-A good week of Ohio Valley Wrestling as the third of the fourth leg of the "Run for the Rumble" took place, setting the stage for the OVW Heavyweight title match next week.
-Mark Magnus vs. Badd Dogg DARK MATCH
-Mark Jindrak was originally booked in this match but was scratched for unannounced reasons. The rumor out currently is that Jindrak suffered a pretty serious injury, in what looks to be an ankle injury, from what I've heard. The two opened off with a tie up to the corner, with Badd Dogg showing his superior strength. Dogg continued the assault punching Magnus down to the mat, and followed with a big spinebuster. Magnus got in a little offense, but for the most part Badd Dogg dominated. Dogg hit a second rope shoulder tackle, a spear and finished off Magnus with a double underhook sitdown powerbomb.
-Winner via pinfall Badd Dogg
-Nova vs. Kanyon
-As the cameras for this week's OVW TV show began rolling, they were met by the ever so distinct sound of "Who Betta than Kanyon" across the loud speakers, as Kanyon made his long awaited return to the ring, here in Ohio Valley Wrestling. Nova made his entrance next and recieved another mixed reaction from his 'turning' fans. Kanyon began the quick offensive assault on Nova, puching him into the corner. Nova although turned the tides by taking the arm of Kanyon, gaining the control of the match. Nova walked the second rope, similar to Undertaker, and then delivered a leg drop to the arm of Kanyon. Nova then took to the outside, as he stood on the ring apron, he jumped over Kanyon, who was on the other side of the ropes, and attempted the sunset flip, but Kanyon reversed this attack, using his momentum and delivered a very nice northern lights suplex into a bridge, but only picked up the two count. Kanyon, after a few minutes, then went to the top rope and attempted to hit Nova with the moonsault, but Nova courageously rolled out of the way, but only managed to gain a two count after rolling Kanyon up with a small package. As it appeared Nova finally gained the upperhand Kanyon launched a huge handful of powder into the face of Nova, which the ref saw and disqualified Kanyon. After this happened Kanyon delivered a version of a swinging neck breaker, using his knee, followed by a neck breaker off of the top rope to Nova, as the Davis arena fans layed it in hard to Kanyon when he once again asked them "Who Betta??".
-Winner via DQ Nova
-Alex Croft vs. Johnny Jeter DARK MATCH
-An overall decent match by the two young up and comers in Ohio Valley Wrestling. Jeter delivered a strong clothesline early on in the match to Croft, which Croft seemingly held against Jeter throughout the entire match. The two went back and forth, but Croft kept delivering a very stiff clothesline out of nowhere to the up and coming OVW superstar. Jeter tried the quick small package to Croft, but to no avail. Eventually, Jeter managed to get Croft in position for his picture perfect top rope spinkick, finally being able to gain the pinfall and the victory.
-Winner via pinfall Johnny Jeter
-Eric Angle vs. Johnny Spade
-Spade opened off strong on Angle, delivering very loud chops to the brother of Kurt Angle making his OVW TV in ring debut, as I believe he did not have any TV matches in his first OVW run prior to his injury. Although Spade was the one giving chops, Angle was the one delivering a huge powerslam to Spade, sending him crashing down hard to that mat. Spade, although was able to make it to his feet, and actually began mocking the actions of Eric's brother Kurt, taunting Angle. Out of nowhere Eric Angle delivered the Olympic slam to Spade and managed to pick up the three count, ending the match as quickly as it began. After the match he delivered the ankle lock to Spade, adding insult to injury, as the Davis Arena crowd was on its feet. Almost immediately the rest of the Revolution, consisting of Doug Basham and Damaja stormed the ring and attacked Angle, until Nick Dinsmore and Rob Conway made the save.
-Winner via pinfall Eric Angle
-BJ Payne & Damien vs. Seven & Bane w/ Synn
-Damien made his way to the ring as BJ Payne's mystery partner as he has been out of OVW action for a good time now as well. Immediately the brawl began with Seven and Damien took it to the outside with BJ and Bane wrestling in the ring. Seven and Damien went all the way from the exit door to the brand new Davis Arena concession stand, as I believe some food was involved in the melee. The crowd which was somewhat quieter than usual, were extremely hot in this match the whole time. After BJ was through working on the leg of Bane in the ring, he took him to the outside, as Damien and Seven made their way back into the ring, and went toward the fire escape door as well. BJ Payne even body slammed Bane down hard to the Davis Arena floor, recieving a huge pop from the crowd, which was on their feet. The match was overall very good, and by far the most heated match of the night. WWE should really consider resigning BJ Payne to a developmental deal, so he is not lost to another promotion. It appeared, after Damien was tagged in, and cleaned house with Seven and Bane that he was about to gain the pinfall, but Synn managed to pull the referee out of the ring, disruption the three count. For this, BJ Payne hit Synn very hard in the face, as Damien delivered a back body drop to Seven in the ring. Although Damien delivered that successfully, he could not battle the two new Deciples of Synn members as Bane drilled Damien with a hard clothesline and followed by gaining the pinfall as the ref made his way back into the ring.
-Winners via pinfall Bane and Seven w/ Synn
-Jim Cornette was joined in the ring with Badd Dogg, for the next interview segment. Cornette stated all of the problems that OVW has had to deal with because of the actions of Badd Dogg over the past few weeks, and explained Dogg's possesion of the two Southern Tag titles. Cornette also went on to announce to the Davis Arena crowd that in two weeks, the same week that Kurt Angle would be in the house, that Shelton Benjamin would be in the house as well, in search of his Southern Tag Title. Just as Cornette annoucned this, he was attacked by Badd Dogg. Dogg tried to deliver the double underhook sit down powerbomb, but the referees ran in the ring, who were all viciously attacked by Dogg as he made his way to the back, and the cameras went to break.
-Jim Cornette was joined with Arn Anderson, who was here to check out the happenings in the "Run for the Rumble". He stated that Nova, who may have suffered a mild neck injury at the hands of Kanyon, and Arn Anderson understands neck injuries, should be able to wrestle the winner of tonight's TV main event on next week's program as scheduled. He also went on to hype up the championship match next week as the cameras cut to Damaja making his entrance for the TV Main event, second to last match of the "Run for the Rumble".
-Damaja w/ Jackie vs. Nick Dinsmore TV MAIN EVENT RUN FOR THE RUMBLE - NO. 1 CONTENDER MATCH
-As Damaja made his way down to the ring with Jackie a very loud "Hot Tub Ho" chant could be heard, but was eventually stopped by the applause recieved by Nick Dinsmore, as he made his way to the ring. The two got off to a very technical start working on each others arms until they took to the mat. Dinsmore then managed to gain the control of the match with a head scissors, eventually bringing it up to a headlock. Once the two made their way back up to their feet a chop war began, as the two traded chops back and forth with each other. Dinsmore then hit an atomic drop, followed by an inverted atomic drop, as the crowd was behind him 100% with a very loud "Go Nick Go" chant. Dinsmore and Damaja continued, exchanging pinfall attempts, but neither managed to gain the pinfall. Damaja then applied a solid abdominal stretch to Dinsmore but Nick managed to work his way out, and delivered a solid crescent kick to the chin of Damaja. As Dinsmore went for the pin Jackie pulled the ref out of the ring. Immediately, Linda Miles, who was actually sittiing ringside the entire show, jumped the gate and attacked Jackie, as the two brawled around on the floor. At this time, Dinsmore had the German Suplex applied in the ring, but the ref was preoccupied on the outside. Johnny Spade then tried to come in, but Rob Conway ran out and pulled him away as the two brawled to the back. The only other wrestler left, with interest in the 'Run' Doug Basham, made his way out as well, but was stopped almost immediately by Eric Angle, who was seeking revenge for earlier. Dinsmore at this time was climbing to the top rope, which was probably a set up to his missle drop kick, but Damaja hit the rope and caused Dinsmore to rack himself. Damaja then brought Dinsmore to the center of the ring and delivered his finish the Brain Damaj to Dinsmore in the center of the ring, and gained the pinfall and the win, as Damaja will now advance to take on Nova for the OVW Heavyweigh ttile on next weeks television programming, concluding another excellent week of Ohio Valley Wrestling.
-Winner via pinfall Damaja
