Orton to appear on RAW despite injury DETROIT – Oct. 28, 2002 – Imagine you’re a 22-year-old blue-chip prospect getting your first big break in World Wrestling Entertainment. Now imagine that, within two weeks of getting that break, you become injured and are forced to sit on the sidelines for three to four months.
Nowinski returns four weeks early DETROIT – Oct. 28, 2002 – Christopher Nowinski wasn’t supposed to be back on RAW yet. “What was supposed to be six weeks turned out to be two and a half,” he said. He was referring to surgery to remove a benign tumor from his left cheekbone area, near his ear.
A reliable source has made it clear to me that NWA:TNA actually offered Scott Steiner a deal to work for the promotion. From what I am told, NWA:TNA offered the former WCW champion $5000 per show, with a contract consisting of around 50 shows, which would have made Steiner $250,000. Obviously, this is only a small percentage of what the WWE offered Steiner.
It appears that Sunday's Smackdown brand show in the United Kingdom was indeed pretty close to a sell out, but a great deal of fans could not get to the arena. I have received word from many disappointed fans that they were unable to reach the arena due to the disastrous weather conditions that hit most of the United Kingdom on Sunday. According to one source, when fans, who could not make the event, rang up the arena regarding refunds, they were told that they had not yet made a decision.
