Smackdown opening - Stephanie walks down to the ring and gets on the mic. Welcome to Smackdown, home of Brock Lesnar. Who is the #1 contender to face Lesnar? It's certainly not Triple H. He's a Raw superstar. It has to be somebody on Smackdown since Lesnar is exclusive to Smackdown. The winner of the last match of the next few elimination style series of matches will be the #1 contender to Lesnar's title. And we will start right now...

Elimination Series - Edge vs Eddie Guerrero
Edge tried the spear but Eddie blocked it with a chair. Eddie hits the frogsplash for the pin.

Backstage, Stephanie tells Matt Hardy that Rikishi will be fighting Eddie Guerrero in the next elimination series match. Matt thinks he will face the winner of that match. Stephanie says, "we'll see".

John Cena vs Reverend D-Von
Dvon got the pin with an inverted ddt. After the match Batista entered the ring and clotheslines Dvon. Batista gives Dvon a brutal powerbomb and leaves.

Rey Mysterio vs Rico w/ Billy and Chuck
During the match the referee orders Billy and Chuck to the back. Mysterio gets the pin with a springboard hurricanrana.

Backstage, Hardcore Holly tells Stephanie that he deserves to be in the #1 contender series. Dawn Marie walks up and tells Stephanie she has a phone call. Stephanie tells Holly she will get back with him later. Holly vents his anger at Dawn Marie.

Backstage, Stephanie is on the phone apparently talking to a Raw superstar??? saying she saw the way he was treated on Raw last Monday night. Stephanie tells whoever is on the phone that all he needs to do is sign the papers and give them to Dawn Marie. Matt Hardy rushes in and hangs up the phone on Stephanie, wanting to know if he still has his match. Stephanie calls Matt a stupid SOB. Stephanie makes a non-title match for tonight - Matt Hardy vs Brock Lesnar.

Backstage, Marc Loyd gets Rikishi's thoughts of maybe winning the #1 contender series tonight. Eddie Guerrero walks up and makes fun of Rikishi. Rikishi promises a stinkface to Eddie.

Elimination Series - Eddie Guerrero vs Rikishi
Rikishi superkicks Eddie in the face for the pin. After the match Chris Benoit enters the ring and he and Eddie double team Rikishi. Eddie delivers a frogsplash and Benoit applies the crossface. Edge comes out to make the save and clears the ring.

Backstage, Stephanie tells Benoit she knows that he is mad at himself for losing the IC title to RVD. Stephanie enters Benoit into the #1 contender series, and the next "series" match will be Benoit vs Rikishi.

Shannon Moore w/ The Hurricane vs Tajiri w/ Jamie Noble and Nidia
Moore got the pin with a rollup.

Elimination Series - Rikishi vs Chris Benoit
Benoit gets the submission win via the crippler crossface.

Backstage, Marc Loyd gets Kurt Angle's thoughts on why his name has not been mentioned yet in the #1 contender series. Angle says that Stephanie has "saved the best for last". Angle says he found out that he will be facing Chris Benoit in the final elimination series match tonight.

Backstage in front of Brock Lesnar's locker room, Funaki asks Paul Heyman if he can interview Lesnar. Heyman agrees but gets Funaki scared in the process. Matt Hardy walks up and says if Lesnar does not want to talk then he will. Matt says that tonight marks the night of a new Hardy era. No longer is it knows as WWE Attitude. From now on it is known as Mattitude. Matt leaves. Heyman tells Funaki that Matt has a death wish.

Brock Lesnar vs Matt Hardy
Lesnar counters the twist of fate with the F5 for the pin. After the match Lesnar gives Matt two powerbombs.

Backstage - Dawn Marie brings a signed contract to Stephanie. Stehanie says it means tonight's main event is no longer a singles match between Angle and Benoit for the #1 contendership. Tonight's main event is now a triple threat match for the #1 contendership. Stephanie tells Dawn to get Bischoff on the phone so she can make sure he is watching when one of his Raw superstars walks out and joins the Smackdown main event.

Stephanie comes out to the stage with a mic in hand and introduces The Undertaker!

Triple Threat #1 Contender Series Final Match
Chris Benoit vs Kurt Angle vs The Undertaker
Undertaker pinned Chris Benoit with the last ride powerbomb for the win. Undertaker is now the #1 contender to Brock Lesnar's title.

Nothing special happened after the cameras went off the air. Everybody just walked to the back.
