-A good night of wrestling action, with some very solid matches and
entertaining announcements made.
-The Damaja w/ Queen Victoria vs. "Who Betta" Kanyon
-A very good opening match with Kanyon starting off with a full nelson
taking down Damaja with a hint of early offense. Damaja almost immediately
came back, though, with some very intense, close fisted punches to the face
on Kanyon, taking him back into the corner. Damaja continued his assault by
choking Kanyon over the ropes, pressing all of his weight on to him, as the
ref made the five count. Damaja then threw Kanyon out of the ring to
Victoria. As the ref was distracted Victoria raked the eyes of Kanyon very
viciously, erupting the local Davis Arena crowd. The match at this point
went back and forth, with Kanyon fighting out of Damaja's sleeper holds, but
fell victim to Damaja's cheap tactics. The two went all the way to the top
rope eventually as Damaja was superplexed by Kanyon off of the top rope, to
a great ovation. Eventually as the two brawled back and forth, Kanyon was
reversed into the ropes near Victoria, who tripped Kanyon, turning him
around. Damaja then pulled off the neckbreaker on Kanyon, but Kanyon kicked
up at the very last second after Damaja went for the pinfall. Kanyon then
pulled off his finish, the flatliner, but was distracted as Johnny Spade
made a run in, standing outside the ring. After fighting out of an
insegurie, Kanyon was able to roll Damaja up, as well as give Spade a
Northern lights suplex from the ring apron to the middle of the ring,
basically pinning both Damaja and Briskoe, but to no avail as Victoria as
well as Doug Basham, who made his way ringside, had the eye of the ref.
After some serious near falls, Kanyon pulled off the Brain Damaj, which is
Damaja's finishing move, on Damaja but Damaja was actually able to kick up
at two. Damaja was eventually thrown out of the ring, who made his way up to
the ring apron. Kanyon went to suplex him into the ring, but Damaja
overpowered him, and fell right down onto Kanyon covering him up for the
pin. As the ref made the count Doug Basham, who was standing ringside held
down Kanyon's legs and Damaja was awarded the pinfall and the win. After the
match the "Revolution" pummeled on Kanyon until Nick Dinsmore and Rob Conway
made the save.
-Winner via pinfall Damaja
-Johnny Spade vs. Mark Jindrak
DARK MATCH
-This being Mark Jindrak's first match back in Davis Arena since his recent
injury, and actually went fairly well. He seems to be a lot better then
before, in his match tonight with Spade. Jindrak opened up the offense on
Spade with a big atomic drop, followed by a series of dropkicks. The more
experienced Spade, although took Jindrak down face first into the ropes,
with a very nice Drop toe hold, and went on to chop the chest of Jindrak.
The crowd erupted into a huge "Johnny Sucks" chant, insulting the Revolution
member, which really seemed to agitate him. Jindrak eventually reversed the
much smaller Spade off the ropes and delivered a very nice Bulldog Slam,
which was followed by a two count. Eventually after Jindrak made his way up
to the ring apron, after being thrown outside, Mark picked up the pinfall
with an over the top rope sunset flip to Spade.
-Winner via pinfall Mark Jindrak
-Jim Cornette as well as Dean Hill came to the ring for the announcement to
the Television audience that they've been waiting to make. Cornette went on
to first thank the Davis Arena crowd, for putting up with OVW in such a
small arena saying that they're the reason that OVW has really expanded as
of late. He talked of fans that talked to him from all over the world, who
order OVW Tapes and love the action, and realized just how much exposure OVW
gets, compared to the days when Davis Arena was established. He then went on
to make the very important announcement to the TV audience that OVW will
soon move to it's new arena, which will be called "The NEW Davis Arena" in
the next several weeks, giving no specific date. The building is located
approximately one mile from Bashford Manor Mall in Louisville, KY off of
Bardstown Rd. Not only will the building be air conditioned, and have great
facilities, but the price of admission will still be the very same.
ABSOLUTELY FREE. More details to come over the next few weeks.
-Literally out of nowhere Travis Bain came down to the ring, interupting the
above interview segment, and claimed that he's gotten tired of wrestling
David Flair and that he would challenge anyone from the back. Nick Dinsmore
came down to the ring, upset that Bain was disrespecting the interview
segment and accepted his challenge. Jim Cornette sanctioned the match, which
took place immediately as Cornette stormed back to the commentator's booth.
-Travis Bain vs. Nick Dinsmore
-The two started off brawling around the ring, as Bain kicked Dinsmore into
the corner. The ring wise veteran Dinsmore, ended up delivering a nice drop
toe hold to Bain, controlling the offense. The match was overall very
sloppy, with Bain delivering a nasty spinebuster to Dinsmore. Dinsmore was
able to flip out of Bain's finish, which is a back stretch where Bain takes
his opponent by their neck and tries to stretch them over his back. The
match came to an end after Basham, Damaja, Spade and Victoria made a run in
attacking Dinsmore and referee Robert Briskoe called for the bell. Nova,
Conway, and Kanyon eventaualluy made the save.
-Winner via DQ Nick Dinsmore
-Jim Cornette was joined in the ring by Bolin Services, consisting of Kenny
"the King" Bolin, Jerome Croney, Sean O'Haire and "Prototype" John Cena.
Cornette asked Bolin exactly who in the WWE Bolin had a backdoor deal with
considering Sean O'Haire and Cena have been on WWE TV. O'Haire then took the
mic saying that Cornette doesn't need to be so concerned with them, and that
he is undefeated on WWE TV. Prototype then got on the mic and talked about
how it is because of pure talent that they are on WWE TV. He proved it by
beating Jericho as well as the other matches he's had. Cornette then went on
to ask about Mark Cuban, and the money that he's invested in Bolin Service,
and Bolin told Jim Cornette that he has some big plans in store for Cornette
as it comes to bringing in new talent for Bolin Services, but went on to a
very huge announcement. Bolin said that "This Thursday night" on Smackdown!,
which for those that would be vieiwing the taping Saturday, would be next
Thursday night, Bolin will debut on WWE TV. Prototype told him that it would
be very expensive for him to get close ringside seats, for him to be seen on
TV, but Bolin assured him he would be a part of the WWE. Prototype attempted
to talk him out of it, assuring him that the catering wouldn't suit him and
isn't that good. He even told Bolin that there was no fried foods, but Bolin
was determined and according to him would debut on Smackdown! "this thursday
night", which means next thursday.
-Seven vs. Johnny Jeter
-A good match, with Jeter showing his continued improvement. He did slip on
an early springboard attempt, but recovered well. Seven basically
annihilated Jeter throughout most of the match, delivering a huge
clothesline early on. Seven went on to stretch Jeter across the ropes and
followed by delivering many huge clotheslines to the up and coming OVW
Rookie. Jeter eventually reversed Seven and hit a nice spinkick, as well as
a picture perfect top rope spinkick, but moments later, out of nowhere,
Seven pulled off a very vicious powerbomb, to pick up the pinfall and the
win.
-Winner via pinfall Seven
-Shelton Benjamin & Redd Dogg vs. Flash & Trash
OVW SOUTHERN TAG TITLE MATCH
NO DISQUALIFICATION
-The match started out with Shelton and Flash shoving each other in the ring
and followed shortly by a nice dropkick by Benjamin and followed by Shelton
throwing Flash over the top rope. Trash objected at first, because in OVW it
is against the rules to throw your opponent over the top rope, but the
referee reminded him as well as everyone, this was a no disqualification
match. Redd Dogg was then tagged in as well as Trash. After Trash took down
Redd Dogg early on he went to taunt the cameras, making fun of Redd Dogg,
but Dogg delivered a very legal, for this match, low blow to Trash sending
him down hard. A chair was brought into the ring, and Redd Dogg was slammed
hard with a spinebuster by Trash right onto the chair. Redd Dogg got beat on
and double teamed for most of the match until he ducked a double clothesline
attempt by Flash and Trash and delivered a huge double clothesline to the
two of them, sending the champs down hard to the mat. Eventually Shelton was
tagged in as he took down Trash and Flash with punches and ended with a nice
back body drop to Flash. He then literally flipped over Trash and delivered
a crescent kick right into the face of Trash and gained the pinfall as well
as the Southern Tag Team Titles, sending Davis Arena to their feet. Nova,
Dinsmore, Conway and Kanyon all came out to celebrate the victory as the
crowd was deafening concluding another great week of Ohio Valley Wrestling
action.
-Winners via pinfall Shelton Benjamin & Redd Dogg
