Road Dogg involved in auto accident, Terry Funk in MLW, more Submitted by Matthew Tremley on Saturday, September 21, 2002 at 1:58 PM EST
Bad news comes out this morning as the Road Dogg was involved in an auto accident which caused some internal damage. He has been hospitalized. Apparently he had called Jersey Championship Wrestling (he was scheduled for a show tonight) and said he was on his way to the airport when a Suzuki XL 7 rear-ended him and the force of the impact caused his knees to smash into the dashboard. Naturally, he won't be appearing on tonight's JCW show.
Big news for MLW as they've added "The Hardcore Legend" Terry Funk to their Wednesday Manhattan Center show. So far, no opponent has been named for Funk. Also, MLW is supposedly set to announce either today or soon that Super Crazy will also appear on the show.
Good news for all WWE UK fans! Apparently all merchandise with the WWF name on it can't be sold after November 7th so all videotapes before King of the Ring will remain on sale only in the UK for the next several weeks. Also, all old WWF videos going back to Wrestlemania 1 are half-priced!
The NWA-TNA has announced the following matches that will take place on their Wednesday night card:
Ron Killings vs. Jerry Lynn in a lumberjack match for either the NWA-TNA Championship or the X-Division Championship. No word yet as to which title will be up for grabs.
Jeff Jarrett will take on B.G. James (though with the Road Dogg's auto accident, I don't know if this match will still take place or if Jarrett will get a new opponent)
Syxx-Pac squares off against Brian Lawler
Chris Harris & James Storm will defend the NWA-TNA Tag Team Championship. No challengers were announced.
Also, appearances by Scott Hall, A.J. Styles, Kid Kash, Low Ki, Bruce, and more.
Over in Fresno today at 2 p.m., there will be a news conference held to re-name the entry into the Fresno Convention Center parking lot to "RVD Way." Also, they will proclaim that today is "WWE Day" since today will make the third event held in the city this year. There is a house show scheduled for the Convention Center later today.
