weeks worth of watching Raw and Smackdown, and I will try and do it with a big smile on my face. Then, maybe I will be in a position to criticise/praise the current product from the WWE. This isn't a rant to suggest that I know what is best, and the people reading this should accept my opinion. I think we should all as wrestling fans, just shut it, and get behind what we love watching. We are all wrestling fans, we've got a product out there, that needs our help, so let's get on with it! The Kurt Angle Appreciation Paragraph - #421 Kurt Angle should win the WWE Title this Sunday. Kurt Angle is better than Big Show in every aspect. Kurt Angle is the uncrowned champion of 2002. Kurt Angle is the Wrestler of the Year. Kurt Angle will most probably job his ass off to a guy who deserves nothing. Kurt Angle doesn't deserve to job to him. Kurt Angle will do it, because that's the type of guy he is. 61% of 20,308 WWE.com visitors expect Kurt Angle to defeat the Big Show. 38% already know the inevitable outcome. Everyone wants to see Kurt Angle vs. Brock Lesnar. Let's face it WWE, your becoming too predictable. Oh, and as a side-note, thanks to everyone who sent me e-mails regarding the last edition of GDH. It was the "Note to Triple H" edition which riled up some people. Nothing better than a good ol' fashioned, erm, I won’t use the obvious term. Sorry I did not reply to all of them, but again, your e-mails are always welcome and I will try to respond to all of 'em.
