Diamond Dallas Page returns to wrestling, HWA news, more Submitted by Matthew Tremley on Friday, September 20, 2002 at 12:50 PM EST
At the November 2nd Phoenix Championship Wrestling event at the Pleasant Middle School in N.J, Diamond Dallas Page is scheduled to appear on the show. In a press release, PCW promoter Donnie B. had this to say:
"This show means a lot to everyone here at PCW and the fact that DDP is aboard really makes it a dream come true,"
The current main event for the show will see Malice (a.k.a. The Wall from WCW) taking on Devon Storm. If you'd like ticket information, check out http://www.phoenixwrestling.com
The Heartland Wrestling Association (HWA) has let fans know through a press release that a training camp with Les Thatcher, Ricky Steamboat, and Sherri Martel that was scheduled to begin on November 11th has been postponed. The new target date for the camp to begin was "early 2003". If you'd like more information, either visit HWAonline.com or call the HWA offices at 513-771-1650.
In other HWA news, Matt Stryker was able to defeat Cody Hawk to win the HWA Championship Tuesday night. In Dayton, OH. on Sunday morning at midnight, the HWA TV show will debut on UPN 44. Also, it appears that both Race Steele and Dean Roll have left the HWA. Steel, who was a former WWE developmental talent, and Roll, who once held a WCW development deal, both worked for the HWA for extended periods.
Apparently, the fans in Canada don't have any luck with the TV stations providing WWE programming as The Score in Canada last night censored portions of the Jamie Knoble/Nidia vs. Rey Jr./Torrie Wilson match. Whenever the men were physically aggressive to the women or vice versa, they would cut to a shot of the crowd.
The NWA-TNA's own Mike Tenay will appear on tomorrow's Pro Wrestling Weekly Radio on 1040 WWBA in Florida. The show will begin at 1 p.m. (EST) and if you'd like to hear the show live and don't live in FL, you can listen along by visting http://www.internet-ad.com/wwba.asx
