  • The following is an article from India's national paper "The Hindu" on WWE's show in Mumbai.

    WWE show thrills Mumbai crowd

Mumbai, Nov. 23. (PTI): The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) experts left the Mumbai crowd, mostly schoolgoing children and collegians, thrilled performing before a packed house at Bandra here last night.

The tickets priced from Rs 450 to as high as Rs 3,000, but they sold like hot cakes as young fans enjoyed themselves thoroughly watching the seven feet Kane, weighing 280 pounds.

Others who were seen in action were Booker-T, Chris Gericho, Lance Storm, Christian and Gold Dust.

The lone woman wrestler, Ivory (real name Lisa Moratti), did not take part in the wrestling but promised to come back soon and dish out entertainment with many other women wrestlers in the near future.

About 15,000 to 20,000 fans watched the three-hour show and the wrestlers left this morning for Bangalore, on the last leg of their tour.

This week, Hulk Hogan joined the No Holds Barred radio show and here are the highlights.

He put over his new book and said it was hard to put the story into 343 pages. He wanted to tell the rags to riches story and avoid the Jerry Springer material.

Of all his great moments, he said his match with the Rock at Wrestlemania 18 was the highlight of his great career. He wanted to prove to all the doubters that thought he was too old and couldn't do it anymore.

When you reach his status, he said you're only as good as your last match. He did not want to be remembered as the guy Vince Russo kicked out of WCW. The verbal tirade on Hogan by Russo was not planned and after the verbal assault, Hogan was so angry that Eric Bischoff told him to leave the building and not do anything stupid. If he ever saw Russo again, he said it would still be "on."

He listed slamming Andre the Giant as another highlight and said he got so big at Wrestlemania 3. Andre was close to 700 pounds.

He talked about his victory over the Iron Sheik at the Garden and how Verne Gagne offered the Sheik 500,000 dollars to break Hogan's leg in the ring. He said Wrestling was barbaric and was not surprised the offer was made but he praised the Sheik for taking the high road and not going through with it.

When asked about the steroid trial. Hulk said the federal government tried to ruin his relationship with Vince Mcmahon.

Hogan was asked about the present and he said he was supposed to be in the main event at Survivor Series with Lesnar but could not agree creatively with Vince. Talks with McMahon about Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania have also taken place but they agreed to disagree on a effective storyline.

Hogan wanted to be in a WWE ring at Summerslam against Vince himself and as he put it, "rock the house". He said there could be some serious venting going on between the two.

He put over his fans and said no matter what anyone tries to do to Hulk-a-Mania, the fans are always on his team.

He wants to retire out of WWE as the Babe Ruth of the company but has vowed to No Holds Barred Radio that he has not wrestled his last match. If some agreement can't be reached with Mcmahon and WWE, he said he will be wrestling in Japan with Goldberg after the first of January.
