Backstage Notes from RAW/SmackDown: RAW bad quality, Steve Austin

    - Before the SmackDown tapings last night, it is being reported that the SmackDown wrestlers were watching a tape of RAW from this past Monday night in the catering room. While the show was playing, there was a lot of talk about how bad the show has become and how morale is so bad that that any young superstar trying to break that "glass ceiling" won't be able to unless they come to SmackDown. While many understood the reason why Triple H interfered in the Main Event, they still pointed out the top feud on RAW as Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels, proof that nothing has been done as of yet on RAW to push new and younger talent.

    - In addition to the RAW conversation at SmackDown, the topic of Steve Austin also came up. Many of the wrestlers feel that his return could be happening very soon, especially now that his legal problems are solved as noted this past week. Others were wondering how Austin would handle his probation, which states he cannot drink alcohol for a certain period of time. This would obviously hurt the "Stone Cold" character which largely depends on slamming down beers following matches or promos.

    - There was a lot of talk backstage at both RAW and SmackDown this past week concerning the recent involvement with the World Wildlife Fund and whether it will keep affecting the company's business. Many have began to look upon the company as a strong concern and how it is almost becoming a threat to WWE at this point.
