Overnight Smackdown Rating, Borash's Latest Column, more

    - Last Night's Smackdown scored a 4.5 overnight rating, with a 7 share. The show did its half hour ratings as followed:

    Half Hour 1: 3.8
    Half Hour 2: 4.4
    Half Hour 3: 4.8
    Half Hour 4: 5.0

UPN finished 4th in the night, behind ABC, NBC, and CBS, but beating out both Fox and the WB. Final ratings should be out later on in the day.

    - The K5 station in Hawaii, which is a mix of both WB and UPN, is dropping UPN from their network. This means that as of September 2nd, Smackdown no longer will be shown in Hawaii. Back on June 15th, the WWE sold out the Blaisdell Arena for a Smackdown house show, seating 10,000 Hawaiian fans. However, Hawaii will still get Raw, as it is said that nearly 90,000 fans watch Raw each week.

    NWA/TNA sent out the following:

From the Inside with Jeremy Borash

This week's TNA program will contain more X-Division content of any program we've done to date. The Best of Three series between AJ Styles and Jerry Lynn should be quite amazing. Add Yang/Siaki and the X-Title match, and we have an X-heavy show.

The Jeff Jarrett saga continues as he heads into a full time hunt for the NWA World Heavyweight title. The progression of his character has been fun to watch.

Kid Kash made a good impression, and will likely be back.

Stan Dupp is so afraid of those little bastard midgets that he has left the country. Japan to be exact. He will be back soon.

The TNA Asylum is turning into a definite travel destination for our fans. This week, fans drove in from Virginia, Oklahoma, Texas and even Delaware to experience TNA live for themselves. Being there live is simply magic.

This week, Bill Behrens obviously showed the mental damage a chairshot to the head can do to someone.

You can chat with the Truth this Tuesday at 10 p.m. EST on AOL.

Brian Lawler attacking Jeff Jarrett? Why? Weren't they just pals? What was he accusing Jeff of doing? This story should be interesting to see unfold.

TNA top brass was in L.A. this last weekend, meeting with iN-Demand. The meetings went very well.

The Backseat Boys will get a look at this week in an NWA TNA dark match. I have heard some great things about them. It has been fun seeing the popular indy talent that has come through to meet with us.

The Jimmy Yang vs. Sonny Siaki match this week will be one fall.

Low Ki vs. The SATs vs. Red in a four way for the X-Title this week. I think Red and Low Ki cannot be topped in terms of excitement. It should be interesting to see what happens when the SATs are added to the mix.

Titles haven't meant much in the last few years of wrestling, TNA is trying to change that. Great emphasis is being put on chasing the gold.

I am looking forward to this coming week's TNA with as much anticipation as any show we've done. AJ Styles and Jerry Lynn have very high expectations placed on them, and always seem to exceed those expectations. Add Killings vs. Monty Brown for the World Title, Yang vs. Siaki, Low Ki vs. The SATs, and Jeff Jarrett's mystery opponent, and you have the makings of a great night.

A big thanks to all of the wrestling news outlets that cover TNA on a daily basis. We realize the passion for this business many of you have, and we will never take for granted the importance of your outreach to the fans. Our policy is to embrace, not deny these lines of communication. Wrestling shows like Stranglehold, No Holds Barred, Between the Ropes, No DQ, Pro Wrestling Weekly, and the dozens of other wrestling media outlets we have been in constant contact with have all been fantastic, and are lead by some very articulate, insightful thinkers.

Have a great weekend and we will see you this Wednesday night at 8pm Eastern!
