All Japan ran their August 30th rally at Nippon Budokan, claiming 14,800 paid. Results:
1. Kazushi Miyamoto defeated Tomoaki Honma in 2 minutes, 26 seconds with a roll-up. Non-stop chopping, slapping, and punching throughout. After the match, Miyamoto said that Tenryu & Mutoh are the only non- members of All Japan. Miyamoto said that he wants to see Toshiaki Kawada be the matchmaker for a big show. Miyamoto said that he is going to convert from the Jr. Heavyweight ranks to the Heavyweight division.
2. Hideki Hosaka defeated Nobukazu Hirai & Ryuji Hijikata in a 3-way match in 4 minutes, 16 seconds when Hosaka pinned Hirai.
3. Yoji Anjoh, Mitsuya Nagai, & Shigeo Okumura defeated Arashi, Nobutaka Araya, & Yuto Aijima in 10 minutes, 36 seconds when Nagai pinned Aijima after a right high-kick. Finish saw Arashi hit a frog splash, but Okumura & Anjoh took out Arashi & Araya while Nagai went to work on Aijima. After the match, Arashi said that he found the whole idea of having a Jr. Tag League to determine #1 contender's for the All-Asia Tag Champions "amusing." Nagai said that with all the "big names" being matchmaked on the Budokan shows, he wanted to know why he was being placed in the position he was considering that he put Takashi Iizuka (New Japan) out of commission in 2001.
4. Johnny Smith, George Hines, & Gran Hamada defeated Steve Williams, Mike Rotunda, & Gran Naniwa in 12 minutes, 46 seconds when Hines used a Michinoku Driver II on Naniwa for the win.
5. Abdullah the Butcher & Kendo Ka Shin defeated Masa Fuchi & Mr. Problem (Daijiro Matsui) in 8 minutes, 12 seconds when Butcher used an elbow drop on Fuchi for the win. After the match, Ka Shin made fun of New Japan wrestler Manabu Nakanishi.
6. In the #1 contender's match for the Jr. World Title belt, Kaz Hayashi defeated Jimmy Yang in 13 minutes, 58 seconds with the "Final Cut." Said to be one of the top two matches on the match. Ka Shin said afterwards that he was very proud of Jimmy Yang because Yang has evolved his style in a time-span of six months from traditional American wrestling to a hybrid of US & Japanese styles. Ka Shin said that he (along with Yang) would like to go after the All-Asia Tag Titles.
7. Gen'ichiro Tenryu defeated Hiroshi Hase in 14 minutes, 32 seconds with an avalanche-style brainbuster. Both guys pulled out all of their offensive moves in a short time, including Northern Lights Suplexes, Hurricanranas, Giant Swings, and Powerbombs. An unwritten theme for the match was an old theme of New Japan alumni (Hase) vs. WAR (Tenryu) from the feud in the early 90s.
8. Bill Goldberg defeated Satoshi Kojima in 4 minutes, 2 seconds. The finishing sequence saw Goldberg hit a Jackhammer on Kojima and then used a neckbreaker drop for the three-count. The neckbreaker drop is a real nice touch on the booking because it was one of the moves that Giant Baba used to use in his matches. First part of the match saw Kojima and Goldberg in a leg-lock sequence, but Goldberg overpowered Kojima.
9. In the World Tag Titles match, Brian Adams & Bryan Clarke defeated Mike Barton & Jim Steele in 17 minutes, 25 seconds when Adams used a high-angle bomb on Steele for the win. Finish saw Adams hitting a full- nelson buster on Steele while Clarke took out Barton, setting up a double-team finish on Steele for the win.
10. Keiji Mutoh defeated Taiyo Kea in 19 minutes, 47 seconds with a Shining Wizard. Both guys had an equal amount of offense, but the match theme was about momentum swings. Kea started off strong, but Mutoh countered back. Kea weathered Mutoh's storm in the middle of the match, but Mutoh was able to get the momentum for the finish. Middle section of the match saw Mutoh try frankensteiners and then transitions into cross-arm scissor holds. They traded Shining Wizards & Hawaiian Smashers back and forth.

The growing theme of the show (and was shown through the booking) is Muta vs. Goldberg for the 10/27 Nippon Budokan show. There was talk at the show that the 10/27 Nippon Budokan show might have a "Toshiaki Kawada-produced" theme to it.
There were grumblings at the show about the 8/30 & 8/31 Nippon Budokan shows being aired on American TV or PPV, but there is no word on anything yet. All Japan is still trying to get a TV deal in Japan.
