WWE House Show Results from San Jose, California 9-21-02

I just got back from the house show in compaq center in san jose.

very very poor turnout for this one. they closed off the entire upper deck.
that meant people like me who bought tickets on day of show had no choice
but to pay for lower deck $35-$40 seats. the compaq center holds 19,000 for
hockey, so with the floor open about 20,000 capacity. i'd say no more then
3,000 showed up for this one. alot more then half of bottom deck was open.
not hard to find space where i could put my leg up which was a plus. when
the WWE says subject to change they really mean it, only 3 of 10 announced
matches actually occured. finger of shame on WWE!

now with the results

-pyro

special guess announcer: torrie wilson (like tito always says, kidman is one
lucky bastard to be getting engaged with torrie wilson.)

match 1: Cruiserweight Championship 3-way elimination match w/ Rey Mysterio
vs Billy Kidman vs Jaime Knoble with Nidia

alot of clotheslines for a cruiserweight bout which is very dissapointing.
lots of tag work between kidman and mysterio. kidman hit the shortpowerbomb
on knoble for a two count. but with rey mysterio thrown to the floor. knoble
got a cheap pin on kidman with his feet on the ropes for the 1st pinfall.
rey rey goes for the 619 on knoble but nidia get a hold of rey reys foot.
trailer park hitch (tigerbomb)on mysterio for the vitory.
rating:***1/2 (no shooting star press or that springboard hurricaranna)

aftermath, 619 on knoble by rey rey. then bronco buster by torrie wilson on
nidia. then rey rey got his turn on nidia too.

match 2:john cena vs bull buchanan

i tried to start a boring chant before the bell even rang. cena must have
hip tossed buchanan about 8times in this boring excuse for a match. probobly
one good spot for the entire 5minute borefest. cena did hit his finisher, a
swinging fisherman suplex (ripping off kanyon) but only got a 2 count. am
not sure but i think cena won with a rollup. great match to put on to kill
the crowd after the hot opener.
rating:DUD

-reverend d-von cuts a promo bashing the san jose sharks. and calls all the
fans hipocrites for cheering people like rikishi, edge and not for great
talent like matt hardy, guerreros, yada yada and himself.

match 3: reverand d-von vs randy orton
old school match with neither of them hitting any of their signiture moves.
except when orton his frogsplash/cross body and d-von hit his curtain call
into an inverted suplex.
rating:** orton didnt do the neckbreaker every one has been raving about. if
you didnt know, he stole the move from "above average" mike sanders, he
called it the 3.0.

match 4: chuck and billy vs mark henry/ crash holly
both teams were cheered as faces, go figure? holly hit a good running
tornado ddt. henry did nothing except clotheslines and one body splash on
the corner. finish comes with a superkick by chuck on mark henry. chuck has
one of the worst superkicks in the buisness. but he acutally made it look
good for a change.

match 5: 3 Count(the hurricane and shannon moore) vs tajiri and doug
brashum??? (am guessing hes an ovw guy)

hurricane provided 60% of the offense in this one. overcast,eye of the
hurricane.... tajiri didnt get enough stiff kicks into this match maybe 3
good kicks in all. brashum hit a nice inverted fame-asser (back of knee on
to front of neck). moore hit an over the top rope plancha. finish comes via
running enzurguri by hurricane to tajiri. what the hell? make the jobber
(brashum) get pinned.
rating:***1/2 (no vertebreaker or x-plex, no tarantula or even the octuopus
stretch.)

-promo by heymen about how brock has no desire to wrestle today.plugs match
for ppv with old man walking.

match 6: World Champion Match: Brock Lesnar w/ paul heyman vs Kane.
note:the announcer didnt annouce the belt as "undisputed"

ugh, the letdown match of the card. whoever put up the moves done in this
match should be taken out and killed. clotheslines and rest holds by lesnars
domintated this match. i'd say a good combined 2-3minutes of this match was
given to him giving headlocks to kane. impressive powerslam by lesnar on
kane though. kane irish whips lesnar to corner and accidentally nails the
ref. then he hits the chokeslam and goes for the pin with no ref. am sure
all the lesnar fans were gearing up for him to hit the f-5 but instead he
gets a chair thrown in by heymen and hits two pat on the back shots to kanes
back. moments after kane no sells and big boots lesnar who was holding the
chair (not chair to face). then a weak chairshot to lesnar, ref sees it and
calls the DQ on kane.
rating:DUD (no f-5)
lesnar needs to stick to beating the crap out of jobbers. not guys like kane
who hold lesnar back from doing anything worth watching. lesnar oversold
every punch kane gave, lesnar jumped to the floor after each one. lesnar my
favorite wresler coming into the show just became someone whom i've lost
alot of respect for.

after match kane gives heymen a chokeslam. both men are laid out on the mat
even after kane has left the ring for 2-3minutes. no shit, we had to watch
them do nothing. once they got up kane's pyro went off and scared the shit
out of heymen and lesnar. and lesnar pretended to look like he was waiting
for kane to come out.

-15 min intermission
with stupid overpriced merchendise plugs. $28 for a t-shirt! freaking
upsurd. i remember wcw shirts goin for $15, then $20 in their dying days.

-pyro again, pointless

promo by matt hardy, plugs how great he is and how we should appreciate the
fact we get to see him.

Match 7: big valbowski vs matt "i wish i was talented like my fake bro.
jeff" hardy

we want jeff chant starts. yet more hiptoss mania going on. hardy misses
2nd-rope leg drop, then misses regular leg drop. valbowski hits 2 yuranagi
suplexes (rock bottoms, except with more elevation) on hardy. pornplex on
hardy for a 2 count. twist of fate countered then countered again for the
twist of fate. hardy wins. this match following champ match and intermission
really hurt the crowd response. only cheers during match were mainly shreiks
by the ladies. boring chants too.
rating:**1/2 (angry venis didnt do his back suplex into sitdown powerbomb)

Match 8:kurt angle vs chris benoit

hands down match of the night, lots of great chain wrestling with lots of
floatovers. early crippler crossface on angle, but he got out of it in no
time, good way to kill the credibility of the hold. great spot were angle
and benoit traded germen suplexes. angle would take 3 germens, then benoit
would take 3 germens and so on. ended with a total of a dozen consecutive
germen suplexs. angle slam on benoit for 2 count. segment of both men going
for their submission holds. stupid finish with angle with foot on rope for
the win.

Match 9 (main event):kiss my ass match: rikishi/edge vs the LWO (eddy/chavo
guerrero)

edge got to do all his signiture moves like always, you wonder why hes so
over. nothing too fancy in this match since edge hogged all the offense
involeved in the match. after chavo hit a drop kick on rikishi, i screamed
"take that you big dildo", which got a good pop from the people around me.
rikishi hits the greeting from ashbury parks (aka rikishi driver,stupid name
for a move where the opponents head isnt even driven to the mat with) on
chavo for the pin.
rating:*1/2 (no frogsplash, gory special or brainbuster or any top rope
moves. i really wish jeff hardy was given the monster push instead of edge.
only reason edge gets it is cuz hes taller and more wwe body built)

me and my friends decided not to stay for the kissing of the ass. i find it
absurd people scream yea! when one man shoves his ass into another mans
face. pretty gay if you ask me.

-note to vince: discrimintation by vince to small wrestlers? yes. push lance
storm ,rey rey, rvd, benoit to world championship status. they are
smaller/medium size wrestlers that can perform better then big muscle hogan
mold borefest wreslers like kane/taker... i can see retard vince push john
cena and decaon bautista before storm or rey rey...

this show was no where near as decent as the last time they came here to san
jose for a house show. it was pretty decent last time even though it was the
aftermath of the alliance angle.

WWE needs to get things together, attendence for this show was pisspoor.

i doubt i'll ever go to another wwe event anytime soon. this show was a big
let down. ZERO POWERBOMBS, ZERO TABLES, ZERO WEAPONS USE EXCEPT FOR WEAK
WEAK CHAIRSHOTS I COULD HAVE TAKEN AND LAUGHED OFF. i've been to better indy
shows then this one and for like 8bucks. i sure wish NWA-TNA would come over
to the west and show the people what real entertainment in the ring is.
