Smackdown's rating was on the rise this week as the show did a 3.6 broadcast rating with a 5 share. This is up from last week's 3.5. The WWE has to be happy with the number since a lot of the high profile premires on both CBS and NBC were on last night.

SSCW Wrestling Inc. today officially announced the signing of Scott Steiner to wrestle on October 29, 2002 at Medieval Times in Lyndhurst, NJ for their event entitled Hell-O-Ween.
This will be Big Poppa Pump’s first, and possibly last, appearance in the NY/NJ area in about 4 years. In addition to wrestling on the show itself, The Big Booty Daddy will be signing autographs in a special Meet & Greet session prior to the show from 5 P.M. – 7 P.M. The show itself will have a 7:30 BellTime.
Others scheduled to appear include ECW World Heavyweight Champion "King Of Old School" Steve Corino, Indy sensation Valentina, Bryan Wenzel, SSCW Champion "Playboy" Will Damon, National Champion Johnny Thunder, Allura, The Solution, Chino and Angel Martinez, Tag Champions Shaolin Wrecking Crew, Lightweight Champion Rob Echoes, Flash Wheeler, New Wave, and TV Champion Damian Adams among others.
SSCW CEO Carmine Sabia was quoted as saying "The signing of Scott Steiner is a major step in the right direction for our company. To add a star like that to your show takes you to that ‘next level’. We believe we are developing a product that will take this company into a bright new future."
When reached for comment, SSCW COO James Saad stated "Where do I even begin? It’s not everyday you add a talent like Scott Steiner. Mr. Steiner adds fame, experience, class, and a great work ethic to an already great lineup."
Scott Steiner has competed all over the world for every major promotion. He has held titles such as: The WWF/WWE Tag Team Championship, WCW TV Championship, WCW United States Championship, WCW Tag Team Championship and of course the WCW World Heavyweight Championship.
