    Report by little dijon

Show began with announcer Tony Chimmel coming to the ring to
give us the speech about photographs, camcorders etc... Crowd
immediately hit in with the What chants - hey it might be out of
date but this is the first time we had WWE in Northern Ireland in
over ten years. It should also be worth noting that my ticket
cost £55 which I queued for from 8.00 in the morning yet I know
a guy who paid £22 and was sitting closer than me who rang up
and ordered his from ticketmaster at 2:00 that afternoon.....

Tajiri's music is officially the first entrance theme of the
evening and he is quickly joined by his tag team partner Jamie
Knoble. Weren't they enemies on television last week?!?!
Apparently here in Belfast they have forgotten this - no Nidia -
no Nidia! Worth noting they both got major pops seeing as how
they were first out. Their opponents on this nite would be the
former WCW Tag Champs and Cruiserweight Tag Champs - Kidman and
Rey Mysterio who came out in that order. Crowd went mad for
    Mysterio.

Crowd was pumped throughout this match with several clappy
things to cheer on a beaten down Kidman and 619 chants to cheer
on Rey when he was getting a beaten down by the baddies. Also
Jamie Knoble got loud Asshole chants.Definitely these guys except
Rey never get a reaction like this on television. Rey and Kidman
win match number one in about 11mins.

Match Two saw Shannon Moore and Funaki (who got a major pop)
against the formidable duo of ahem... Crash Holly and Bill Demot
(aka Hugh Morrus). Funaki and Crash started off. Crash pulled out
from his tights a little white and red head band (ala Karate Kid)
in an effort to get some heat of Funaki. But this was lost on the
people of Belfast however, as they began cheering for the rather
racist Elroy lookalike who was actually trying to play the heel
by doing this. Nothing fancy in this match and after about 8mins
Funaki and Shannon Moore get the win. But in fairness no one
cared.... we were still in awe at seeing these guys live for the
    first time for flip sake.

Before Match Three Matt Hardy Version One made his way to the
ring to a major face pop. He got in the ring and got on the mic
and said that it should be an honor for all the people of Belfast
to finally get to experience Mattitude - he was right and we
cheered him on. He then opened a challenge to anyone on the
Smackdown... no anyone on the Smackdown or Raw roster to come out
    and try and beat him.

"Can you Dig it Sucka?!?!" plays over the speaker
system and we all know who came out. Raw's very own Booker T.
Rather dull match between the two despite the major pops both men
got when they came out - Booker picked up the win after the 9
minute mark with his patented Harlem Sidekick thing. He of course
sent the place crazy when he hit the most electrifying move in
sports entertainment today - the spinneroonie.

Match Number Four featured John Cena - I reckon about 50% of
the audience knew who the feck this guy was and Albert who was in
his Stone Cold Version 2 gear. Their opponents - a now black
haired, black tights Chuck and his partner filling in for the
absent Billy Gunn - Val Venis. No one was looking forward to this
match so I began a "Shave your Back" chant which thanx
to the girls seated near me whom I have never met who picked up
on it and helped me out a little became an arena wide chant. My
proudest moment. Also a Cena sucks chant got underway. This was
the longest match of the nite with Cena and Albert both playing
the heels well by responding to the crowds who were giving them
major heat and stalling wherever possible in the match.

This John Cena looks like he could be a very good heel in the
future. As I said a lot of stalling on the part of the dastardly
heels who picked up the win after Alberto hit the Baldo Bomb on
the big Valbowski. For some reason Val sold this injury like he
had been Baldo Bombed on a pile of bricks. Crowd seemed to like
Chuck for some reason to and Chuck would eventually help Val to
his feet and they would get a quick pop before they left. Why
they chose to sell the Baldo Bomb is beyond me. JR probably sent
Val a fax and said he had to make Albert look good or he'd beat
    him like a goverment mule.

Testify my brothers, Match Number Five is Dvon and his friend
Ron Simmons - who in real life looks like a real buffed up m*tha
f*cka. Seriously out of all the guys I saw 2nite, Ron's physique
was really the most surprising. Dvon and Ron get on the house mic
and say how they dont see many of their own kind around Belfast.
Ron says he might stick around for a while and help create a few
more of "his kind". Ron was quite funny and got a well
    deserved laugh.

Rikishi came down - my frickin favourite wrestler ever... yeah
I'm serious?!?! And he said since Dvon got Ron Simmons in his
corner then he should have a corner person. He then announced
Northern Ireland's very own star from Carrickfergus.... Fit
Finlay. I reckon there was again about 50% of the crowd who knew
who the feck Fit Finlay is. Not many people recognised him, but
he was conveniently wearing the local ice hockey team's jersey
"The Belfast Giants" so the good respectful people of
    Belfast popped for him anyway.

I also enjoying telling the people I was with and the people
on the row behind all I knew about The Belfast Bruiser and his
contests against Booker T many years ago in the old WCW. The
match was riddled with outside inteference - damn that low life
Ron Simmons and Dvon pulled of the victory. After the match
Rikishi got his revenge and he and Finlay did dual stickfaces on
the heels. Rikishi then got on the mic and asked Finlay to dance
with him to which Finlay replied that he didnt really know much
about dancing but he knew some people who did - queue "The
Belfast Giants" who came out to the usual chant from the
crowd of "Lets go Giants, lets go".

So in the segment which had the biggest crowd reaction of the
nite Rikishi, Finlay and the Giants all danced in the ring.
Rikishi was well over with the Belfast crowd when he left - I bet
he wished he wrestled in Belfast all the time. Chimmel gets on
the mic and announces a brief intermission.

At this point I went a wonder and as fate would have it I was
passing a little gift shop that sells clothes in the arena which
had been closed so that several wrestlers could get a few things.
So i stood gazing in the window with about 50 other people
watching Sgt Slaughter, Val Venis (now 100% cured from his
earliar life threatening Baldo Bomb from hell) and John Cena - no
one knew him. From what I could make out the Sarge wanted nothing
to do with the fans, Val wanted nothing to do with most fans bar
a couple of kids and John Cena - well no one went near him. Poor
    bastard....

Then while all these kids r fussing looking through a window
at these guys who walks quietly by avoiding all the fuss - only
fricking Tim White and Ron Simmons. I went over and had me digi
camera and tried to get a pic with them but I had no one to take
the pic so in the end I just got a pic of them. They seemed in a
bit of a rush but Tim shook my hand after I mentioned how I
respected how he talked bout Andre the Giant - who his good
friend and they stopped and let me take a pic.

I guess it's open to debate whether or not wrestlers have to
sign autographs and take time out for their fans on their own
time. Are they endebted to us or vice versa. I made up my mind
when Matt Hardy came in and was flanked by 2 security and just
completely shunned everyone as he went by. Like we gave him a
major pop yet he couldnt take time out to even acknowledge some
of his fans. Like a second of their time 2 say hello or write
down their name wont affect their life much but it would make
some little kids life and give them a memory they'll never forget.
I guess you could call that having a Bad Mattitude!!!! Matt Hardy
was the most ignorant wrestler I met 2nite and Tim White was the
    most kind.

After intermission - Kurt Angle/Benoit are already in action
against Guerro's are Us! Apparently Eddie got on the mic but
Angle didnt prior to the match. I really was looking forward to
doing the whole You Suck for Angle's music but I was out at the
time trying to talk to Val and the gang. Kurt's my favourite
wrestler ever but in my opinion this match didnt really live up
to expectations. After about 16mins Angle Olympic Slam beats
Eddie. Then post match Angle and Benoit star fighting following a
misunderstanding toward the end of the match when Angle knocked
Benoit off the Apron. This prompted Eddie and Chavo to go back to
the ring to get some revenge but then Angle and Benoit reunited
and kicked some ass. Handshake at the end and the surprisingly
face duo here in Belfast got a good ovation as they left.

Match Number 7 is Dawn Marie against Torrie Wilson in a bra
and panties match. Same basic match as No Mercy but I aint
complaining as seeing it live was f*ckin excellent. Crowd was
aroused the whole time - u know what I mean. Torrie is so much
better looking in real life than on tv and on tv she's damn fine
anyway. So you can just imagine what she looks like in person.
Unfortunately Torrie won, but as a consilation she pulled her
trousers (in America you call them pants) down a little bit as a
wee tease for us. What a class act - what a classy lady is Torrie.

Finally our main event Match Number 8 is Edge and Brock Lesnar.
By far my favourite match of the nite as the crowd was pretty
pumped after Bra and Panties. Even Mike Chioda got a big pop when
he came down to referee this match. Edge was the face of the nite
with the biggest pop and Brock did quite good to. No Paul Heyman
though. The match went back and forth with a few near falls
before Edge rolled up Brock and became the new Champion..... I'm
joking - like the title would change on a house show in Northern
Ireland. The match ended when Brock hit Edge with a chair to the
abdomin when Edge jumped at him from top rope. Then Brock hit the
F5 for the win. Excellent match. Brock is really a big kick ass
machine. Of course Edge got up after the match and thanked the
crowd and invited some wee kid in with him. Nice touch.

Over all not bad event - hey I'd rather be there in person to
watch Rikishi, Albert and the guys in action that at home
watching tv. WWE live is brilliant. Disappointments were no
Undertaker and no Kurt Angle on the microphone and being
completely shunned by Matt Hardy. But over all a good show and I
will be definitely getting Rebellion on box office tomorow nite.
