- Dreams come true for Tag Title participants
DETROIT – July 21, 2002 – Long before he took on the name “Edge,” Adam Copeland often went to the Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto to see Hulk Hogan perform. Rumor has it that Copeland once fell over the steel barricade when he reached out to try to touch his Hogan. Many years later (but not that many), Copeland got to spend three weeks as champion with his boyhood hero. Unfortunately for him, the reign ended tonight when Edge and Hollywood Hogan lost to Christian and Lance Storm. http://www.wwe.com/news/headlines/1161410
- Triple H on his injury, Nash and being ‘office’
DETROIT – July 21, 2002 -- So how does it feel to be on RAW, Triple H? “I don’t know,” he told WWE.com with his customary smirk. “It’s not Monday yet.” http://www.wwe.com/news/headlines/1161467
- Jeff Hardy retains title, then shares stage with Flair and Hogan
DETROIT – July 21, 2002 – Jeff Hardy is no stranger to title matches on Pay-Per-View. A former Tag Team, Light Heavyweight, Hardcore and Intercontinental Champion, Jeff currently holds the European Championship, which he successfully defended against William Regal at Vengeance. But the most memorable part of the night for the North Carolina native came after his successful title defense, when Jeff was congratulated by both Hollywood Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair on his way back from the ring. It’s a moment Jeff says he won’t soon forget. http://www.wwe.com/media/2002/06/21/1161412
- Noble embraces second straight PPV win
DETROIT – July 21, 2002 – Jamie Noble loves being WWE Cruiserweight Champion. Last month, he was legitimately emotional after winning the title at King of the Ring. This month, he was almost as happy to keep it. “This is not only my job, it’s my passion,” Noble told WWE.com after his match, where he defeated Billy Kidman. “This (title) kind of makes me No. 1 in a way. It means everything to me.” http://www.wwe.com/media/2002/06/21/1161414
- Vengeance notes: ‘No limitations’ for Orton … or are there?
DETROIT – July 21, 2002 – After suffering a concussion during a non-televised event in Canada, last week, Randy Orton had an MRI exam on Wednesday in St. Louis. The test came back negative, and the doctor told the third-generation superstar that there were “no limitations” and that he could return to his regular level of physicality. http://www.wwe.com/media/2002/06/21/1161416
