Segment #1- The show opened with a video recap of the 11/16/02 Exit Sandman show. It started with Shane Douglas introducing Joey Styles, and included highlights of Chris Chetti/Shark Boy, Mexico's Most Wanted/Dead Prez, Chris Hamrick/Malice, Super Crazy/Psicosis (including the rubber chicken), Altar Boy Luke/Angel/Supreme (including the powerslam from the scaffold), Sandman's confrontation with Pogo the Clown, Kaos/Danny Doring, and Shane Douglas/Chris Candido/Vic Grimes. The package ended with "Details and Joey Styles himself next week on XPW TV"
Segment #2- "J-Love Is Coming to XPW"
Segment #3- (From December 1999)- The Public Enemy vs. The Westside NGZ (Kronic & Big Ron). The match starts with Public Enemy jumping the Westside NGZ. Grunge dropkicks Big Ron while Rocco Rock battles Kronicc on the outside. Rocco Rock drives barbed wire from the X in XPW on the stage into Kronic's head. Grunge is back in the ring with Big Ron. Rocco and Kronicc make it into the ring too. Rocco attempts the Hakushi rope walk but gets crotched and falls to the outside. Grunge puts Big Ron on a table outside the ring and dives off the top turnbuckle to the outside through the table. Kronicc gets a chair and nails Rocco Rock 4-5 times with it before Rocco Rock nails Kronic in the groin and starts hitting him with chair shots. More tables are being set up as Kronic whips Rocco Rock over the guardrail and throws chairs at him. Grunge gets tossed into a table back inside the ring. All of a sudden The Pit Bulls run in and start attacking The Public Enemy and the Westside NGZ. Grunge delivers a swinging neckbreaker inside the ring while Rocco Rock sets Pit Bull #1 on a table. Pit Bull #2 is beating on Kronic while Rocco Rock delivers an elbow to Pit Bull #1 through two tables. Pit Bull #2 is working over Grunge inside the ring while everyone else makes their way back to the ring. Grunge sets up a table on the outside while the Pit Bulls set one up inside. The Westsiders double team Rocco Rock on the outside until Grunge makes the save. Grunge slams Big Ron's head into the speakers while the Pit Bulls double team Rocco inside. Kronic pours lighter fluid all over the table inside the ring and sets it on fire as the Pit Bulls superbomb Rocco Rock through the table that is on fire. The Pit Bulls knock over the HUGE X at the entrance way almost crushing one member of each of the other teams. The referee signals for the bell for no apparent reason soon after the X was toppled and rules the match a No Contest!
Segment #4- (From 11/24/01)- Vic Grimes vs. Psicosis. Grimes overpowers Psicosis on the initial lockup and tosses him into the corner. Psicosis then attempts to overpower Grimes with a shoulder block but gets destroyed. Grimes and Psicosis run the ropes leading to a Grimes arm drag followed by a Psicosis knee to the chest and a few chops before delivering a huracanrana and clothesline over the top in a very fast paced sequence. Psicosis then dives over the top rope onto Grimes. Grimes reverses a whip and tosses Psicosis into the guardrail but Psicosis then moves as Grimes charged in after him. Psicosis then executes a huracanrana from the apron to the concrete on the outside. Psicosis then hits Grimes with a spinning heal kick from the top rope. He then goes for another huracanrana but Grimes reverses it into a tilt-a-whirl facebuster. Grimes then starts to beat on Psicosis and tosses him to the outside. He hits Psicosis with a vicious clothesline from the apron to the outside. Grimes then slams Psicosis to the concrete and goes for the Mick Foley elbow from the apron to the concrete and hits it. Grimes asks for a chair and gets one from the fans. He throws it into the ring nailing Psicosis in the head. Grimes sets the chair up in the corner between the turnbuckles. Grimes goes to whip Psicosis into the chair but Psicosis reverses it sending Grimes face first into the chair. Psicosis goes for a springboard moonsault but Grimes catches him and hits a Crucifix Powerbomb. Grimes pounds away on Psicosis in the corner with forearms to the head and then follows him into the opposite corner with a huge clothesline before delivering a crushing blow to Psicosis's head with his a$$. Grimes then delivers a headbutt to the groin. Grimes then goes to the top rope but misses a senton. Psicosis goes to the top rope and nails a Tornado DDT. Psicosis then executes a body scissors into a bulldog for a two count. Psicosis goes for a huracanrana again but Grimes catches him and gives him what I can only describe as a backwards powerbomb. Grimes then delivers a powerbomb to a limp Psicosis and heads for the top rope. Psicosis gets to his feet and crotches Grimes at the last second. Psicosis climbs up the ropes and hits a huracanrana from the top rope. That is a lot of huracanranas in one match. I remember the first time I ever heard of someone doing that maneuver in the US. It happened to be Scott Steiner. Imagine him trying to do one now?? Psicosis goes for a leg scissors from the top rope but Grimes catches him and hits him with a neckbreakers for the pinfall victory.
Segment #5- (From 5/26/01)- Kid Kaos vs. White Trash Johnny Webb in a Deathmatch to determine the #1 contender to the King of the Deathmatch Title. There are barbed wire boards and light tubes set up in the ring. Webb clotheslines Kaos to the outside and starts beating on him with a singapore cane. Kaos whips Webb into the guardrail and picks up the barbed wire spider web contraption and tosses it into the ring. Kaos tries to drive Webb's head into the barbed wire but Webb prevents it. Webb tries to toss Kaos into a bed of nails but Kaos stops short. Webb then tosses Kaos chest first into the bed of nails. Webb only gets a two count though. Webb then takes Kaos back to the nails and rakes his face over them. Webb back body drops Kaos onto the armor covered with barbed wire. He then rakes his face on the barbed wire. Kaos is now busted open and bleeding heavily. Webb kicks Kaos in the back of the head and dumps a HUGE bed of thumbtacks all over Kaos. Webb puts some of the tacks in his mouth and spits them at Kaos. Kaos fights back and drives Webb's head into the barbed wire. Kaos grabs the bed of light tubes and positions it in the center of the ring. He goes to suplex Webb but Webb blocks it and reverses it suplexing Kaos into the light tubes. Kaos picks up a light tube and nails Webb with it dropping him to his knees. Kaos grabs another light tube as Webb bails to the outside to regroup. Kaos follows him out and goes to hit him with a light tube but Webb blocks it and crawls back into the ring. Kaos grabs a singapore cane and goes in the ring and nails Webb 3 times sending him into the light tubes and thumb tacks. Kaos then grinds a light tube into Webb's forehead. Webb is also busted open by now but somehow manages to drive Kaos into the thumbtacks. Webb goes for a legdrop but lands in the thumbtacks again. Kaos superkicks Webb sending him into the barbed wire. Webb bails to the outside again for a breather, but Kaos follows him out and throws a table into the ring. Kaos sets up a table inside as Webb climbs back in. Kaos grabs Webb and drives him into the barbed wire and then shoulde blocks him into the barbed wire even harder. Kaos now has a bag and dumps more thumbtacks onto the table. He works over Webb and places him on the thumbtacks on the table and goes to the top rope. Webb gets up and catches Kaos and powerbombs him through the table. Steve Rizzono, G.Q. Money, P.J. Rush, and Veronica Caine make their way to the ring distracting Webb. Webb picks up Kaos and slams him into a pile of thumbtacks. Webb tries to drive Kaos into the barbed wire but Kaos fights him off. Webb goes to suplex Kaos but Kaos reverses it sending Webb into the thumbtacks once again. Blood is dripping off of Kaos's face and thumbtacks are stuck throughout Webb's body. The bed of lightbulbs is now in the middle of the ring. Webb positions it where he wants it and grabs Kaos. Kaos whips Webb to the ropes and delivers a vicious spinebuster into the bed of lighttubes. Very sick spot as the lighttubes immediately turned red from the blood. Blood is pouring out of Kaos's head. They fight to the outside. Both men are slipping on the floor due to the thumbtacks stuck in their shoes. Kaos drags Webb back in the ring and puts him on the thumbtacks. He goes to the top rope and goes for a moonsault but Webb moves causing Kaos to land in the thumbtacks. Veronica Caine distracts the ref while G.Q. Money gives P.J. Rush and Steve Rizzono a light tube each. Webb goes for a pinfall but the ref is distracted as Rizzono and Rush nail Webb with the light tubes and put Kaos on top of Webb. The ref turns around and makes the three count. Kid Kaos is now the #1 contender for The Messiah's King of the Death Match Title. Very entertaining match, and I am not even a big fan of death matches.
NOTES:
As someone who has not seen much XPW stuff prior to their Philadelphia debut, this was a very interesting show. Got to have a little look back on their past. Each match was pretty darn good in it's own way. Three Way tag brawls usually aren't that good, but this one was. Death matches get boring after awhile, but Webb vs. Kaos was one of the better ones I have seen, and Grimes vs. Psicosis was a contrast in styles that was done very well. This was really a solid TV show. Looking forward to more of the current stuff next week, but this was a nice change of pace.
XPW returns to Viking Hall in Philadelphia, PA on Saturday night, December 21st with Merry F'N Christmas!
