WWE House Show Results from Asheville, North Carolina 7-29-02

I went to the Asheville, NC house tonight. I went with my brother-in-law Dudley and my friends Lyle, Alisha, Riley and Noah. Here's quick run down of what happened tonight:

First off, the civic center was under half full, but the crowd was pretty hot for the whole night.

1. 3 way w/ Funaki, Knoble, Kidman.
Good opener with some great spots, Knobe wins with a victory roll while pulling the tights

2.Dvon/Batista v. Mark Henry/Mark Henry.
Fun match with Farooq getting the via big Spinebuster, Damn!

3. Bra and Panties match, Dawn Marie v. Torrie Wilson.
Great Ref spot with him getting in the middle of a rolling pile up and then he gets his pants pulled down. Oh yeah, Torrie wins this one.

4.Rico/Billy/Chuck v.Hurricane/Hardcore Holly/ John Cena.
Good match, lots of heat on Rico and the boys, Lots of the gay gimmick here, with Rico doing the Austin Powers "Shush!" with the hand gesture, funny stuff. Billy Gunn has probably the best punch in the business. Hurricane wins via Hurri-Chokeslam on Rico for the win.

5.Angle v. Hogan.
Great reaction for both guys. Typical match from Hogan, he rolls up Angle for the pin after Brock Lesnar run in.

Intermission.

6.Bull Buchanon v. Mike Awesome.
Bull screws up and starts working Awesome's RIGHT knee, the match wasn't that bad, though, the crowd was not into it that much. Awesome wins with a quick roll up.

7.Albert v. Rikishi.
I'm sorry but instead of Vince letting a lot of developmental guys go, he should look at Albert. Rikishi wins with Bonzai drop. Stink face to Al, Billy runs in for one as well, Chuck runs as Rikishi is exiting the ring and Rikishi just flips him off and walks to the back.

8. Tajiri/Chavo v. Shannon Moore/ Rey Misterio Jr.
Crowd popped big for Rey. Easily the best match of the night, lots of well done highspots, I think Tajiri busted Rey's lip. Chavo wins with a cool modified suplex off the second rope.

9.Main Event. Brock Lesnar v. Edge.
Big pop for Edge. Edge sold his ass off for Brock. Angle run in, Brock wins with F5. Angle and Brock stare down to tease a feud. Angle apologises to Edge for what happened, says they've had some great matches together, offers a handshake, and a hug. Edge accepts, and Angle boots him and tries an Angle slam, Edge reverses for his finisher. Crowd goes bananas.

1.Hogan
2. Edge
3. Rey Misterio
4. Ref spot during the Torrie/Dawn Marie match.

Biggest heat.
1. Angle
2. Rico, Billy, Chuck.
